I emailed Royal a year or so back about miscommunication on board a previous cruise & an open booking ticket.

 

Turned out they didn't have to do anything about it but as a show of appreciative for being a repeat customer they gave me a few hundred OBC!

 

So as mentioned, it's always worth emailing because you never know - but you always have to be polite about it. :)

When are you going? I notice from your signature that you have cruises on the Golden in 90 odd days. Is this the cruise you are talking about. If so did you book with an Aussie TA and did they demand payment prior to the 75 days that Princess asks?

 

Why I ask is final payment is due 75 days prior to your cruise. If your TA has asked for final payment way ahead of this date (some do' date=' one in particular), they have not paid Princess yet as they pay Princess 75 days prior to the cruise. They still have your money. I don't see why they can't reduce the amount as they haven't paid them yet. Begs the question of how much they will be paying the cruise line, doesn't it.

Yes and booked with Aussie TA. Spoke to Princess today and they won't budge. They acknowledges that I had paid in full but for "privacy reasons" they wanted me to go through my TA. Whose privacy? The TA won't help me either. I now will only book direct. TA is now in my "bucket list".

The price for our balcony on a cruise from San Francisco was $5999 when we paid in full in mid Apr. It is now $4999. Our travel agent insists nothing can be done because we are past the payment in full date. I have asked her to argue with Princess on our behalf - so far nothing. This sucks!!! Any suggestions on what we can do to get a reduction.

Apparently it costs Princess quite a bit of money to provide the live feed and they won't do it unless there are number of requests for it. I phoned the Pursers Desk and the Cruise Director's staff from every phone I found on the ship and created the demand:) Sadly my Cats were Pal on the night:mad:

We are Aussies travelling through Hawaii to Vancouver, then Rocky Mountaineer to Calgary and then flying to San Francisco. We then cruise to Alaska and then B2B back to Aust. I know we have to get the ESTA but do we require anything else for the Canada portion

We have 5 days in San Francisco in Sep 15. The responses on this post have been amazing and I'm sure we won't have a moment to spare. If my daughter has her way we'll do a walk over the Golden Gate before we do the cruise from Bridge to Bridge (Sydney). Thanks to all for your advice.

How long of a walk from the pier to the education center? Can't find any maps of city online.

I'm guessing a good 30 mins. It's hot and you can't get into the "festival" unless you are on a Princess tour - so they say!! The price of the tour was different for P and O and Princess. Good luck finding a map!;)

We are on the November Princess cruise to PNG and have been advised that a $6.00 Quarantine fee will be charged to the OB account. You also have to download or call your cruise line for a PNG Declaration Form to be filled in before embarkation. Things could change before your cruise.

Just off Dawn - Quarantine Fee was mentioned in Cruise Personalizer but not charged, There is a Declaration Form which can be downloaded from Princess site and you need a photocopy of your passport front page.

How hard is it to get a taxi to the airport for 2 couples and luggage? Arriving on Sun Princess Thursday, 30th October. Our flight is not until 1pm. Should be book a transfer?

Just off Dawn at White Bay. Princess transfer was $19 a head which was more than reasonable.

Recently back from a Holland America cruise. We have contacted guest services to see if they can provide us with a power strip, they had one delivered to our cabin. Does anyone know if Princess can provide power strips upon request?

Just back from a Dawn Princess cruise to PNG. My powerboard was confiscated when it showed up on a XRay of baggage. My bag was placed in naughty room along with some 100 other bags. I asked Princess for a replacement board as I use a CPAP machine and they couldn't even provide an extension lead. Luckily I carry one so wasn't greatly inconvenienced. Wish they had have told me.

Do Princess deliver your duty free to your cabin at the conclusion of Leg 1 and can you therefore consume it on Leg 2? :D:D:D

Try Luke Mangan's Salt Grill. It's brilliant! There is a cover charge as he is a celebrity chef and has restaurants world wide. On the first night the cover charge was reduced.

Australia and NZ veterans have also been included. Well done Princess!
