...... So, I would imagine that they would honor your points for your wife. ... And congrats on your wedding (since you said “new” wife)!

Thanks, happily married once again. My late wife and I cruised for 35 years before she passed. C&A linked my new DW to my status even though we have different last names but are living at the same address.

  2. Hi:

I joined in Sept 2016 and was sold something very different than was presented to me. The HA sales person was not very well versed on the HA Privileges program. My recommendation is to STAY AWAY!

I am very disappointed and have shared my experience with the HA Privileges customer service team. They concluded that the program was in its infancy when I had joined and the "wrinkles have been ironed out" since Sept 2016. Obviously, this does not help me at this point in time. As I said, not worth the time or money. STAY AWAY. I am now head of the HA Privileges SALES PREVENTION TEAM. My objective is to inform those who are considering the program and steer them away from making the same mistake as I have.

I just posted the following on another thread, we thought it was a HAL program and since we eat out, travel and shop online, what that heck..let's do it.

Good luck as the "Head" of the Sale Prevention Team. May you steer a lot of our friends in the right direction:)

"We bought into this but are canceling. There is a 30 day cancellation period. I got a call (on answering machine) fro HAL Priv stating they received my notice but would like to go over some "things" to finalize it. Called back and got a runaround so had to leave voicemail. Waiting for callback. The contract states you may cancel without any reason for doing so (as long as you are within 30 days). This might be a good program for those that do resorts/timeshares, shop on line at "member approved sites", eat at select restaurants (by purchasing gift cards for those restaurants from HAL Priv)....etc.

We've been cruising for 30+ years, it's our type of getaway. We don't do resorts, don't fly, don't really want gift cards in my wallet in case we eat at one of their restaurants...you get the point.

A contract is a contract so we should get our $1950+ back and will just put it towards our next HAL cruise...if we have a hassle getting a refund, well there are a lot of other choices out there."

  3. Can you cancel?

  4. Does anyone have current bar menus that can be posted?

    Thanks :)

Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app

HAL ship services can email you a bar menu.

We're considering the Signature Beverage Package and requested the menu to see if our favs are under $7.00.:p

  5. My DW and I are cruising soon and are considering the 17 Day Signature Beverage Package. However we're trying to earn more points and wonder if I purchase the packages on line pre-boarding will we earn bonus cruise day credits. HAL web site says bonus points are based on onboard spending but HAL rep with ship services (on the phone) says the purchase will count. Anyone have first hand experience with this.

    This is from HAL www.

    "Earn Bonus Cruise Day Credits

Increase your Mariner Star status simply by enjoying your cruise.

In addition to earning Cruise Day credits for each actual day sailed, there are also easy ways you can earn bonus Cruise Day credits. The more Cruise Day credits you collect, the faster you increase your Mariner Star status, and the more exciting rewards you’ll receive.

Suite Bonus When you book a spacious suite or penthouse on your next cruise, you’ll not only enjoy special amenities, but you also qualify for double Cruise Day credits. For instance, guests who pay full fare for suite accommodations on a 10-day cruise earn 20 Cruise Day credits.

Onboard Spending Bonus One bonus cruise day credit will be granted for each $300 in onboard purchases. This is calculated on the combined folio charges for all guests on the booking, regardless of who signs each charge and who pays the bill. There is a limit of one bonus day for each day sailed, and 3rd and 4th guests on the same booking do not earn the onboard spending bonus."

    END QUOTE

Also, I assuming the package includes wine and specialty coffees in the MDR.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
