  1. My guess is they are trying to help get some tourist dollars to Dominica. I am on the Fascination in May on a 'port every day' cruise that was supposed to stop in Dominica. We just received notice that we will be going to Antigua instead as Dominica will not be ready for tourists.

  2. Are we back in elementary school? For all that say yes are you going to police the serenity area, the chair hogs and the dress code in the dining room? I just believe either all rules are enforced or none. You simply cannot pick and choose.

Carnival should equally enforce all of their rules but I certainly can pick and choose which I want to bother reporting. Your analogy is equivalent to saying I shouldn't support murderers being sent to prison because I speed on the highway.

A neighboring balcony on which someone is smoking is infringing on my enjoyment of the balcony I paid for and I did so with the expectation that it would be a smoke-free area.

  3. Thanks. Unfortunately I am not social media savvy. I do use Facebook but my husband, who will not be with me, does not. He is the one I most want to stay in touch with.

Does he have a smartphone? Does he text?

Facebook Messenger is a downloadable APP! It works just like any other phone texting app. Try it before your trip. I'm sure he will be fine.

  4. It is because port taxes are not a % tax (like sales tax). They are calculated on a per person basis - in simple terms each port assesses a flat fee for the ship. Carnival then takes the total of taxes for all the ports and divides that by the expected number of guests sailing -- which is also why you will often get a small amount back on your sign and sail account when the ship 'sails full'.

  5. appears to be free on the Dream...

  6. Short form?

My Daughters is diff than my Sons and mine. ours are a long sheet of paper and hers is half size. But is does have Mine and her fathers name, place of birth and county of birth and issuance from Indiana, Signature and a raised seal. So whats the deal with the long form? It came directly from the New Castle health department as they are the ones that issue the BC

'long form' has nothing to do with the size of the paper, it means the information provided -- your daughter's has all the 'long form' info and is issued by the state -- you'll have no problem. :)

  7. I don't think the previous poster understood the question.

Go to a slot machine. Insert your S&S card in the slot. Press the button that says load money from S&S account. You will have to set up your card by entering your date of birth and then selecting a 4 digit pin. You will then select the amount you wish to load on the card. When you want to cash out, take your card to the cashier. They will verify the amount and ask you to enter your pin on a pad there. Voila! you are handed your cash.
