  1. We will be cruising in the Haven for the first time next week. Regarding the tips for butler and concierge, is there a way to add their tips to our bill, say via a voucher, or do we need cash

Thanks in advance for any info

  2. We will be taking our third cruise with Viking. Last year prior to the cruise we received an offer from Viking to select a gift as a thank you. Hadn’t heard anything about a similar offer this year so I wrote to them. Below is part of the response

Regrettably, the returning guest Gift Program has been discontinued for sailings that embark this year, as we are currently exploring new and exciting ways to enhance the Viking experience for all of our guests

i think it’s too bad, the gift idea was a nice touch

  3. We were booked on the Turquoise Caribbean cruise at the end of this past January, in DV2, received an email from Viking that the cruise was overbooked. Would we be willing to switch to the West Indies Explorer?

They gave us our pick of Explorer Suite, $500 cash back and $500on board credit, not surprisingly we said yes. However we were traveling with friends who had not received the offer. Air fare was included so they handled the changes. When I explained that, the same offer was extended to them. It was an amazing experience and the suite was wonderful plus we had 3 extra days!

  4. I saw somewhere a reference to a difference in the walks to the caves, one being less strenuous and steep then the other. Can anyone tell me if this is correct and if so which one is the easier one.

  5. Thanks for the info, it is good to know we won't have to haul bags off with us. We have a cabin assignment for the Boston to New Orleans portion of the cruise, but we just booked the Bermuda cruise today, our room is balcony guarantee for that cruise. The rep I spoke with said they will try to see if we can keep the same cabin for both cruises, I hope so, saves wear and tear on us.

  6. We will be doing the cruise to Bermuda out of Boston on Oct 31 and then the repositioning cruise to New Orleans immediately after. Will we have to go through customs when we return to Boston and if we do does that mean we will have to take our luggage off the ship?

  7. We will be heading to Alaska next month and had booked the 12 day Denali/Alyeska tour, however the website it displaying the 12 day Denali/Fairbanks tour for us. I have spoken with our PCC and he has assured us that we are booked on the correct tour and that this is a website issue. I was wondering if anyone else has seen anything similar.

  8. I had a new issue, I was able to view my reservation when I logged in, however the web site now had us on the wrong pre cruise land excursion in Alaska. I called our pcc and he said that we are booked on the correct one and that the web site, I asked him to send us an email to that effect and he did (quote below)

" Unfortunately our website is showing inaccurate information upon online check in. There is no issue with the reservation. It’s just an issue with our website. There is no need for concern. Everything in my system is still accurate. If you have any questions feel free to call me."

That seems to me to be a pretty big issue, and they should get their act together re. the web site

  9. We have had the same problem, though what's interesting is I have two upcoming cruises, one of them I can view the reservation just fine but on the other I get the error message. I have had no luck with getting a response from NCL, I have called the number that pops up, emailed technical support, emailed social media and still no answer. Hope this gets resolved soon it seems as though there are a number of people having this same issue, there was another thread about it several days ago.

  10. We are having what sounds like the same issue with our Alaskan cruise. For two weeks now I have been unable to view my reservation for an upcoming cruise with land package. My log in is fine I can view the reservation I have for a later cruise. I have called with little success (long wait times and no answers), written to social media and even received a phone call promising me it would be checked into but still no answer.

We are traveling with several other couples and at least two of them (the only ones I've spoken to recently) are having the same issue.

I am really hoping for an answer soon, this is really the first time in a number of cruises (we are Platinum latitudes) that Norwegian has let us down.

  11. We only booked a guaranty one time, a cruise to Bermuda out of Boston. Our cabin was an obstructed porthole view, a week or two prior I saw we had been assigned an oceanview. I was happy, but got happier when we got a call offering us an upsell to a suite for only $200 for both of us. We took it, it was one of the new suites on the Dawn (12032), no balcony but huge and all the suite perks. It was amazing.

  12. Anyone else having trouble with the website? When I log in I can see my booked (and paid for) cruise but when I try to view the reservation I get a message that it can't be accessed and gives a # to call. I called they said my reservation is fine and attempted to put me through to web site support, after being oh hold for about 20 minutes I gave up. I have some friends traveling on the same cruise and they are having the same issue.

  13. We are booked on an inland tour through NCL prior to our cruise in Alaska. I was wondering if anyone had experience doing this type of tour. If so,how far in advance did you receive detailed information about the tour? For example, the names of hotels, times, meals that are included etc.

    Thanks for any info!
