  1. The majority of my twelve cruises that I have been on, I have been in the 18-22 year old age range.  The difference between this age range and adults on the ship is that this age range is usually traveling with their families.  Therefore, their parents/guardians have a partner or friend that they traveled with and the young adult does not.  When adults go to the events, they know someone and have someone to interact with, while the young adult does not have that companion.  I think that the cruise line should have a structured event in the beginning that has a staff member actually there and facilitating an event, instead of it being a casual meet-up.  Possibly have ice-breakers and other activities that are utilized during college/university orientation that can be recreated on a cruise.  I don't think that the structure and "host" need to be continued after the first event, since those young adults can take it from there.

  2. I am a millennial and I couldn't name a single cruise director that I've had on any of my cruises.  As someone who has cruised mostly in my 20's, I believe that the cruise director could have a larger presence among the passengers between the ages of 18 and 20.  This age group is old enough to enjoy the adult venues, but not allowed to drink alcohol, which leaves them in a tricky position.  Many of these guests are travelling with their families, so it is more difficult to find people their own age and mingle.  I also think that the cruise director can enhance the club environment, much like NCL does during their White Out party.  Many times during each of my cruises I have walked into the club during prime time and see everyone spread out sitting in the corners of the room.  I am definitely more critical about this topic because I have worked various events as someone who was hired to get the crowd dancing and engage with guests of all ages.  RCCL should definitely utilize their staff more to enhance the guests' experience.

  3. Hello Everyone!

I am looking into a 9-night cruise from Cape Liberty, NJ.  I've been on cruises that go down the coast and I will never again do that!  I wanted to know if anyone has completed the trek from Labadee, Haiti to Cape Liberty, NJ at the end of May.  That is the only portion of the cruise that I am concerned about.  Did you get nauseous?

Thank you very much in advance for all your help!

  4. Hello Everyone!

I am about 95 days out from my Escape to Bermuda cruise. I am unable to book my dinner reservations until next Tuesday. Typically, I book my dinner reservations around the show times, but on my planner, many of the shows do not require reservations. How do I know when to book my dinner reservations, if I do not know... 1. the show times 2. the show dates? When I cruised on the Breakaway, I had to complete reservations for both dinner and shows.

Thanks in advance for your help :)

  5. Mine is the exact same prices as when I booked two days ago but now I could get $100 obc. If I call will they apply that or would I need to cancel and rebook? I hate to chance losing the cabin I want

I have a guaranteed interior that I booked about a week ago. I saw the $100 OBC and called. They said that I have to pay $40 more to get the $100 OBC. Hey, I saved $60, that's better than $0 :)

  6. I am 100% Type A and certainly go overboard with packing and planning. I mostly wear a bathing suit and cover-up all day, which makes the daytime part of my packing very simple. For dinner/nighttime outfits, I create a table on MS Word which has the following columns: outfit (a description), purse, shoes and jewelry. I lay everything out on the bed and try everything on, exactly how I would wear it on the cruise (yes, even shoes and jewelry). After I have my outfits planned, I put them in the table according to the order in which I will wear them. I make sure that I'm not wearing the same color or same shoes on back to back nights. To make matters "worse", I will plan my outfits for my December cruise at the end of summer and place them in a special area in my closet, since I will not need that wardrobe until next summer. I bring a printed out version of my table with me on the cruise, which makes getting ready extremely easy.
