  1. We had the exact same issues with weird open/close times back in November on the Liberty (that whole cruise was a nightmare, but I digress). We missed food by minutes several times. The times posted for the buffet in the Fun Times were incorrect and the lines for the options that were open were very long. Hope that's not the new trend, we've been on several Carnival cruises and haven't had issues before. We'll be on the Dream in March, hoping things are worked out!

  2. We recently booked Tours Plaza in Cozumel and would definitely use them again! Antonio was our driver and he was very friendly and informative. We were limited on time but he helped us decide where to go and made sure we were able to see the sights that were most important to us. Highly recommend!

  3. Thank you all so much for the suggestions! We are booked on Liberty on November 19, so we're holding off on purchasing any excursions until we know she's back up and running and our sailing is still on (the previous 2 have been canceled due to mechanical issues).

I'm pretty sure we'll do the Turtle Farm in Grand Cayman. I agree with asalligo, the non-water excursions that Carnival offers look pretty boring.

We're debating Dunn's River Falls and Mystic Mountain in Jamaica. We climbed the falls about 15 years ago (and it was fabulous!), but don't think we could manage the slippery rocks anymore. Has anyone walked up the steps on the side? Just wondering if it would be a little less strenuous. :)

  4. Found on John Heald's page this morning. I'm concerned - we're on the 11/19 sailing. :(

John Heald - So many of you have been asking about the Liberty and I had originally been informed she was sailing today. But the technical problem has resulted in us canceling today's cruise

Every guest on the ship has. Even informed and of course our wonderful staff are making sure that they are all taken care of

I know lots of the people in the ship read this page and therefore I wanted to apologise myself for the disappointment you are all feeling

Here is part of the information guests have. Even given

"We will provide you with a full refund of your cruise and any pre purchased excursions and Fun Shop items. We’d love nothing more than the opportunity to provide you with the cruise experience you were expecting and will gladly apply a 100% credit of the amount paid for this cruise toward your next 2-5 day cruise on Carnival. Additionally, a check for $90 per person will be mailed to your home representing the onboard credit we had promised and reimbursement for your meals yesterday.

Guests who wish to disembark this morning and do not need any assistance with their luggage, may proceed to the gangway as early as 10AM. Shuttles to private parking facilities will commence at that time while transportation to the port parking lot will be available as of 11AM. Porter service will commence at 10am for those guests who need assistance with their luggage. If you have independent air arrangements and need assistance rescheduling your flights, please contact Guest Services. We will cover any change fees you may incur. A letter with additional information will be delivered to your stateroom this morning. In the meantime, thank you once again for your understanding. We look forward to welcoming you back onboard soon."

I will let you know asap about future Liberty cruises.

    Thanks so much

  5. Our family will be cruising to Cozumel, Grand Cayman and Falmouth in a few weeks and we are looking for excursion ideas.

My husband and I will be taking our 2 youngest kids, 11 and 12, and they are not fans of the beach (shocking, I know!). We're looking for something easy-moderate level, husband has a bad back so nothing too strenuous. He's a bit of a photography buff so we'd love to do some sightseeing, but don't want the kids to get bored.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! :)

  6. We are booked on Magic 3/6/2016, the first cruise after dry-dock. We are not able to book excursions yet, the Carnival site states "We are still scheduling shore excursions for this sailing." We've been booked for over 2 weeks (didn't know about the dry-dock until after we booked) - has anyone else had this issue? I'm a little nervous since we're going during spring break.

I also read somewhere that the itinerary changed for this sailing.

  7. The water toys for climbing and jumping are in fairly deep water for safety reasons (to keep me from hitting the bottom when I cannon ball my daughters :p); I've seen some kids there with life jackets -not sure if they brought them or rented them. My guess is that even with life vests you will need to be with them all the time.

You might look at Playa Mia (with a water park designed for the under 10 crowd) or Paradise Beach with a HUGE pool.

    Thanks!!! :D

  8. We're cruising this month with our 9 and 10 year olds. They are not great swimmers (neither am I). In the pictures I've seen it looks like the water around the aquatic park is fairly shallow and close to the beach. Is that the case? I've heard that some of the other water parks are pretty deep and far from the shore. We really want to find a beautiful beach that's not too crowded, but we don't want the kids to be bored.

  9. Is it just you and your husband? If so, you might be interested in doing an all day excursion to the Mayan ruins of Tulum. If your children are older, they might enjoy it.

My wife is a photo buff as well. She got some great shots there. You might be interested in seeing the pictures she made into a slide show for her website. Here is link that will take you there.

    Tulum shore excursion

Great pictures! Tulum would be nice, but I think it would make for a long day for the kids. Hopefully we'll get there someday!

  10. We have been to Cozumel a few times, and have mostly done one-stop excursions (Chankanaab, Mr. Sancho's, Passion Island). We would like to see more of the island this time, hubby's a photography buff.

I've heard that the Bar Hop Bus is a good way to see some great spots, but our kids will be with us (9 and 10). Any suggestions?
