  1. Well, the Ring Saga continues... For those following, you read that my wife's wedding ring fell out of her purse and was thankfully turned into guest services. I left a note and offered to purchase the couple who found it dinner at a specialty restaurant. They politely declined, but said a bottle of wine would be nice. I went to guest services, told them the story, and Fabio, the guest services rep insisted that he purchase the bottle because MY gesture was so thoughtful! Brand loyalty is everything in the travel industry, and Royal essentially ensured that if we cruise again, it will be with them. (I also had the matre d send the couple a glass of champagne at dinner.) Casual dinner tonight. Cheers.

Wow, now that was nice of both of you!

Thanks for the posts... very good reading!

  2. I still believe in the packing advice I got here, more than a decade ago:

Take half the amount of clothes you think you need, and twice the money.

As well as the one I learned in Boy Scouts (granted, pertains more to camping than cruising, but still):

Divide everything into three piles - first pile are things you need every day. Second pile are things you will need once. Third pile is things you probably won't need at all. Take only the first pile.

My thoughts are somewhat like yours except I have 2 piles.

    Things I need

    Things I want

I allow myself one or two small things from the bottom pile! *chuckling*

  3. We got it down to science to, a 3 week long science experiment where it takes many trial and errors, hypotheses and when we finally put it all together it looks like a hot mess!!! [emoji13]

*LOL* Well, with as many cruises as we have, I've created my own spreadsheet for packing! Pretty much memorized now... but anything not on the list I don't need.

  4. What a cute young man you have there!!! Enjoy... ours are all grown and moved away, and now we're suffering (but not too badly) from empty nest syndrome (but a year and a half old granddaughter is helping with that!).

Wish we could get down early, but work calls unfortunately.

I work a half day tomorrow, then head home to wash clothes and pack.

I've got it down to a science now and only takes about 45 minutes, tops!
