  1. Do you have to stick with Carnival?

Royal Caribbean leaves out of Galveston also....

    Norwegian leaves out of Houston.....

and I am sure other cruise lines in Texas also.

Only suggesting this to save you tons of $$$ on airfare/hotel accommodations::o:):o

I have never been on a bad cruise and LOVE trying different ships and cruise lines. My bucket list is sooooo long. So many ships...too little time.:D

I completely agree! Princess goes out of Houston as well well for part of the year, same with Norwegian.

  2. I'll be on the Liberty in June for an 8 day! I'm going solo and booked first class air so I'm excited!!! I think after a long year of teaching 7th and 8th graders I deserve this!

  3. I booked an 8 day solo cruise on Liberty June 20th. I am excited, this will be my 20th cruise and longest one to date. I booked my airfare today and got an outstanding deal on first class tickets. Is it wrong that I am this excited to go by myself??? Maybe I should upgrade my room to a balcony from an inside?!

  4. I seriously doubt that anyone on the ship is going to check if everyone in your family has FTTF on debarkation day. The staff just wants to get everyone off as quickly and hassle-free as possible. On the evening prior to debarkation, you will receive luggage tags with zone numbers based on when you need to debark. If your childrens' luggage tags don't have the same number as yours (example: a "5" instead of a "1") just see your room steward and he/she will get the ones you need. That way all of your luggage will be together in the terminal. Once debarkation begins and zone numbers are called, you can debark together, no questions asked.

While you are correct most of the time, in December they checked everyone on our ship. They had the extra time cuz we got into port early. There were several parties that were split up. My friend's family being one of them.

  5. I've done the 7 day one. It's very nice. San Juan is AMAZING. St. Thomas is also nice but there's not much to do other than the beaches and great jewelry to buy. Grand Turk is pretty but boring. HMC, also pretty. I'm doing the 8 day cruise next spring break myself. I have been to Aruba before though (but nt via cruise--we did a week AI honeymoon there). I'm thinking this 8 day will be more relaxing than the 7 day one. LOTS of sea days. Last year we did 6 ports in 7 days that left out of SJ. Soooo tired. This 8 day sounds more relaxing. So if "relaxation" is your goal, go with the 8 Day. If seeing a "lot of history and several beautiful beaches " is your main goal, go with the 7 day. Not saying you can't get the other from the other, but those are the main differences as far as I can tell. 8 days is more than 7....goes without mentioning. ;)
