  1. Good morning everyone :)

We are happy to inform you all that the Brigadoon restaurant will be the new buffet dining venue on board Black Watch, replacing the Braemar Garden Cafe.

The Bridgadoon will offer the same dishes and dining options as the Braemar Garden Cafe, but in a new, more contemporary setting. We will of course continue to host our ever popular themed-nights here too.

If you have any other questions or queries regarding the Black Watch refit, please don't hesitate to contact us on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/fredolsencruiselines), Twitter (twitter.com/FredOlsenCruise) or directly via email at internet@fredolsen.co.uk

    We hope this helps.

    Regards,

    F.OCL.

  2. Hello Parsman,

We’re happy to tell you that there’s no need to worry about the future of Boudicca, she is, and will be for the foreseeable future, a much-loved and important part of the Fred. Olsen fleet and family! The reason why her 2017/18 programme currently concludes in September 2017 is because we have something extra special planned for her at the end of 2017. Unfortunately we can’t provide any further details at this time, but please be on the lookout for updates in the future.

    Regards,

    F.OCL

  3. We have made the decision not to exhibit at the London Cruise Show later this month due to our new 2017 Worldwide itineraries launching in March. However, we are hoping to be at the Birmingham NEC 10-11th September, Autumn London 24-25th September and the SECC Glasgow 8-9th October 2016. If you are interested please contact us at internet@fredolsen.co.uk and we will keep you as up to date as possible.

    Kind regards

  5. We are pleased to hear you are thinking of cruising with us once again. If you contact our Reservation Department they should be able to advise you as to the facilities and floor space in our wheelchair adapted cabins on board Balmoral. We also have some photos of these cabins on file that could also be sent should you require.

    Kind regards

  6. Thank you all for your feedback during this trial period.

We received a large amount of comments from our guests via email, letters, Facebook, forums (like this one) and on board, and while many were happy with the new timings, the majority expressed a desire to revert back to the old schedule. The decision about whether to make the timing changes permanent or not was always going to be based on the feedback we received, so therefore we have taken the decision to revert back to the timings we had in place before the trial started.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for provide us with your valuable feedback on this forum.

    Kind regards,

    F.OCL

  7. Good afternoon,

The decision was taken by Senior Management to collate the information from guests directly, and not on the end of cruise questionnaire.

Please note that we have amended the FOCL website to reflect the message we have been discussing here about the trial of the different show time.

We do appreciate this may be frustrating for some of you, but in order to make a decision which suits the majority of our guests, we do need to give it time to be experienced and therefore commented on, but thank you for your views and comments.

    Kind regards,

    F.OCL

  8. Good afternoon,

Our Accountants have advised us of the following regarding VAT on our cruise ships:

At present, if a cruise is liable to VAT, F.OCL do not increase prices to reflect the VAT, the prices on-board simply become VAT inclusive and this will be stated on your on-board account statement.

Should you have any queries regarding your particular cruise, please do not hesitate to contact us on internet@fredolsen.co.uk and we will do our best to assist you.

    Regards,

    F.OCL

  9. Good morning,

Thank you for all your comments and questions regarding the trial of the earlier show time for those guests who are on second sitting for dinner.

In response to the question regarding how we are collating the responses from our guests; these are being taken from our onboard teams receiving feedback from guests whilst on their cruise and also from social media platforms, such as this one, Facebook and Twitter.

As advised previously, we listen to all of our guests comments, both positive and negative; and these will help us make the decision which suits the greatest number of our guests.

We thank you for your patience, and indeed your comments.

    Regards,

    F.OCL

  10. Good morning,

Generally, we offer Afternoon Tea on Embarkation Days, as soon as lifeboat drill is completed. However, when we have late embarkation for cruises which depart in the evening, it will just be dinner service that is offered.

We hope this helps with your queries.

    Warm regards, F.OCL

  11. We would just like to provide a quick update regarding the change to the dining and show times that we have been trialling for the past few months on board our ships. We know this is a particularly hot topic amongst our guests and the feedback we have received via these forums, emails and letters is greatly appreciated. It really helps us ensure that the on board experience we offer suits the greatest number of guests, so thank you for taking the time to comment.

So far the response to the trial has been quite evenly split and we have received large amounts of both positive and negative feedback, so much so that – at the moment – it is difficult for a definitive decision to be made. Therefore we are extending the trial to continue throughout the summer, so that we can collate further feedback from guests on board. We know that this will come as a disappointment to some, but we want to be fair to all of our guests and collecting more feedback will help us to make a fair and informed decision.

Once again we would like to thank you for your comments regarding the trial; all feedback – both positive and negative – is greatly appreciated.

    Kind regards,

    Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines

  12. The following information is given on our website as a guideline:

There are generally four formal nights on a two week cruise, with the remaining nights as smart casual.

Dress code guidelines are mentioned in your cruise ship’s Daily Times so you can be prepared for the next evening to come.

However if you would like to know the exact number of formal nights for a particular cruise please contact us using internet@fredolsen.co.uk about 6 weeks before your date of departure and we will be happy to help.

    Regards

    Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines

  13. As already posted earlier in the conversation thank you all for your messages, we appreciate you taking the time to post your comments and views.

'In response to feedback from our guests in 2014, we have been trialling a change to the format of the evenings on board, with the aim of making this time as enjoyable as possible for everyone. The trial has been running for several months on selected sailings and is due to end shortly.

Once we have reviewed all the feedback from the trial, we will then make a decision on the structure of the evenings that will satisfy the greatest number of guests. We expect to have reached this conclusion by the beginning of May, at which time we will of course advise you of the outcome. Your concerns have been passed on and so will be included within the review, along with guest feedback given on board'.

All your feedback given on this site has also been noted and passed to those departments concerned.

    Kind regards,
