  1. Your review was fabulous from the trip to the airport going to the cruise and back on Jetblue. Also, let me put a plug in for Jetblue. Only airline that does nor charge you for your first bag. When I went on my cruise last year I packed my bag with so much stuff and that sucker weighed maybe 45 pounds. No charge on Jetblue. bring that bag on Continental or Delta I would be forking out maybe $25-$50.

Did you ever find out about being charged at Mr. Sanchos for that umbrella? I sat under a table called a palumba (spelling?). It was a big umbrella. Was that the same thing you were charged for? I thought that

Mr. Sanchos was pretty good. The only thing I did not like was that I asked for the Fishermans Platter and they said it was not included, nor was the Lobster. I cannot understand why they even have it on the menu. Right?? There was plenty to choose from . Leave it to a girl from NYC (me) to find the 1 thing to complain about (lol!) I am definitely going back when I travel in November. If anyone is going on the November 24th 5 night sailing on the Liberty drop me a line at mchugley@aol.com. See you all on the Liberty!

  2. How can anyone not love Las Olas? Last time I cruised out of Pt Everglades Priceline set me up at the Riverside Hotel at Las Olas and Federal Highway. Right next door was Cheesecake Factory. It was a little bit of heaven! 2 other reliable spots on Las Olas, for future reference is Mangos on Las Olas (their crab bisque is delish!) and The Floridian (a diner type restaurant perfect if you want breakfast anytime..actually the same is true for lunch and dinner as everything is available 24/7).

Thanks for reminding me if Mangos! i had a friend who used to live by las olas. What a great area to visit. Mangos had the best stuff~

  3. We got a taxi at the entrance back to the cruise terminal. The cost was $15 total.

I Love Cozumel, I love what Cozumel has to offer, but just looking at those travellers walking back to the ship brings back so many memories! IS that not a haul back from the entrance to the cruise terminal back to the ship??? You have a long day in Cozumel and its HOT! and that long walk back is something else... I wish they would install a moving walkway like they have at the airport!

  4. Wow! I have never continued to enjoy a review like yours. Amazing. looks like you had great weather. When I was there in November, after Thanksgiving cruise on Liberty it was windy and a bit chilly. I am looking forward to your Mr. Sanchos pics. It was a little chilly on the beach the day I went and not that many people, but after a few margaritas and all you can eat - who notices the weather? I will definitely return there when I go back on in November again. Did you guys taste the coconut ice cream? The waiter brought me 2 scoops and it was awesome.

By the way, I never thought about getting a driver in Cozumel. Can I ask you what it costs per hour? Thanks

  5. Hu Chrystal, I have read and seen many reviews and I have to say that I have never seen anyone do the kind of review you have done. It is fabulous. When you started at the beginning of your trip en route to Newark airport and on the plane, I knew that this was the kind of review I wanted to see and stay with. I knew that we would see the hotel you stayed in and more. Nice touch showing the jetblue tv set, water bottle and blue chips! I can so relate to all of it including the chocolate chip cookies at the doubletree suites. I believe thats the 1 at the Galleria. We stayed there years ago.

You have not missed a beat so far, Right on sister! i WAS on the Liberty in November and will be on her again in November.

  6. Glad you are enjoying it, thanks!!

Stephanie, we loved being on deck 3. We were close to the dining rooms, our meeting place for excursions, etc. It was a great spot. (We were in 3318, kind of mid to back of the ship).

I just looked on the deck 3 map. You were midship in a very good location.

I am in 3638 on the portside down by the elevators. I liked the idea of the cabin location as I have no one on 1 side of my cabin. I see that your cabin, as mine, has 2 upper berths as well as the 2 lower. Was it a large cabin?

They told me that because it is can accomodate up to 4 that there is

additional closet space and 15% more room space. Did you notice that its larger?

  7. So all the tour guide did was give you commentary.

All the bus driver did was to drive the bus?

Just curious, what did you expect the bus driver and tour guide to do?

What I ment was that the host and driver did nothing special. People were stating that they had hosts/ drivers who did special things or gave them

special courtesies. THe driver drove and the host yapped . I felt compelled to give a tip as everyone did after the hosts mentioned that tips were appreciated.

My point is: we paid for a bus-driven tour and thats what we got.

    NOTHING MORE..

  8. On my December Navigator cruise I went on the Cancun Shopping Spree

(a note to anyone thinking about that: don't.)

At any rate at the end of the "tour" the guide said the usual "Tips for

your guide (him) and your driver (he named the name) are always appreciated." First of all this guy did nothing except smile and chat

and told us where we passing on the bus. The driver drove.

I did not feel that a tip was in order for either of them. However, as

everyone around me was dipping in their pocketbooks I did not want to

stand out so I did give them a few bucks each.

These people are doing their job and personally I think its rude to ask

people to give tips. I do not feel that way because I thought the

Cancun excursion was overpriced and not worth the 8 hours and $58.

It was okay and I would never do it again nor recommend it.

I just think tipping in this instance is something you should want to do,

not something you are embarrassed into doing,

  9. Can anyone let me know how to go about finding a cabin mate? (yes, I'm too cheap to pay the single supplement).

Hi - I just read your post and I can just say that you should look for

"deals" on cruises because you are better off paying a little something extra than rooming with an unknown. I did this as a kid when I was in my

20's and I lived to regret it. Once I roomed with 3 elderly women in a

quad share (I am not sure they do them anynore) and although the women were great, its really never that comfortable.

Look for a cruise special and then book - mark my words, you are better

off and then host a party on the ship by arranging a table with other

people on the cruise. You will have all the pleasure of travelling with friends and not sharing your personal space...
