  1. My husband has some mobility problems although he usually has no problems using tenders.

    We would like to visit French Polynesia or the islands nearer New Zealand e.g. Fiji, but I am concerned that the majority of the ports entail a tender. I have been put off by photos of the Paul Gaugin and Marina which shows a steep flight of many steps onto the tiny tender platform. I cannot find any details of the Regatta tender process not even from Oceania.

    I would greatly appreciate any comments about tendering in this region. .

    Also, are the seas particularly choppy between November and February?

    I have been to many ports throughout the world with Voyages of Discovery and can't ever recall there being a shuttle laid on by the ship. I am under the impression that they do not encourage independent travel.

    However, we have sometimes used the shuttle laid on by the relative port authority.
