  1. It's been 3 years since I have been on a HAL ship. Can someone tell me for a balcony stateroom what type of robe do they supply on the Nieuw Amersterdam? I don't care for terry robes and just wondered if that's what they have, I would prefer to bring my own. Thanks.

  2. From one Jersey girl to three others, I just had to tell you how much I enjoyed your review and all the pictures. There is no doubt the three of you are true friends and really know how to enjoy one another. That is such a blessing. It's been a few years since I have been on RCCL cruise (have been cruising Celebrity and Holland America) but as of last week's booking my sister (who will be coming down from Jersey), my daughter and I will be on the Liberty November 29th. We have all read your reviews, and after seeing your pictures and descriptions, we are so ready to go. I have been to Cozumel several times, but have a new perspective on what to do there. Sis and I have been on the Freedom and Radiance, but this will be my daughter's first cruise on RCCL. Thanks again for your all your writings. I will be looking forward to more from you. Happy Cruising!

  3. I decided I would rent the clamshell while they are still available. Can someone tell me how that works? Are you assigned a specific clamshell or do you just grab one as you get there? If we go back to ship and then return to island, will we still have same shell or take whatever is available? Appreciate all replies, new to HA.

  4. I was able to book mine right away with Carnival for May 2012. I would think there is a chance that they are all sold out for your sailing and they are having a wait list made in case someone cancels. I know Carnival has a department to call for these things and would think Holland has one also. I may be just a quick call to find out. Good Luck

After I posted above, I thought about it and believe that is probably the case so I will just have to hope for the best. Thank you

  5. Booked for Feb 19 southern caribbean with stop at HMC. I tried to reserve cabana and was put on "wait list". Can anyone tell me how long they usually leave you there before they tell you if one is open or not? I mean, I don't really understand the way you purchase this. Either one is available or not, no? Would love to surprise my sis and anxious to know if this is going to happen or not.

  6. I actually am paying for meet and greet. It's the type of car I'm interested in. I really wanted to have a stretch limo. Maybe I'm being to picky, but for the money I'm paying I'd like to be sure I'm getting what I ask for. Wondering if anyone has had experience with Aerocar?

  7. This Alaska cruise is our "Once in a lifetime vacation that's been a dream for years". I have spent hours over the planning for the past 12 months. One thing I want to do for DH is surprise him with transfer from YVR to the Pan Pacific by reserving a stretch limo for the two of us. Currently I have a reservation with Aerocar service, however, in making it, I specified I wanted a stretch limo and was told I would get the "smallest one". When I asked her to verify it was a stretch limo, she repeated it would be her smallest one. Their website shows a towncar as one of the vehicles. I don't want that. We will be bringing at least 3 good size suitcases plus our carryon. I really want the limo effect to start off our vacation and am willing to pay for it. Has anyone had just two people in a stretch limo? Do you think I should cancel this reservation and go with another company? Feedback appreciated.

  8. Love reading your review..

"As you can see from my signature tags, I have cruised Holland America and Carnival (are you allowed to say that word on the Celebrity page?). This was our first cruise with Celebrity. I will not do comparison's. My thoughts on this are simple. Any cruise is a great cruise, all lines have something unique to offer that is different from others. In many cases it's like comparing Apples to Oranges. Some days I feel like an Apple and on other days I feel like an Orange...either way they're both fruit and offer you something good just like cruise lines. Each offer benefits that the other doesn't. "

I also love your attitude about cruising. I've been on old ships, new ships, small, large, good and bad. Each one of them gave me something unique, and I've learned that a cruise is what you make it.

    Thanks again!

  9. Yes, I remember Chandris. It was non stop from boarding to disembarking. The one thing I have learned over the years in cruising and other vacations is that I am responsible for my own good time. Yes, it was great. I am glad that I have those memories and shared cruising during that era. This, however, is a new time, and while things have changed, I have to say, even with the changes, nothing beats a cruise.... nothing.
