    Hey guys,

I can't tell from your comments if you were using the new Terminal A or the old Terminal? Whichever one, was it the same terminal as embarkation? I'm sailing on the Nav December 7 and an curious which. RCI is telling me Terminal A for embarkation, but I'm wondering for sure and if the Uber drivers/cabs will know...TY in advance.

Where does it tell you that it's Termianl A? I can't find information on this anywhere?

People line up as early as possible.  However, due to snafus, self disembark didnt end until after 8.  I’m not very confident with the port of Miami.  They just don’t seem organized here and are plague with equipment failures.  I mean, you saw my post earlier about the escalator outages.  If you’re embarking/disembarking essentially off the 4th floor, lack of escalators to move your passengers, many who cant do stairs easily slows things immensely.  And if you saw earlier,, there were computer and camera issues during embarkation which slogged things down badly.

Oh boy, that is not encouraging. So I'm wondering how early is "as early as possible" If the ship docks at 7:00 are people in line by 6:15 or 6:30? Or is that way too early?

    Typical Surf and Stream results:

Both samples taken one after the other using two accounts and the same device, one Surf and the other Surf and Stream.

While surfing the web is possible with only 1/2Mb of download speed, it's faster with nearly 4Mb of download speed.  Eight times faster.

That's exactly what I was wondering! I guess I'll get the surf and stream for fastest surfing. Thank you!

  4. I want to purchase internet for my cruise on Navigator but not sure which would be better for me. I really only need to surf the web and keep in touch with people at home. I won't be uploading any videos or streaming from Netflix etc. but I do want the fastest internet available so is the surf and stream going to be faster for what I need or will I get the same speed with just the surf? I'm not very tech savvy so any help would be great!

  5. I'm wondering how the traffic is as far as other ships in port are concerned. We are going to be on the Navigator and when we disembark we have to catch a flight that is a little too early for my comfort zone. We planned on doing self disembark and catching an Uber to MIA. I'm hoping the construction and extra traffic are not going to slow things down for other ships not disembarking from the new terminal A?

People still don't realize that the dress suggestions are not enforced, so they think they need to avoid the MDR so they don't have to dress formally.

Ahh got it. I didn't realize it was such a large population that doesn't like to dress up. I'm one of those, I would rather dress casually and be comfortable.

Definitely head there straight away to make sure you get the restaurant and time you'd like for each night as certain nights like formal nights do book up prime times pretty quickly.

I'm curious why formal nights would book up quicker? Aren't the Formal nights more popular in the MDR because they have better choices on the menu those nights?

I checked in fro Mariner over the weekend & it did not ask me to enter flight info.

While I understand it really doesn't matter, wondering why I didn't have that step?

Was it a separate link I needed to click?

It was under one of the 4 steps for check-in, however when I go in to edit I can't find it anymore. It's either been changed in the check-in process or I can't edit it because it was never entered originally.  The only reason I can see that they would need it is to assign you a boarding group to disembark that will fit your flight schedule. I plan on walking off with the self assist groups.

  9. I wasn't able to get in for the past few days, I wanted to add airline information to the check-in. I finally got into it today and added my airline information and it had two red lettered warnings about the time my flights were coming and going. Not sure why because my flight out there is the day before the cruise leaves so plenty of time. regardless, it wouldn't let me excited unless I saved the information and it wouldn't let me save the information either. So I wound up deleting all the airline information and then it let me exit the check in process. I don't think they need it anyway. Clearly they still have a lot of glitches with their website.

  10. We live here in Haiti. Labadee is quite close to Haiti and it’s in an area we are hearing of damage. But I don’t think it will effect any cruises. At least two comfirmed dead. But it happened in the evening and will need to wait till am to assess all the damage.

Stay safe Dawn, so glad you and Mike are okay!

  11. I have been wondering about my options also for my upcoming cruise to the ABC islands on navigator. My husband and myself are diamond so we get one free day each. It's a 9 day cruise so my questions are, can I start out using my free day and then my husbands free day on day two and then pay for only 6 more days or are you obligated to buy for the entire cruise? Is it cheaper to wait until on board or cheaper ahead online? We just need the one device and surf only not the voom.

  12. Thank you for your review

Are there hair dryers in cabins pls and are they any good could do without lugging mine on board

Just a heads up about the hair dryers. I usually am relatively satisfied with using the typical hotel hairdryers, they might not be quite as good as my own but to save space I'll put up with that. The hair dryers on the ships are pretty bad though, some might think they are fine but I was so sorry I didn't bring mine. Their power is poor and it took twice as long to dry my hair and usually I gave up before it was completely dry. next time I will bring my own. If you do decide to use the ship's hairdryer you can make it easier to use by putting a rubber band or duct tape on the switch so you don't have to hold it down the whole time. Just unplug it when you're done and you won't have to put it back on each time.

  13. I used to care more about how people dressed in the MDR, but when the food quality and in many cases the quality of service began to go downhill I truly didn't care anymore how people around me dressed. It's kind of like asking people to get dressed up to go to Chili's or TGI Fridays. Also it is harder to pack bulky formal wear when there are so many airline baggage restrictions. I'm guessing the rules are in place to enforce when someone is truly not dressed appropriately for any restaurant that isn't on a beach. My vacations are way too important to me to let them be ruined by the way someone else dresses.

  14. I remember it well.

Some people don't like change and some can't see what going to happen in the future.

Now reality is beginning to set in. It will give people a higher goal to make D+

Or start trying other cruise lines. I have been curious to see what other lines are like lately but since we've become diamond the drink perks (which are just right for us now) make it too tempting to stay with RC. If this diamond perk goes away and only diamond plus and above have access, I will definitely try other lines. Not saying I won't sail RC anymore but there will be nothing to keep me loyal. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one thinking this and I'm also pretty sure RC doesn't want to risk upsetting all of those diamond members.

  15. I feel your pain, my husband works for TSA so an essential employee. He will be working without pay and this means if it goes on too long we will be pulling money out of I-bonds and losing the interest invested in them. This situation comes up way too often and I don't understand why we are pawns in this big game between two parties that have for a long time now, had trouble agreeing on anything.

Thank you for your service and hopefully your cruise insurance will cover you, or perhaps there will be a last minute miracle.
