Just off the Dream and had a very rough last day and our doors weren't shut. I kept expecting them to since so much spray was getting on the balconies but still wide open.
-
If it helps, I'm recently off the Dream. Had a cove balcony on the port side and didn't smell anything at all. Went to the starboard side to do laundry and the odor was definitely there and was strong. That was the only day I smelled it but also the only time I was on that side of our deck.

Today is my last work day too!!! Leaving on Sunday on the Dream out of NOLA!!!!
Me too! I'm at work until 1:15. My mom and stepdad are going with us and they left yesterday and are already in Slidell. I want to gooooooooo!

We only ended up with $50 in obc for our cruise and it was actually before final payment so anyone could have gotten it. Once final payment was made it seemed like the better deals were for guarantee rooms only so I could have gotten more obc but would have given up my room.
We booked a cove balcony and didn't really want a higher balcony. My category has been sold out for a couple months now and we leave Saturday.
I'd still book ES since its a good price but only if you are sure of your dates and that you can go.

I'll be on the Dream November 8th if you still need a magnet just let me know. My email is cshannon125@gmail.com. Let me know which one you are looking for.

As far as the connecting rooms go, I had to call. The cabins that my PVP booked us in did not show up on the website as available. I assume they do that so they have them available for families that want connecting rooms although I'd rather just book it online myself rather than call.
This was for our Dream sailing in November.
I have no input on putting 5 in a cabin as we have never tried
-
Loving your review so far! Can't wait to be there in November.
-
I can also verify this. I purchased it for our cabin along with my mom's cabin on our next cruise as a surprise for her. She hasn't cruised in forever so I'm hoping she doesn't question what it means on her luggage tags.

On the Breeze, we used the Fun Hub chat feature which is $5 per device (by folio number) for the length of the cruise, not per day like the social Internet package.
It works great on iPhones. I heard some people had issues with Android devices.
We had the social package but shared it amongst ourselves. We only bought one package and shared it which meant only one person could be logged in at a time.
We were just gonna get a couple social media packages but if we can "text" with our phones for $5 each, I'd rather do that. We have 3 couples going and didn't want to have to plan meet ups to see what everyone wanted to do.
I have no idea they offered this. Do they offer this on all ships?

Thanks so much for the tip! Just bought 3 cases for us! Awesome find!

I got very sea sick one night in the MDR and left my poor husband to eat alone. The waiter sent my food and dessert with my husband in case I was feeling better once he got back to the room. They just sent it on the normal plates with the covers they use. It was really sweet of him and I got to finish my meal once my Dramamine kicked in.

Thanks for the head's up. I checked my price earlier and it hadn't changed but I didn't notice the $50 in onboard credit per room I would get. I just put in for the change. Hope it works!

The airport is about 12 miles from downtown. A lot of cruisers stay at hotels outside of downtown that offer shuttles and allow you to park there during your cruise. You can read about some of those here:
http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2149088
My personal opinion is I want to stay downtown/French quarter when I'm in New Orleans. I book on hotwire and get great deals but it's prepaid and non-refundable. I usually stay in a 4* hotel and pay about $100 plus $25-35 for parking. I would move my vehicle to fulton parking garage during the cruise where you can park for as little as $8/day on the roof.

If you go the hotwire route and need help figuring out what your hotel is going to be or need advice on a downtown French/Quarter hotel, let me know. I've stayed in probably 30 of them. I stayed at Hyatt Regency 8 times last year. It was the 4* downtown/superdome option on hotwire.
Have you stayed in the Astor Crowne Plaza? I did the hotwire option a while back and ended up there and now reading reviews, I'm concerned. Its hard to tell if its a bad hotel or just not what people expect from a 4 star hotel.
Thanks!

I booked my cruise for Nov on the Dream for $689/person in a cove balcony. It's still hovering around that price now. I'd say you just have a spring break/easter price issue.

Any idea who is on the Dream 11/8/15? Thanks!!
-
Just an FYI there is only 1 7-day cruise in Oct from NO. Its not until Oct 25. We tried to go earlier in the month but they have those 11 day journeys cruises.

The 2 Dream cruises were not previously long itineraries. If someone had the regular 7 day planned then they would have to change. Most people who book a 7 day can't just go and take extra time off work. It also now involves a flight that would cost extra. This is prime Fall Break time and now a lot of families will have to change their plans if they have booked early. We pretty much always book at least a year in advance and if I was on one of the cruises that are now canceled I would be upset.
These actually were already on the website. At least they were last month. We looked at October on the Dream before booking our November cruise and were sad to see just cruises between NO and San Juan. I much prefer round trip cruises.

Awesome deal! Thanks for posting! I just ordered us one along with a Funship Freddie for my son's birthday!

When I booked adjoining rooms, I had to call to get them. They would not show up on the website. My parents are in the balcony beside us and it is for 3 people as well. PVP was able to book it for us.

Yeah I have no trouble mock booking my current cruise.

Can someone please tell me how Carnival defines guardian? I saw someone say it did NOT have to be a legal guardian. Is this correct? So, in other words, an under 21 year old (but over 18) can sail so long as they are staying in a room with someone 25 or older? Does it matter if that person is just a friend and of no relation? I went to Carnival's website and it only says parent or guardian but does not say legal guardian, the term guardian can be very loosely defined when you aren't talking legal terms.
So, can our 20 year old friend stay in a cabin with a 32 year old friend? Just friends, no relation.
Yeah would just have to be booked that way. You could technically sleep in a different cabin. It's not like they will check where you sleep.

Years ago we had this issue with a friend who was 20 and the other 3 of us were 23. We ended up booking Norwegian and had no trouble.
We actually ended up dropping her and sailing carnival anyways, lol
Either way, maybe check with them?

Loved it! It was so relaxing to be so close to the water. It really makes you feel isolated. Plus I had a 5 year old and once he was asleep, we'd slip out on the balcony in the evenings and just enjoy the ride. My room was never hot, actually quite cold at times.
