what kind of hot sauce did you get and why is the Pharmacy so interesting? We are still trying to figure out what to do in Amber Cove we don't have that one booked yet?

Been wondering the same about Amber Cove.  We have Atlantis booked just to do it.   Will prob just hit the beach in Grand Turk.   Have no idea if anything is really worth doing in Amber Cove.   Might stay on the ship but not sure. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Question for the People’s Republic of Cruise Critic,

I’m fairly new to cruising and I’m wondering if I missed something as far as etiquette is concerned. I have been approached three times tonight with people complaining about my “devil pants.” They cover everything, which doesn’t seem to be a requirement, but they do. It’s just the print that seems to be an issue for some. This is what they look like all over:

I don’t want to be the thing that makes anyone uncomfortable, but I have a hard time imagining that my pants are truly crossing that line, given what I’ve observed others wearing. Opinions? Are people just being ridiculous or am I breaking some sort of unwritten cruise rule?

Wow, the audacity.   Nothing wrong with that at all, but even if I thought there was I know well enough to mind my own damn business.  SMH

These discounts may only apply to specific items and at specific times.

I tried to book three treatments for the same person that said bundle eligible and when I went to checkout there was no discount.🤷🏻‍♂️

They are free for anyone (at least the first time on MG and Celebration, right now for any number of visits on Jubilee), but if you have fixed dining, you cannot go till after 7:30 or 7:45 (like mz-s stated). If you have YTD, you can go anytime by making a reservation on the Hub App. 2nd visit is charged, unless you are on Jubilee during its inaugural season (again, unsure when that ends).

Can I change to YTD directly with Carnival or do I need to have my TA do it?

Nights 2 and 6 are generally formal nights.

MDR is included every night. Chibang and Cucina are included with YTD for one visit, but we visited Chibang once and Cucina twice on Jubilee last week and were not charged extra for the 2nd visit. YMMV. You just request a table on the HUB app in the restaurant you want to dine in when YTD dinner time begins.

You can use the general number for guest services (usually extension 7777), but there is no dedicated # that I know of, or use the dedicated Diamond/Platinum line for guest services on deck 8 aft.

Are the included alternate restaurants only free with YTD?   We have late dinner, but if that is more restrictive with other choices I would want to change that I think.

I just looked for my cruise and it shows $14.95.  They have apparently raised it recently.  I bought it 3 weeks ago for $9.95.  That's a 50% increase.  Carnival needs to pay down that debt.

$9.95 is what I remember seeing.  Typical

  7. I have not been on either ship but was set on booking the Celebration because it was newer before changing to the Mardi Gras because Port Canaveral was more convenient for us.  Based on the research I did, I was comfortable switching because the ships are so similar and both pretty new.

  8. I decided to call the TA and they told me that it usually shows up about a week from sailing.  So have to front the money for some stuff we wanted to order right now.   We will spend much more than we got onboard anyway so I guess it is not a big deal.

  9. So I booked a cruise with a TA that gave OBC.  Is there a way to use that to purchase the available packages ahead of time directly through Carnival, or does it not show up until you are on board?

  10. So I have not cruised for a while and wanted to see what thoughts people have on the these balcony cabin types.  We are currently looking at a cruise this summer on the Celebration.

-Forward Extended Balcony-how obstructed are these views?  Worth the extra room?

-Cloud 9 Spa balcony-Are the amenities worth the money?  This would be like $350 more than the basic balcony.

Suite-entry level suite is like $1000 more than the basic balcony.   Worth the perks?  Seems to me the Cloud 9 balcony is more bang for your buck?

  11. Thanks for the responses so far.   I guess I would clarify that I don’t “need” to go on a RCCL mega ship.   In general we like to go on newer ships but I really wanted to see if anyone had insight on today’s Carvival vs. RCCL and those two ships in general: Celebration vs. Wonder of the Seas.

Also is the bang for the buck worth it for an entry level suite?  I guess these are what are referred to as mini suites although it does not say that.   It would be the cheapest suite though on Carnival.

    Thanks for any additional insight.

  12. Going to take a cruise this summer after about a dozen years being away.  Had kids and have been doing Disney and “family” vacations but this will be our first real vacation without our kids since we had them.  Have done RCL, Carnival, Princess & NCL in the past.

Right now we are debating between a suite on the Carnival Celebration vs. a balcony on the RCL Wonder of the Seas.  We like the newer ships with all the bells and whistles, but really just looking to relax on this cruise.

We enjoyed both Carnival & RCL when we took them before, but again it has been a long time.   Carnival seems like the best deal in cruising right now, but I really would also like to go on one of these RCL mega ships.

    Any opinions on this?

  13. MIght one politely inquire why anyone mistrusts the purity and taste of Princess' onboard water, which flows freely and for free? Or for that matter - and given numerous studies - trusts the purity of bottled water, much of which is simply repurposed tap water, plenty of which contains nasty contaminents? Why does anyone schlep water onboard, instead of doing your wallet and your environment a favor and carrying a refillable stainless steel water bottle?

    I'm serious: why?

Who knows...people are obsessed with bottled water including my DW. She will not even drink the filtered water from our refrigerator.
