I'll be on the Vista on Saturday too! Can't wait.

Booked with a carnival PVP and I haven't received anything. I know they have the correct information since I have confirmation emails, and updates for when I purchased excursions. I'm also getting several offers weekly. I didn't receive the platinum/diamond email and my hubby didn't get the gold email. Not sure what is up. If it wasn't for this board I would have no clue that I need to have a covid test prior to the cruise and we cruise in 15 days.

No email for new protocols or platinum and I cruise on the breeze on the 21st.

I sent in my information on July 13th and received the email that my credit had been applied on July 24th. So 11 days for me. They applied it to my August cruise and my January 2022 cruise.

In my experience - not a chance. But you never know, it's certainly worth asking (I frequently do).
For my upcoming sailing, "free drinks while playing in the casino". I asked if I could pay an additional amount to have it converted into a full blown (ship wide) CHEERS. You could hear a pin drop as they probably rolled their eyes and shook their head. Of course, to have drinks anywhere on the ship to them likely means less time that I'd want to spend it with them (in the casino), so why on earth would that be something that they'd encourage!!

You were correct. I got nothing except a promise that I could change my promotion if I get a better one before my cruise date. She did find me a rate that was the same as everyone else but I got 300 less in room credit. I used a casino promotion with free drinks in the casino that I won’t use because I always get the cheers package. Oh well. Still excited to cruise. Jan. 2022!

Planning a family cruise next year but the offers have me a bit irked. Of the 4 cabins we need to book my husband and I are the only platinum cruisers and the only ones in our group who had 4 cruises cancelled. We also have the worst offers. I’m talking a difference of 300 in room credits and 400 rate difference. I’m going to ask that carnival sweeten my deal. Think I have a chance?

Just got off of the Freedom on Sunday. I got the Tervis cup & a $50 spa card.

Camp Ocean since I was a YWCA camp counselor back in the 80s. Unless there are mainframe jobs on the ship.

How far out is your cruise? My status showed Gold until about 5 months ago when it changed to Platinum for my cruise in May.
It's probably because I went on a cruise in December and that changed the status of my cruise in May.

We make Gold on day 1 ( heck I just want few drink) and my status still shows Red. Is it only Platinum and above that triggers durning cruise. We have a suite so I know we get those benefits, but it's all about the "Free" drink. Platinum on Princess, but no drink, just free wifi.

Elevator courtesy would be first on my list. I'm able bodied and can fend for myself, but seeing frail elderly people pushed
and shoved is a big pet peeve of mine. On our last cruise, several of us ran interference for a lady who had been pushed to the side. It wasn't young folks doing the pushing, either.
I will yield to scooters, but some of the folks on those can be rude and entitled. If everybody used their manners, things would
be a lot more pleasant.
I second the elevator courtesy. I always wait for the people who were there before me to get into the elevator first. It was so frustrating on the Vista due to the long waits for elevators. We would be patiently waiting only to have the elevator filled by people who had just walked up.

My favorite parts of Vista are the Alchemy Bar and Red Frog Pub. The Havana area gets a lot of positive feedback, although I have never stayed in that area. Shows are not enjoyable to watch due to the terrible design of the lounge where they perform all their shows.
The steakhouse is also very good as previously mentioned. The biggest challenge you will likely face is how crowded the ship feels, especially on sea days. Staying in the Havana area helps alleviate this issue.
I agree. The ship seemed very crowded to me. The lines for pizza.....Even at 2 AM was crazy!!

The best part was the cruise director - Matt Mitcham.

I have reservations for the steakhouse on the Freedom. The link they sent me says this:
- The dress code follows the dress code specified for that evening on board; if the evening is specified as Cruise Casual, shorts are not permitted.

19 days until 8 days on the Freedom!!

What you’re offered onboard is good for two weeks after you get back.
Thank you!

Good question. I'll be on the Freedom in a few weeks and I'm wondering if I should wait until then to book my cruise to Alaska in 2020.

I had the social package on the Vista in December and didn't have any issues. It worked much better than when I was on the Breeze.

I love big boats and I can not lie! I would cruise a lot more but my DH is not as big of a fan as me. He prefers flying to an all inclusive resort.
14 cruises - 89 days at sea. 38 days until next cruise (15 cruises - 97 days at sea)

Do not pack your passport in your suitcase. I actually learned this on my second cruise because this is exactly what my parents did and when they remembered the luggage was long gone. They were allowed to board the ship with a picture ID but had to raise their right hand and swear that they were who they said they were. This was 2003 but I wonder what would happen now.
Doesn't anyone cruise on the Glory?
