  1. We always get casino cash to use for various items. You will get cards in your room in amounts up to $100, depending on how much you buy. You take the cards to the cashier in the casino and cash them in. You can cash in as much as you want at a time. It is a great way to have cash on a cruise, but not have to fly with it. Just remember to cash them in before you get to a port because the casino is not open when docked.

  2. We have not been on the Koningsdam, but it looks like from the deck plans that they have two verandah cabins with larger balconies on deck 4. These are cabins 4154 & 4156. We have been in this type of Verandah cabin on the Nordam and will be in one on the OOsterdam this fall. These cabins have a double width balcony due to an inside employee stairwell. These cabins were completely covered on the Nordam and are very private. When I searched for these cabins there were still available, you have to put in cabin number in order to check on availability.

  3. if you want a larger balcony in a verandah cabin, 4166 on the upper promenade deck has a double width balcony. I checked and it appears to be available on a couple of Feb cruises. We had a cabin similar to it on the Nordam and loved the size. On the deck plans there isn't a cabin behind it and 4166 and 4168 both have larger balconies.

  4. we in 4164 for two cruises in 2012. We loved the wide balcony. It was our first cabin near the stern and never noticed any additional noise. We would book it again if it is available. I think 4166 is a handicap room without a tub, but not sure. I have some pics of balcony if I can dig them out.

  5. We were on the Royal last month and you can book by the day by calling the reservation line at 8am the preceding day for next day. We were able to reserve our loungers without the hassle of getting up early on the day you want it. I don't know if this is available on any other ships. Good Luck

  6. Hi Rick - long time no talk.

I just googled spice beach club and their latest report (Oct 2011) shows a lot of construction completed. Looks nice.

We were going to go there early Dec but have since booked a snorkeling tour with Compass Bonaire.. looks good, but who knows ??

Hi Doug, just trying to find beach day in Bonaire. I heard there was construction still going on. We decided to go with the Crown this year instead of the Emerald. When we booked the price was over 1200 less for only 3 less days. We hope you enjoy the Emerald this year. By the way, we're staying at the Rennanisance on the 25th. I saw on your roll call you were staying there. Will you be there on the 25th?

  7. Now that the fall sailings have started. If anyone has been on the Spice Beach club excursion by Princess, please let us know how it was. I've heard there is construction going on, and not sure how this affects the experience. Thanks for any replies.

  8. We're on the Coral in November for Panama Canal. We booked a BD on the Caribe Deck on the "bump" because the balcony is larger

I'm not sure, but I think the BD balconies on the middle bumpout are actually smaller than the other Caribe balconies. Maybe someone who has stayed there can give you better info.
