  1. That's quite a collection you have there...

I find the RCCL cards above interesting..

..like the ones with the star-shaped holes punched in them...never saw that before!

And where did you get the blank cards?

    - you pestered someone at the Purser's Desk for them, huh? :)

    .

The card with the silhouette of people on it is what they were issuing to people under 21. The star holes tell staff about ages or if they paid for the unlimited soft drink refills if i remember correctly. Yes, i had to beg for the two blank cards :) Im going to try and get some more blanks when i go on the Monarch in a few weeks :)

  2. Know that Princess is now confiscating cruise cards upon disembarking the ships.

Other than collecting casino chips from cruises, I collect cards from cruises too. It wouldn't matter if they did take mine cus i accidentally on purpose loose mine quite a few times on cruises so i can get extras to take home:)

Theres actually others who collect and trade these cards too. Heres a web site of card collectors...

  3. No, oh gosh - haven't been on it in years! I think we last took a trip on it back in 1999 or so...like I said, only a "trip" for when relatives were in town, give them the "cruise" experience, lol. I do wonder what it and its cruises are like today, though. Sorry I can't help you out with your collection - maybe it's time for a Discovery cruise for you? :)

I may try to one day, but the drive from St Augustine to south Florida is a killer:)

  4. We remember the Scandinavian Dawn here...when it was first introduced, we were invited to see it and go on a complimentary day cruise aboard her. (That was the only time we sailed on SeaEscape; we usually stuck to Discovery's day cruises when relatives visited us.)

Do you still go on the Discovery?? I shure would like to buy some casino chips from that boat if anyone ever goes on it. I have chips from Discovery but i dont know anyone whos been on it in years so i bet they have new chips on there that i need for my collection!!

  5. In the 90s they sold the Scandinavian Dawn to Discovery Cruises. At that time both SeaEscape and Discovery were both doing "cruises to nowhere" and trips to the Bahamas. Then in the late 90s i think, the SeaEscape went to only doing cruises to nowhere and Discovery went to only doing the trips to Bahamas.

SeaEscape shut down just a few months ago. They were losing too much money after the Seminole casinos started offering table games.
