Im interested to see how you get on too. My sailing not till Aug 26th and all my bids pending. Sailing shows only retreat available on booking site. Got cold feet and tried to get quote from Celebrity for upgrading officially but my TA told by Celeb agent that couldn’t be done after final payment . Fingers crossed and good luck to you .

Last week I upgraded to a suite guarantee from a infinite veranda long after final payment. Agents are all in Mexico and Manilla now, I asked, when my TA got an agent that said it couldn't be done, it was because she didn't know how. My travel agent told the Celebrity agent not to touch the booking, hung up and got another agent. The second one knew how to do it. We paid the difference and now are in a suite guarantee for our Aug 19th sailing. We didn't want to be denied the perks of Premium drinks, wifi, tips ect by doing move up. Think about it, why wouldn't they want more money from you!

Are have you tried making reservations both through the Cruise Planner on the website and through the app?

For our October sailing on the Edge Eden has no reservations available most nights, the couple of night they do have times they are at 9 or 9:30

They don’t pre sell all the capacity holding some back for on board bookings.  Check as soon as you board,  also you can be asked to be waitlisted in case of a cancellation.

They said they weren't sold out. Just not taking bookings. It was so weird.

  3. I can't reserve Eden for the 8/19 sailing on Edge. Captain's Club couldn't even help me. Actually said I had to reserve on board but giggled when I asked about it possibly of it being closed during sailing. What gives?

  4. We are sailing on the Edge August 19th and have been unable to make pre-cruise dinner reservations in Eden their specialty restaurant. It's not even showing up as an option in the pre-cruise planning specialty dining. I called Captain's Club and was put on hold when they couldn't answer my question. Then when the agent got back on the line she said I had to reserve on board and they weren't taking reservations pre cruise.. I asked if there was any possibility the restaurant was or would be closed altogether and she actually giggled nervously and said she didn't know. What's up? Anyone on Edge or sailing soon able to make reservations? It's really weird. She did not say it was sold out. Just unavailable to book.

  5. Okay update. Sincere apologies from Concierge staff. They said they will pass along our concern and understand the exclusivity of this boarding day lunch if you have paid for Concierge Class. We were offered dinner for 2 in Tuscany Grill or Seafood Buffet and we are more than happy with the resolution. Having complimentary dinner in Tuscany Grill due to miscommunication with staff. Concierge said he would have let us eat with B2B diners and was sorry we were turned away. Shout out to Melvin and staff for making it right! Thank you to everyone who weighed in. 😊

    On Silhouette as I write.
We were late bookers for this cruise, and in Concierge Class, for what it is worth. When we checked in, all the early boarding slots were taken , so no lunch for us! Something seems to be wrong here; when advertised as a perk of your fare, one expects to get this.

Breakfast in the main restaurant is an utter shambles; we queued for 20 minutes this morning. Anytime dining in the evening not too much better. In our cabin it says, Concierge Class have priority seating in MDR, but there is certainly no evidence of that.

We have one more cruise booked on Celebrity, fortunately in a higher grade cabin. It maybe our last.

Our boarding time was 1pm but when I called Celebrity told us to show up early and we could board early because of lunch. We took the train to get to Seward for early arrival. Had considered bus but it wouldn't arrive until 2:30. Train was beautiful and I don't regret taking it but I have ridden this train twice before and could have taken the bus for half the price and arrived later had I know lunch was not to take place

Just out of curiosity, what time did the ship leave?

I know when they started back up in St. Maartin in 2021 the ship left at 10pm so that people could, if they wanted, comfortably fly in the day of the cruise.  They also moved the concierge lunch since it was very possible that many booking it would miss it.  However, they made that clear in advance that they were doing that.

And for what it's worth, of all the Alaska ports that I've visited, Icy Straights is the least interesting, to me anyway.

Ship left at 6pm. The zipline there is awesome and I have seen whales breaching while I was walking the shoreline. Not interesting to you but it is for many.

  8. Just boarded the Millenium in Seward. We took the train to get in early for the concierge  embarkation lunch as it's something my husband and I really enjoy on our first day. We usually never visit the buffet on our cruises at all. Personal preference. When we boarded at noon we went to guest relations and asked where and what time the lunch was taking place. After much back and forth between 3 guest agents they told us to go to our cabin, drop our bags and the information should be with our keys. Once in the room and finding no info we went to Deck 5. The Maitre'd sent us to deck 4. Once there we saw people being seated but we were denied entry and told that lunch was only for back to back cruisers. He said our lunch was on day 5 in Icy Strait Point. We went back to guest relations and now the story was people would miss it because they wouldn't arrive in time so they cancelled it. I asked how many people would miss it when it was in the middle of the day while in port! Sorry but that's ridiculous. They were already serving lunch for b2b cruisers. Another way to cut costs because people won't come back to the ship in the middle.of a port day to have lunch. Less food budget for Celebrity. My husband was pretty pissed because this was a selling point when we upgraded. Let's face it, he could care less about a pillow menu and upgraded toiletries. Waiting to hear back from guest relations now. Not happy at all. And before the "flaming" starts. Yes we will still enjoy our cruise. It won't ruin our day but I hate paying money for something promised and not delivered. Day 5 is not an embarkation lunch.

  9. On the same cruise as you. Went on the Christmas sailing out of Galveston 4 months ago. That was the cruise that all the plants in Central Park froze. I truly hope they have replaced them. It is my favorite place on the ship. This will be my 8th time on Allure. Last time we went in a Crown Loft Suite but this time it's a balcony guarantee for us. We bought the UDP but did not purchase the drink package.

  10. Yes it's more of a day bed but we took the one closest to the beach but still near the pool. We had 2 dedicated servers for the 4 of us (4 max) . We were checked on repeatedly for any food and drink needs. Yes it's 50 in addition to AI charge. It was certainly worth it for the 4 of us.

  11. We have done Mr. Sancho's multiple times but December 2022 we did Paradise Beach with a reserved cabana. It was definitely our favorite. Very organized and great service. We are going back again in a week on our Allure cruise. I usually don't eat or drink in Mexico because I have an overly sensitive stomach but had no problems at all here last time we went.

Agree!  I'm definitely an organized logistical person and prefer to book dinner and shows while I'm relaxing at home or pass time while watching sports in TV.

When I board the ship just want to relax, go to my cabin once open and hang my dressy clothes, put my packing cubes & toiletries away, read my CAS mail & invites, then explore the ship.

I try to avoid long lines and folks already complaining about something the minute they board!

I agree. We are a group of 16 on the Christmas sailing of Allure. We want to see some shows together. Waiting until we are on board will make this very difficult if nit impossible.

    Infinite Veranda $290

    Sunset Veranda $350

    Porthole w/veranda $200

There were no sunset verandas when I bid so I was pretty sure that was a no go and I figured there was less of a chance of obstructed view in the concierge class so I bid more. There was a lot of inventory in Concierge class but on the day they accepted my bid the rate was $2000 more so $800 is a bargain for me. I might have got it for less but I did not want to get stuck in the inside cabin my daughter paid for. I'm not complaining since it was incredibly nice of her so I did not mind paying $800. She is ecstatic!

How long is the journey from ship to station via bus. I’ve booked the 9.07 express to Rome, so would getting off the ship around 8.15am give us enough time?

For info I presume we’ll be at dock 25 as on Wonder of the Seas. Also coming mid July and it’s looking like the ship will be near enough at full capacity of 7,000 passengers.

I'm wondering the same as I would like to pre-book the high speed express train as well. Hope someone can answer.

I personally think that there are too many people on here who are trying to make too much of nothing. Stop and think of what you are paying for your package. You cannot go anywhere other than the MDR and get a cheaper meal. These SRs serve very good food for one of the best values. If you cannot get enough to eat with app, main entree and desert, then you should not even eat in the MDR. Just go to the buffet and sit there all night long to stuff your self. LOL

Really, keep your package, go with an open mind, be positive. You will enjoy it. If you don't you can come back and complain on here and say I was wrong. Been on over 100 cruises, and yes, we do many cruise lines. We have eaten in many SRs on many ships. Very seldom will you have a true complaint.  If you food is not to your liking, let them know and they will try very hard to satisfy you. You are the only one that can say what you will like or not like. Food is subjective.

    Go enjoy!!!! Happy Cruising!!!

My husband and said rugby player, neither of which is overweight, prefer to eat more protein. Neither eats dessert nor unnecessary carbs so they wanted to skip dessert and maybe have one app and 2 proteins (main entrees). My annoyance with Royal is the language used during purchase is ambiguous and ever-changing. In the end because we were in a suite the host allowed us to bring non suite guests when it wasn't busy and we ended up eating there 3 or the nights we has paid for unlimited dining. I wanted ro give those who dont have that option a heads up. I find the comments in this thread regarding the amount or type of food someone wants to consume petty and judgemental. The suite concierge escalated my complaint to corporate as he said we should not have been asked to pay $10 for an extra entree. We never eat in the buffet at all. We've seen too many unsanitary practices by fellow Cruisers that use their finger to wipe food off of a spoon, take food and then put it back, or touch things they don't intend to put on their plate. I especially love when people lick their fingers and then use the tongs other people are going to use. So no we will not stuff ourselves silly in the buffet but rather just ask for something we pay for to have a clear set of rules when we pay for it.

Which brings me to the post upthread who said she and her friend had to share an entree so the men would have enough to eat. I'm still scratching my head on that one because there is no question that unlimited appys, sides and deserts are most definitely allowed. That is plenty of food to fill a Rugby player's belly.
