  1. FYI. I was able to get a stamp in Haiti. Had to pay $5 per stamp at the guard office building. Couldn't get on in Jamaica, was told can only get one if you stay for 24 hours or more.

  2. The cruise line that we sail on typically holds passports for all passengers and they are stamped at some - not all - ports. I wouldn't get too excited about passport stamps as they quickly fill up your passport and you need to purchase another one before it expires. Some countries require 2-3 blank pages for entry into the country. IMO, it is easier (and less expensive) to get a small souvenir from each country you visit

Thanks for the info! I'll keep all this in mind. Passports are costly as-is

  3. To those talking about adding pages to their US Passports: that is no longer an option. If you fill up your pages or do not have the needed number of blank pages for a visa, you now have to get an entirely new Passport.

So be judicious in getting those "souvenir" stamps.

I don't travel too much out of he country but I do appreciate this info. I'll monitor how much space I have left for these souvenir stamps.

  4. :) I got mine stamp in Cozumel at the Department of Tourism. :)

The main place that visitors to Cozumel should visit for tourist information is the Municipal Tourism office. The Municipal Tourism Office is located at the Plaza del Sol commercial building, which is across from and facing the town square in Cozumel. The office is on the second floor of the building and is open on weekdays from nine in the morning until seven thirty in the afternoon.

  5. One thing I enjoy doing is collecting passport stamps from the different ports of call, but it's generally a hit or miss affair. Most ports don't seem to actively stamp passports, but a stamp (some official, others merely a tourist souvenir) can be found in most ports.

I understand the risks of carrying a passport into port and am always extremely careful to keep it under wraps.

Just wondering who has certain tips or tricks or locations to get a stamp in the various ports.

    Here are my recent experiences:

St Kitts: there's an office to the right as you enter the main building at the end of the pier.

Tortola: there's an official cutoms building (red tile roofed) in town right on the water. It's just a few minutes walk from the pier. I don't have good directions handy, but it was simple to find after asking a person or two.

Barbados: also an office to the right inside the main building/shopping area at the end of the pier. Had to ask a couple of folks, but didn't have any trouble getting a stamp.

Labadee, Haiti: the only case where I got the stamp while onboard. Customer service took our passports the night before we hit port and got stamps for us.

St Petersburg: customs/immigration was right on the pier and you had to process through it. I had to ask, but got a stamp both days.

Warnemunde, Germany: there was an office within the main building at the pier.

Helsinki: got a tourist-type stamp, but can't recall where.

    Anyone else's thoughts/experiences are appreciated.

Does RCI cruise still do this (leave PP with purser or guest relations)? Going to Labadee and Falmouth in March 2017 and want them stamped.

    TIA
