  1. It is funny....I keep reading all kinds of posts on this guy. I came across another one today that has a picture of him--sort of. It is only of his back, but it gives an idea of his height/build. The pics of him were on page 3 of someone's review--I think I posted the link so it will take you right to page 3.

    Here is the link:

  2. So I read this post a few days ago because I will be staying San Juan next month. Today at our lunch, a co-worker was telling us about a story on his son and Senor Frogs.

After he got done telling us this story, he went on to warn me that he had met a man from Milwaukee, WI on the way back to the ship and that this man's father had been beaten severly and that the San Juan police was likely involved. My co-worker spoke with this man for several minutes. The man was looking for money to get himself to the airport where a private jet was supposedly waiting for him. My co-worker gave him $10. The man even gave an email address so that he could properly thank my co-worker later. My co-worker said he questioned him because he too was originally from Wisconson. He said he never even considered that this was a scam.

I kinda chuckled and then printed off the original post from this thread. I think he met this scam artist. I am just glad that I am aware of the scam and won't be taken if I run across him!

  3. My friends did the Xunantunich ruins trip last year. They said it was really interesting and they enjoyed the ruins. They did not like that it took almost 2 hours to get there! I opted for a city tour because I didn't want to spend a total of 4 hours on a bus!! Here are a few pics from their adventure:

    Hope you enjoy the pics!

One thing I remember people saying about the River Wallace and Altun Ha tour was that the boat was not covered....the sun shines directly onto you for the entire boat ride.

  4. When did you sail?

The OP must contend with the discrepancy between Daylight Saving Time in the USA and in Mexico.

The United States will move the clocks forward in early March. Mexico doesn't change clocks until early April, like the USA used to do. During most of March Cozumel is two hours behind Florida, not one.

We sailed in early April....so I guess it may have been after they switched???? I guess the OP should just be sure to check the time carefully when they leave the ship. :D

  5. You have to pay a $250 deposit for each person in the cabin. Then you just have to have it paid off a few months before your sailing date. For example...my cruise leaves on April 4th, and our final payment is due on Jan. 19th. You can't book any excursions through Carnival until your final payment is made. There is no set monthy payment. You can do as much or as little as you want.

  6. I just fold them like the instructions say and staple together. We care a small school staple with us. Have never had any problems, don't know why so many go to such great lengths

I can tell you one good story about why people might go a little crazy when attaching the luggage tags.

When we cruised on the Freedom in 2008, it was raining really bad in Miami when we were leaving. The luggage was getting wet as it was sitting on the edge of the dock in the big cages waiting to be loaded. There were 5 of us cruising that year. Four of the bags arrived to the cabins by about 6pm. The 5th bag was missing. As it turned out, all of my friend's luggage tags had come off. We guessed because they had gotten wet and ripped off easily. Her bag didn't turn up until after 11pm that night.....tagless. It was sitting outside the theater along with about 40 other tagless bags.

So, I know that I make sure my tags are securely fastened to my bag. I also put one on the inside. I don't want to be searching for my bag until all hours of the first night. It's better to be safe than sorry! :D

  7. Our group of nine cruisers all stayed on the Lido this past April on the Valor. We were in cabins 9244, 9248, 9252, and 9260. Everyone in our group agreeed that this was an awesome location! We felt a little bit of motion---but it's a moving ship! You will feel some motion wherever you are!! One of the great things about staying on this deck was the fact that you don't have to catch an elevator to get to the 'action'. Everything is located on this deck.

We found this deck to be so great, we have cabins booked on Lido for our next cruise on the Victory!
