  1. I second the idea that being on a Disney cruise is a pretty exciting and wonderful experience. We don't buy many extras because the "basics" are so fantastic. My kids are happy to be on the ship with their family, and we have plenty to do without buying extras. Is your grandaughter's heart really set on the Tea party, or will she be just as thrilled to have a hotdog on deck with you and see Goofy walk by? Both are fun! We have done Palo and once lucked into a cabana, but the cruises without those extras have been just as great. I hope you have a warm, fun, funny, exciting, wonder-ful time with your family!

  2. We are thrilled to be taking our 2 1/2 year old granddaughter on the Dec. 27 Breakaway cruise. I know she can't stay in clubs by herself, but there are Guppy activities for adult/child. What are they like? What else do you recommend for kids her age? She is a great kid - funny, happy and interested in everything. Any tips for us?

  3. Our understanding is that reserving an Oceania Suite entitles us to 5 bottles of booze in the room. We actually rarely drink, so this is not a big deal for us. Can we ask Oceania to substitute something else (onboard credit, for instance?) We don't want to carry bottles off at the end of the trip, and we are not big partiers. Thanks for any suggestions!

  4. We requested an air deviation for our October 22 - 29 2014 Gems of Antiquity cruise. The three of us wanted to fly into Istanbul a day early, and depart from Athens 5 days after the cruise got in. My sister had priced out the cost of flights, and they came to about $1300. Oceania put us on the exact flights we wanted, for just the $175 pp deviation fee - no extra charge. With the $850 air allowance + the $175 air deviation fee, we feel that our "$1025" tickets are a real bargain! Hooray!
