Your request is a bit vague.  Could you give more details please?

just wondering about shore excursions that would be available for purchase at the port.  We are used to the Caribbean where there are always tour companies offering “island” tours or something like that.  Or there is a beach close buy or shops to visit.  Any suggestions would be appreciated

  2. We are on the Apex next month and wondering how the b2b process works.  Do we get a second covid test on the ship for week 2?  Also I checked in using the Celebrity app and was a bit surprised it gave me a time for week 2.  I've only done b2bs on Princess and they just walk you off as a group and then you can immediately go back on.  Thanks in advance for the info

  3. @cdn_third.   I have not seen that large of a rebate from the large warehouse TA in Canada.  We are on the Apex Jan 13-29 2022 and we booked this back in 2019 Black Friday.    I was pretty pleased with our rate - $2000 taxes in for two including all the usual perks plus $600 OBC.  Each week is that amount.   Granted it’s for an inside but I’m one of the few that doesn’t mind insides.   I’m never in our room except to sleep and I like the dark.  We booked this cruise thru a large US cruise specialist.

I'm getting medallions shipped to me and I printed the boarding passes just as a backup.  I really, really want to get onto that ship!!!  :classic_biggrin:

I read on another thread that another Canadian had the medallions sent to the hotel they stayed in the night before the cruise.  If you plan to stay in Ft Lauderdale the night before your cruise that may be an option for you as well.

We are staying at an Airbnb in FLL so no such luck.  I'll just pick up at the port.

  5. We are on our first Medallion cruise in January b2b on the sky.  I've filled out the ocean ready and all is green check except the last box as we cannot get the medallions sent to a Canadian address.  Should I print the boarding passes anyway and are they required for both weeks?

    Thanks

  6. I noticed today that one of my future princess cruises was not transferred to

my travel agent.  When I called I was told that it could not be done as I was past the 60 day limit from time of booking (approx Nov 2018).

Is this a recent change?  The customer service rep would not budge and said the booking is locked.  I could cancel

and rebook but I don't want to lose the perks

  7. So my wife and daughter did go to Marigot and had a good time.  They thought it looked pretty good but did notice evidence of damage and some resorts are not yet open.  They used D&A Taxi service and they could not say enough things about the driver (and service) so I was quite pleased about that.  We have a cruise in April 2019 but it doesnt stop at this island but we'll be there is Jan 2020.

    Thank you for your replies

  8. We have cruised many times on Princess and Celebrity but his is our first on RCL (Oasis of the Seas Jan 2019).  I know you can bring on two bottles of wine but can you bring more and pay a corkage (amt$?).  Second, can you bring on a case or two of soda.  If yes, does it have to be with your carry on or can you drop it off with a label and your bags to be delivered to your room.

    Thanks for the help

  9. my wife and I are booked on the Silhouette Jan 14 and if we cancel now we lose 75%. She doesn’t think she can go but is happy if I go rather than losing everything. Am I allowed to board without her or will Celebrity say that we booked as a couple so both need to board. It is possible but unlikely she will board at one of the islands.

  10. We just got off the 7 days Western Caribbean and we had a really good time. I would recommend

    Pluses

    - I thought the food was great, nice variety and prepared well. We ate in the MDR each night except for one evening in Qusine. Since we enjoyed the MDR so much we did not feel the need to venture out to more specialty restaurants.

    - We really liked the two comedians and the Celebrity live events. I did not see the other shows so I cannot comment on them.

    - I liked the layout of the ship and other than the one comment below it was in great shape.

    - Staff we very nice and accommodating

Negatives (and I am being a bit nitty here but this is a premium line)

    - in 2017 why does Celebrity still manually record passengers attendance for Muster Drill. Why do they not scan our sea pass card. It is hilarious listening to the crew shot our random room numbers and names to see if they are the the theater.

    - there were several chairs in the Opus dining room that are literally had the fabric on the arms in shreds. I am shocked these chairs had not been replaced yet.

    - Cellar Masters was often not staffed or just had a single server. As this is the only spot to get a variety of beers that was a but of a disappointment.

    - I would like to see Internet available by the minute. At the beginning it was only available by the day for unlimited access. It was only in the last couple of days whey did offer this but the rate was stupid.

    - Given the technology and their partnership with Apple I would like to see them improve the bar service. So many guests have the beverage package it would be a real improvement if they could speed this up. Currently they need to slide the sea pass through the register and then press the key for the beverage. With lots of people at the bar this can be a very slow process.

All in all I am still very happy with this line and do plan on cruising with them again.

  11. Why is this their fault?

The OP never said it was RCI's fault. You are so quick to judge and I would expect better from a 10K poster. Way to jump on a new poster. Hindsight is always 20/20 but I am sure the OP did not think the shipping charges would be so high. I think he is just warning others to make sure you ask what the charges would be before so you can make an informed decision.

Last year we forgot an envelope of pictures on the bus that we purchased on the ship and I realized it as soon as we arrived at our hotel. I filled our the paperwork for the lost item and I received a call from the local Alaska office of Princess and they send me the package no charge. Granted it was much smaller but a nice touch.
