  1. Our ship will be in Lipari for a day, and we are interested in seeing the island. For anyone who has been there, would we be better served renting a speed boat and seeing the island by sea, or renting scooters and experiencing the island by land?

    Thanks!

  2. We will be on the Royal Clipper in May traveling the Amalfi Coast & Sicily. Questions for those who have done this itinerary - On the day we visit Sorrento and Capri, how much time is spent in each? It looks like we do Sorrento in the morning and then cruise over to Capri in the afternoon. Is that correct? Is it worth the time to do the Pompeii excursion, or should we stay in Sorrento?

Also, the next day we are in Amalfi. Is this a full day stop and do we have time to take a private car tour throughout the area - Positano, Ravello, etc.?

    Thanks in advance!

  3. We are on the Royal Clipper out of Civitavecchia and cruising the Amalfi Coast & Sicily for 7 days in May. Tentative plan is to arrive into Milan (only flight available with mileage) on Friday and take the train straight to Rome that afternoon. Evening and next day in Rome before heading to the port on Saturday. After the cruise, we planned on heading back to Rome that Saturday and finishing our sightseeing that afternoon and evening. We have Sunday and Monday to fill, before flying out of Milan on Tuesday afternoon and are looking for suggestions. Options include hanging in Florence for a day and then a day trip to the Tuscan countryside, or maybe Siena; going to Venice; or going to Cinque Terre. Our concern is that all of our time will be spent on trains if we try to do too much.

We appreciate any advice or suggestions you may have.
