  1. We actually like to have options so we definitely over pack. However' date=' I don't see the problem in doing that? We have 2 suitcases each that once they are dropped off with the porters aren't a problem at all. It's not like we have to lug them around or anything. We do dress up every night but that's what we like to do. We probably don't wear a third of what we bring but that's ok since we don't know which third that is going to be before we cruise! Unless you are flying I don't see the big deal about over packing. Just gives us more options while we are on the ship. That being said I know every one is different but if you are new to cruising don't worry about over packing is my take. Happy Cruising!!![/quote']

Feel exactly the way you do, especially when driving to a port. I like to have the option of wearing a variety of outfits and am not one of those people who can plan what they will wear everyday. That especially pertains to the 5-7 pair of shoes I pack on every cruise!!!

  2. Change your reservation to your current name on your passport.

When you return you can send in a copy of your married name along with your passport. (Just make sure you make a photocopy of your passport for your records) They require a marriage certificate.

Then they can put in a page with your new married name into your current passport which I have personally had done. You just either have to make an appt with your passport office (which I recommend) when you return and they will help you with the changes. or mail It in. They won't give you a new passport, but there will be a page in there which shows your married name and date of marriage which will last as long as your current passport before it expires.

Good luck ad have a great time!

P.s. Always make a copy of your passport to keep in case there are future issues.

  3. can't wait i will be on her on the first cruise after returning to B-more. so glad they brought the pride back to B-more!

Cannot tell you how happy we are that the Pride is coming back to B'More. We have cruised her several times without the upgrades and absolutely love that ship.

We will be on the March 29th sailing as well!

    Thanks to all who answered!

  4. The BCH has a nice clean beach located on a cove where the water is beautiful. You will be able to see the Pride docked from the beach. It is no more than a 10 minute walk from where you will dock.

Lounge chairs, towels and umbrellas are included and the facility is very clean. There is a clean restroom/changing room on the premises. There is also a pool. The food is decent, not gourmet, but not junk either. I remember burgers, chicken, sandwiches, fish, etc being offered at lunch. I also remember the drinks being expensive and very weak.

We have gone there several times and I highly recommend it, especially with a young child.

Have fun, wish I was on the Pride again with you!

  5. Cruised on the Pride in August and the current "off brand" yogurt they are using is horrible. It has a very "non-yogurty" taste and to me it tasted very artificial. Very disappointed that I couldn't get a decent tasting yogurt in the morning!

  6. Lovely review and I appreciated your wonderful photos of inside the Pride. She is one of our favorite Carnival ships. So happy that you have fond memories of your cruise!

Ah, the "Hunger Games;" several of my students were reading the series and I borrowed their books and now am almost done with the second one. The author truly has a knack for drawing the reader into her stories . . . I'm curious to see how it all ends with the third book and will go with some of the teenagers to see the Hunger Games film when it comes out soon.

Being part Canuck (mom from TO), I especially loved your description of your experience getting into Buffalo and then flying to your destination. All of my relatives from Canada drive to Buffalo to fly southwest almost everywhere in the U.S.! Much cheaper and convenient.

  7. I stopped ordering DODs because several times I saw them poured from pre-mixed containers by the wait staff, which is why they always tasted weak and too sweet for my taste.

The typical dirty martini or cosmo which I happen to indulge in once in awhile  should be more alcohol than mixer (cranberry juice, olive juice, etc.).

A typical pour in a bar or restaurant should be about 1.5 oz, so one oz is a rip off when paying full price for drinks.

That being said, we have always had the luck of the Irish on our side when cruising Carnival and have had wonderfully strong delicious drinks on our cruises. And yes, tipping the bartender an extra dollar or two here and there really does make a difference!

  8. Alicia,

    1. You and your partner Latanya make a beautiful couple. Wishing you both many years of happiness together.

    2. Your photographs are absolutely stunning; I truly have never been "touched" by photos before as I have with yours. The photos capture not only the subject matter but also for me, evoke emotions and feelings based on each individual photo. You have a gift for making photos come to life. I understand why your clients pay for you to fly to their events to take pictures; you are amazing.

    3. To me, a good photographer is like a good cook or chef as both involve tasks which are labors of love . . . time consuming but pleasurable for the person doing it.

    4. I have sailed Carnival four times and on every ship the water tastes like chemicals to me. Maybe my palate just picks it up, but I've tried to drink the "tap" water several times and it makes me gag. We always bring about a dozen small bottles of spring water on board and purchase more in ports.

    5. We would like to sail the Dream someday, our next two cruises are both within driving distance from our home to cut back on airfare costs. Your photos and descriptions, however are very alluring.

    6. It would be a blast to sail with the two of you someday; hope our paths meet in the future!

    7. The dolphin encounter you went on is exactly the type I would like to experience someday. I'm not interested in an encounter where you get to pet and kiss the animals only. The interaction, especially the individual swim makes me want to jump through the screen to get the experience.

    8. Carnival is crazy not to hire you to do some of their commercial shots - maybe someone on this board will be able to hook you up with the right people to make this happen.

THANK YOU so very much for taking the time to post this wonderful review.

  9. My one personal experience was that a pedicure was not only very expensive but nothing more than what I could get at home for half the price.

If for some reason the experience and service was extraordinary or differed in a positive way than most pedicures, then people wouldn't be reluctant to book them more often.

I think they should either lower the price or provide a service that matches the price!

  10. On our last cruise, I ordered two from the start and when I was done, the waiter appeared with just a single tail on a plate and set it in front of me! I ended up eating a little more than half of it since I had already eaten an appetizer and two tails.

They are not the best quality tails, however, I think they are tasty and enjoy them one time on a 7 day.
