  1. On our last cruise on Anthem, we saw a lifeguard jump into the pool to save a young child. It was a split second, and the lifeguard jumped in and saved the child before it became more dangerous/serious. Happy to have lifeguards on board.

  2. We will be on Oasis in August, so happily following along!

If it isn't too much trouble...we are staying in a Central Park Balcony and are wondering what the menus are that are being offered at Giovannis and Sabor...I know it is not the typical lunch menu as Giovannis is a very very limited menu...not sure about Sabor. Would greatly appreciate any help. Thank you, and thanks for doing the live report! Enjoy your vacation!

  3. I am having trouble with the new website in creating a pdf of my cruise history for our records. This has saved us a few times in the past, and just again today.

"Printing" a pdf of the cruise history on the new website only captures the first page (first 2 cruises). I figured I could just create a bunch of screen shots, but then realized it doesn't even say my name or C&A number anywhere, except the dashboard (a totally different page). Any solutions that people have tried?

    Thanks

  4. My family was just on Anthem last week. We left our 2 kids, 5 and 2, with no adults on board in Aquanauts and the nursery, respectively. We were only off the ship very briefly to buy some things across the street.

Neither Aquanauts nor the nursery cared that we left the kids on the ship with no adults. The nursery jotted down our cell number, but only after we gave it to them and assured us all would be fine. Aquanauts wondered why we were bothering to even tell them, and they would not take a phone number.

We have done this before previously as well, for a similar situation (for only a few minutes, within walking distance), with no issues.

  5. We are looking cabins on deck 12 (assigned from guarantee), and found online that many cabin balconies on deck 12 have struts (I think this is the right term for the overhang supports). We don't mind the obstruction or the overhang, really. But we have a few cabins side by side, and was really hoping to open up the balcony dividers. In the pictures it looks like the struts restrict this.

Anyone know from experience - would really appreciate any advice. Our alternative is to just pick cabins more forward, where I don't believe there are struts.

    Thank you!!!!

  6. Glad to be able to post the menus for everyone. We did enjoy the food. It was a 7 night cruise, and the menus are in the order of the nights. Lobster was on our 2nd of 2 formal nights. We missed the chilled soups as well, but the hot soups were very good. And nope, sorry, no room service menu - but we thought it was lacking anyway.

  7. I agree that cash is king, but here is an idea for anyone who doesn't drink alcohol. Our family drinks very very little alcohol, so we barely touch our alotted 2 bottles of wine per cabin that we bring on board. We have given out the unopened bottles of wine as gifts, along with cash, and it was always really appreciated. Plus, I figure if they don't drink, it's never hard to find a friend that does. :)

  8. Yay, I finally got a response with a confirmed seat! Although they confirmed by replying to my original email, I can't help but feel that the follow up direct to Allure email made them more responsive. The timing was just too perfect to be coincidental, and I have been trying to reach them for a while.

Thank you so much for your help, Clarea!

  9. I was about 20 weeks pregnant with my first on a cruise. I had all day sickness the whole entire pregnancy, so I just took things easy. I had to leave dinner once, and I continued to do the things that helped with nausea before the cruise (for me, seabands and mints!). I took it easy at ports as well, but still has a great time. The best part was that a cruise can be as relaxing as you want it to be! :)

Fortunately, I don't get seasick. But for seasickness, you can buy all natural ginger pills. Ask the OB before, of course as I'm not sure if it's allowed when pregnant, but my mom gets seasick very easily and swears by them.

I am pregnant now with my 2nd and we will be going on a cruise when I am at 22 weeks. Good luck! :)

  10. Hi Royal Caribbean experts! I was hoping you could please help our family pick a cabin on the Anthem of the Seas. I know so little about the ship and staterooms, so any help would be appreciated.

We are looking for a good cabin/s choice for a family of 5. We have previously stayed in family oceanview staterooms for 5 (the larger ones, like aft balcony on Celebrity Summit, or deck 8 (?) forward on Freedom) and have loved it. We don't mind at all having to share a bathroom, nor do we mind the sharing a smaller space with 5 people. We were able to sail in these rooms for a great value.

Are there any similar larger family staterooms on Anthem? Or will we need to get connecting staterooms? Inside, oceanview, balcony - doesn't really matter to us. We just enjoy spending time together as a family on a wonderful cruise vacation! :)

    Thank you!!!!!

  11. Hi and thanks so much.

As far as I know the ships are very similar. Other then décor, I think the Dinner Show, Cirque Dreams on Breakaway, instead of the Illusionarium, is the main difference. I am sure there are NCL experts on here who can advise if there is anything more of note...

    Kind regards

    megacruiser

Thank you for getting back to me and for the info! Very glad to hear that the ships are very similar, since I fell in love with the Getaway from your review/pictures. I didn't know that the dinner shows were different - if we end up going, we are hoping to go the first night with our free UDPs! :)
