  1. I'm sure it is because so many people book a single then later add more people!! I'm sure everybody else will follow, I scan the RCL site but don't post there and they were making fun of Carnival doing this, but a few posting were warning those to just watch out it's coming there also!!:o Yep it hurts us true solo's but what can ya do!! I figure its less to pay later!!:)

it already has. i talked to RCI the other day. 200% fares for single cruisers.

  2. do you have a preference of train first or second? How do you know which one you are getting?

i've done it both ways. i like the 2d trip better, only because the sun is higher and the light is better for taking pictures. also some of the morning clouds have burned away by then. other than that, there's really not much difference.

when you sign up for the trip you'll have the option to choose which trip you want to take. i think the 2d trip leaves the dock at 10 am?

  3. Scenic Railway St. Kitts:

4.)Do you see enough to get island feel and is it narrated?

the railway tour is a great tour. depending on if you get the 1st or 2d tour, 2nd tour is half way around the island by bus and narrated very well. it stops at the rail terminus and you board the train. the train tour is the rest of the way around the island back to the ship and is narrated and a trio sings songs along the way. water and rum punch is free for the ride. you'll see 90% of the coast line and the houses and things along the way. very informative and historical. the 1st tour runs the opposite, train ride first half around the island and bus ride back to the ship. the tour is so nice, i had to do it twice. ( 08 and 10 ).

  4. I thought I was the micro detailed person figuring out what side of ship was best for each cruise! So far so good. I booked even side for Victory.

Can you elaborate on views from each port for even side?

victory room 7272 view @ st thomas

barbados, unfortunately, you'll be looking at the container yard. thats cool if you like seeing containers loaded onto trucks. the other side, they're looking out to sea.

st lucia could be either way. depends if the ships pulls straight up to the pier or turns around first and " parallel parks ". both ways are good.

st kitts. both side views are good here but i like this view. the sun will set in your face tho.

st maarten. again, the sum will set in your face. best sail away side is the starboard side. victory will cruise around the island and starboard side has great views of the french side and simpson bay.

ps i even look at the phases of the moon before i cruise. bigger moon, more light at night. i love cruising under a full moon.

  5. They do have the luggage express. You have to get your bags in the terminal then take them outside to the truck...you don't see them again until you get to your final destination. It's well worth it.

thanks. i'll pay to skip baggage check anyday. i've got a 10am return flight and i'm sweating that i wont make it.

  6. This may be a stupid question' date=' but her it goes.

Does anyone know what time it gets dark in San Juan?

I was there a little over a year ago on an Eastern Caribbean cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale which put us arriving at 5pm. This time we are flying down 2 days before our cruise on the Victory. I have been trying to get a picture of a Carnival Ship at night when its all lit up. The closest I got was in San Juan, however, it started pouring down rain, and I was unable to get my shot.

Would like to get a picture before boarding.

    Thank[/quote']

funny thing about that is that the farther south you go, and the closer too the equator you get, the days and nights become closer to the same length. does that make sence? in other words, on the equator the days and nights are always 12 hours long each. puerto rico is still a long way north of the equator, but that principle is starting to come into play. now, having said all that, i havent helped you in the slightest with your question. just some of that useless trivia i remember from high school that i cant make any money with.
