Since Carnival is still not holding Meet & Mingles, we are planning our own for our Mardi Gras cruise with other CC members.
My question is where is a good place to hold one? It would be on the first sea day either at 10 or 11am. I thought about the Pig & Anchor area, Tribute bar.
I found some Fun Times posted for the Mardi Gras and there is a Military Meetup at 10:30 at the Tribute bar so not sure now if that area would be appropriate.
Any suggestions?

I called them with the same question and was told that the OBC would show up 15 days before the cruise. I had to cancel out cruise so I am not sure if that is true or not. I have a lot of rewards to redeem for our next cruise so I will be interested in knowing when they actually show up.

Taino Bay. NCL used Amber Cove, which is Carnival's port, temporarily while Taino Bay was being built. It is a beautiful port area with lots to do, restaurants, bars, pools, beach etc... We were there in January and spent the whole day there. I have read that they have recently added on to it.

For the Nov 27th cruise we watched the video and checked in at our muster station. Very easy.
Thanks. Hopefully it is the same next week. We cruise on Jan 2nd. On our Sept. cruise it was that way but people have been posting that NCL is going to switch back to the old way, hopefully not!

For those who just got off the Dawn, did you do the pre-covid muster drill - the one where everybody met at one time at their station. OR did you do the newest one where you watched the video and then "checked in" at your station?

You should have embark/debark escorts as well as priority tendering and reserved show seating. Both butler and concierge. Breakfast/Lunch in Cagneys.
Is the lunch available at Cagney's on embarkation day for suite guests on the Dawn?

We have the Key on Explorer sailing 9-3-22 so I can come back and give an update then.

We are on Royal Caribbean. Booked the "Best of Skagway" excursion through the ship. May 24, 2022
The description say Train To Fraser BC, and then bus to do a Salmon Bake and then back to Skagway.
So not sure about the covid testing. I realize it is still 80+ days away and anything can change between now and then,.
-
I tried to see if this has been asked before but no luck....so I will ask it.
We are taking the Railroad excursion from Skagway which according to the description stops in Fraser, BC.
I read somewhere that Canada requires a negative Covid test 72 hours prior. Is this still true? We sail in May 2022.
We are in Skagway on day 4 so our Covid test we will take to get on the ship will be older than 72 hours.
Are we going to have to get a test on the ship in order to be able to take this excursion?
We also stop in Victoria BC, so will we have to take another test there in order to do our excursion?
Any help or clarification will be greatly appreciated. First time to Alaska and really want to be able to experience it fully.

Don't know if I missed it, but what were the procedures for the B2B transition? Testing, day of second cruise etc?

I purchased these tests from emed for an upcoming cruise. We’ll, I hung out with a neighbor who had a “head cold” 2 weeks ago for a few hours on Friday and wouldn’t you know it…I came down with a head cold on Sunday. *insert eye roll here*
She didn’t get tested so I decided to test this morning since I’m vaccinated and the Delta variant can appear as a head cold.It was so easy! I got connected right away and she walked me through the test. You’ll need to use both the front and back camera of your phone to scan the QR code of the test and your photo ID.
My results were negative and the lab report was received in the app and as a PDF in my email immediately. It has all of the required items that Carnival requested so I’m very confident it will be accepted. The PDF document does say BinaxNOW Covid19-AG Card Home Test as the title but the screenshot version does not include the words “home test” and it says it was proctored which is one of Carnival’s requirements so I’ll try to show that version to the Carnival employee first. I’ve attached some screenshots with my info blacked out.Definitely let us know how Carnival reacts to it. Since ours is 3 weeks away, I decide to get 2 tests, this one plus the PCR at CVS. Just to be sure! We are out in the country and do not run into many people on a daily basis so not really exposed. Just worried about false positives tests that I have heard about. Both vaccinated also.

Thanks for all of the information. Went ahead and ordered ours for our Sept. 4th and 11th cruise. We can get the PCR test at CVS, which we will also do, but just want a little peace of mind and do both.
Since CVS says 1 -2 days for the results, decided to do this rapid test with EMed also.

UPDATE.....called Carnival this morning, hold was only 15 minutes so not too bad. Rep was very helpful and changed my cabin to the same category without losing any of our perks or offers.
Thanks for your help!

I understand what you asked. I guess you did not understand my answer. For instance I have cheers and am booked into a 8C balcony. I cannot downgrade per carnival and I cannot move to a 8E balcony without repricing.
Casino offers may allow it but regular changes you cannot change categories without repricing.
Since you dont give enough information to know if you want to change from a 8B to a 8B, or upgrade I'm giving a general answer matching your non specific question. Generally you cannot downgrade, and cannot upgrade without repricing. You can change within your specific category to a different cabin.
Contact the casino for specifics.
I was able to look at the deck plan for Mardi Gras and both of our cabins are 8G and the cabin I want to change to is also an 8G, so hopefully this will work. Thanks for the help! Happy cruising

You can change to a cabin within the same category with no change but I'd say upgrading might be a problem. You can call and be sure but I know I cant change to a different category.
Thanks. I don't mind staying in the same category. Just don't want to lose my perks but would like to stay in the same cabin for both cruises. How do I go about seeing what my category now is? We have a balcony now but I know there are different categories for balconies.

We are booked on the Mardi Gras Sept. 4th and Sept. 11th. I added the second cruise months after booking the first cruise and at the time there was not the same cabin available for both cruises. So, we are in 2 different cabins for the B2B. But now, with people cancelling due to the covid mandates, we could get the same cabin.
I booked the cruises using a casino offer which includes drinks everywhere, OBC, and casino play. I realize I can call Carnival and have them change the cabin numbers but will I lose my current offers? The same offers are not currently available on their website.
Just want to check and see if anyone has had success doing this before I call and get put on hold with Carnival for who knows how long....
Thanks in advance for any help and stay safe!

For those who have just recently cruised on Carnival, do you know if Carnival was allowing any slot pulls or other casino group events?
We have a slot pull and a group roulette spin scheduled for our September cruise and was wondering if we are going to be able to do them.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks....have a great time. We are doing a B2B on her in September.

Finding a vape shop easily would also depend on the port. San Juan probably has some, Cozumel probably, but some of the smaller islands ??? Plus they are probably not regulated.
I would advise bringing a backup unit. I broke mine on day 3 of an 11-day cruise. We searched every port we went to with little luck. We finally found a vape shop in Cartagena where I was able to buy one of the cheap mods but it took most of the day so we wasted that port day.
Now I bring a backup unit, back battery and plenty of juice.

The rest were the standard covid questions. Out of the country last 14 days. New symptoms. Any exposure.
It was mentioned that if you weren't vaccinated you had to do bubble excursions, masks on boards etc... Once you check in and show your card, how does the crew know that you are vaccinated? Wrist band? On you sail & sign card?

Thanks for the input. I will post what we experience after our cruises in September for those doing B2Bs after us.

Does anyone know if they offer golf carts or other transportation from the ship to the main area? Some in our FB group have mobility issues and will need a ride. Thanks in advance for any information.
