Either way is acceptable to the cruise line, but I find it more convenient to carry on. I don't have to worry about breakage, and potential delays in bag delivery when they scan and see bottles in the checked bag.
The 'breakage' and potential delay is exactly why I was thinking carry on was better. OK, cool. Thanks!

Taking wine on board for the first time (tomorrow! YEA!!). Do I put it in my carry on or in checked luggage? Thanks!

I have a large group that wants to make a reservation. I was told by RCI customer service to go to Chops as soon as we board to make the arrangements. Will Chops be open (taking reservations) before we sail away? Thanks for any help/advice.

Well, this post scared me a little as I'll be onboard NOS in two weeks, but I have to remind myself that everyone's experience is different...and I won't be at work...and I'll be with 18 of my best buddies...and I won't be at work...and......

I'd be curious for feedback, as well. There is another thread in here and a member posted his review of this Goff Caye excursion (including pics). It seems pretty awesome. There are a bunch of us going in September and the group is considering Rendevous Caye (booked thru Royal Caribbean). The place looks beautiful but it sounds like they don't let you just snorkel on your own. Plus it cost $65 pp. I'd be happy just using a local provider but I don't get to vote. I just get to show up. :)

I think the "shreds" are probably there on purpose, to allow the wind to blow through it and not carry the flag off like a giant parachute. Just my guess, though!
No. Yesterday, you could see the holes that were there for letting the wind blow through. Today...it's SHREDDED. Go look. :)

If you can get any scoop on poker in the casino, I'd be thankful. Just want to know how I'll be spending my nights when I'm on her in Sept. ;)

Alicia,
I've just spent about 4 hours reading the whole thread. I don't want to overwhelm you because I know you're busy but I have a few points and comments that I MUST make:
Best pictures ever (I am in the 'I-like-the-windshield-as-part-of-the-shot' camp).
As a 'correct spelling' fanatic, I totally appreciate the fact that you know the difference between "your" and "you're"...and you use correct capitalization, punctuation, sentence structure, and grammar (as you see from THIS sentence, I don't).
As a 'late commer' (is that a word? It is now) to the party, I missed all the drama/other thread about you "trying to advertise" your business. #1. I NEVER got that impression. And, #2. It sounds like you're plenty busy enough without trying to advertise.
I have NEVER seen a review get exactly ZERO snarky comments. I may have missed them if they were there but usually there are a bazillion know-it-alls who will have a 'bad' story to off-set every one of your good. This observation was refreshing.
Please, for the love of all that's good in heaven, do an Alaskan cruise so we can see your pictures.
Finally, as someone who...eh hem...goes to your church, so to speak, I am in love with Steve. There, I said it. Sorry to my gf of 6 yrs. I SERIOUSLY want to hang with him. His comments and yours back to him added one more 'layer' (yeah..I know.."how many times can this girl use ' ' in a post?) to an already enjoyable review.
If ya'll are ever in Houston.....;)

"DH trying to feed the bird licorice. The ranger announced many times not to but almost every one on the balconys were trying. A couple of people a deck above us fed the birds fries. DH wasn’t chosen, they must not have had a sweet tooth that day lol."
I'm one of those silly people who follows instructions given by park rangers when it comes to the wildlife. I know...I'm such a loser. Wish I could be such a free spirit. Sigh...maybe one of these days.
AWESOME pictures, btw, of the glaciers.

The Holiday Inn Express -West Ashley was a great hotel. I left my car there for the week that we were gone and had no problems. I booked the park and cruise package. The hotel offered a shuttle to and from the cruise port BUT our driver was an @$$. On our way back to the hotel he informed that I could really benefit from Weight Watchers........that pissed me off  and then about a mile from the port we stopped to pick up a hooker  and then we dropped her off at an apartment complex. Our driver gave her money and his business card.....I thought that was quite odd .
The hotel stay was perfect though with a great breakfast. I found a coupon for the hotel that gave us 20% off our stay :)
Please tell me that you reported his @$$ to the hotel. What a freakin creep!

As the DD for most of my friends, I speak 'drunk' fluently. Think Carnival has a need for THAT service. I can clear my calendar for next week. :D:D

Not sure about the water...I meant to ask the stewards, but kept forgetting. The water was never soapy and the balcony never had any residue, so not sure.
Enjoy:)
My guess is, if it WAS water from cleaning the decks, it WOULDN'T be soapy. They have to use special chemicals that are safe to the environment/ocean when they are cleaning the ship's surfaces and, often time, there is no 'soapy' look or feel.
Not saying that's what the water that you saw was but.....

I am traveling with a 16 (Junior) and 17 (Senior) year old next month!!!!! I was wondering on if I should have a curfew? and what time to give them until!?!?! What time were your kids curfew? Your kids are a bit younger than mine, but still what is there to do after 1am???? Don't know what to do on this! :D
LOL..I haven't seen 16 and 17 for about 30 years but I do remember not needing 'something to do' to have a good time. :)

Mike, I have been keeping up since the beginning and am enjoying it IMMENSELY. I do have a question that I don't remember anyone asking. How long did it take ya'll to get your land legs back? When I've been on a ship for a week, I sway back and forth for a few days after I get home. I'm guessing, after almost a MONTH on a ship, ya'll are STILL swaying! I know..you were on land for port calls..but you were at sea more time than on land. How did that work for you? Thanks again for the epic review.
(btw..I'm on team Mike)
Uber from IAH Bush Airport to Galveston
in Gulf Coast Departures

I don't know if Uber will even still be in Houston by that time. They just pulled out of Austin because of bureacracy. It's my understanding it may happen in Houston, as well.
Heck, I live about 20 mins from Galveston. I'll come get you and take you back. :)
