  1. Also off of Harmony last week and had a great time. Service all around was fantastic from MDR to pool bartenders. It was really great to see pool attendants removing the belongings of "chair hogs" on the sea days. One of the highlights was riding in the elevator with Greg the pop up piano player for a sing a long. So fun!

  2. Great idea of a top 5. Really enjoyed your live review also. Getting on HOS next Saturday and will definitely keep these items in mind. We also took the beverage package and think we should definitely break even. One or two quick questions:

Do you remember any hot tubs open at night?

What was bad about windjammer? Was it the choices, crowds, service, something else??

    Thanks for the great review!

  3. I can't post the exact picture from our "Kids Daily Planner" Harmony sailing March 2018 but here is what it says...and there was also a flyer posted at the Aquanauts check in counter giving the details.

    "Adventure Dining"

Children who wish to stay with us for Adventure Dining will be taken to the Windjammer Marketplace.

Deck 16 for pizza, chicken nuggets & french fries. There is no charge for Kid's Dinner and the children will return to Adventure Ocean for activities when finished.

It was available every night (except the first night). There was no limit and the staff took as many kids that were there at the club by the 5:30pm cutoff time. We actually peeked into this closed off area one night and the kids and staff and the servers that were assigned to this were having a great time...so much laughter. It worked out so well for our grandson actually wanted to do it every night.

We are going on HOS in a few weeks and also read about early seating waitstaff getting kids in and out in 45 in the MDR and then AO staff meet them at the entrance and bring them back to the club so you can finish dinner. Do you remember if that was an option also? I would much rather do this option if available.

  4. Your cabin steward should be able to make a bed for your little one to sleep on the sofa even though your cabin doesn't have a sofabed. The steward should also be able to open the balcony divider so that the cabins are at least connecting that way. Talk to the steward when you board.

Given your info and that they say there are connecting rooms available but it does not have a sleeper sofa I asked if we can be put into these rooms and just have our little one on the couch. They said no as it exceeds the occupancy for that specific room. Anyone think there is a person who can actually override this given our situation or is useless to continue to try?

  5. As a follow-up after talking with the TA and RC these rooms have been confirmed to not connect. They tried to find another set but nothing was available. RC has apologized and offered $175 OBC for each room.

Am I disappointed and frustrated..YES Do I wish that something would magically appear....YES Could RC do more...MAYBE Am I going to get over this...YES

I guess the one last decision is if my wife and I should move to the room for 3 people and put our 3.5 year old there and leave the 9 and 14 year old next door or just leave it the way it is. I know it really will come down to our comfort and preference but wanted to update everyone.

  6. MikeBTN, you could be on to something that at one time the Deck plan did show connecting.

Cruise Critic’s Harmony deck plan DOES show 12670 & 12672 staterooms as connecting.

    OP,

Ask TA if Royal would check with the ship, maybe latest deck plans are incorrect, and they do connect after all.

Waiting for info from onboard team to confirm if it is connecting or not.

  7. I’m confused. Did they move one of your staterooms? If not, then more likely either the rooms were mislabeled by Royal as connecting or your TA screwed up. I can’t see why (or how) Royal would “remove” a door to make the rooms no longer connect.

I don't know why they would remove one either but on the harmony room layout key it does show as connecting 12670 & 12672

  8. We sail on HOS next month and the trip was booked over a year ago by my inlaws for their 50th anniversary. His TA told him yesterday that they were informed our booked connecting room doors have been removed and no longer connect. It is me and my wife in 1 room and in the connecting room it was our 2 sons (3 and 9) and our 14 year old nephew. I don't know if the TA is trying to work on it but wondering peoples thoughts or experiences with this happening and any suggestions you may have. I think the 2 older kids would be ok in a non connecting room but not sure of the little guy. I guess we can flip the room assignments as it seems like the kids room has the sleeper sofa and he can sleep with us but not very happy right now.

  9. Day 5 – Roatan

Interesting side note. While standing at the gate waiting for Johan to return I was chatting with a few of the tour operators who were standing there trying to get Allure's passengers to buy from them. One gentleman asked which ports this cruise had been on so far and commented that he was glad we hadn't gone to Belize. I asked him why, and the gist of his answer is that the tour operators there are very unethical and pushy. When I told him I would be going to Belize on my next cruise, he told me in no uncertain terms that while in most ports, including Roatan, it is fine to plan tours directly and not through the cruise line, do NOT do that in Belize. He made me promise him that I would ONLY book through the cruise line next year. Has anyone reading this had any experiences in Belize to share?

I booked cave tubing in Belize with Regie a good number of years ago--- http://regtourbz.com/ The tour was great and he was fantastic. Lots of email communication before our trip and picked is up right where he said he would. We bypassed the lines of people waiting to get in the water from the ship tours and went to some different caves that they didn't. Stopped for authentic lunch on the way back. Totally recommend.

  10. I will be on the HOS this July for my in laws 50th anniv. We will be a group of 11 with kids ranging from 3.5 (my littlest guy) to 16. We all would rather have late seating so we don't have to rush to end the day and get ready for dinner but I am trying to understand dinner for our little guy. I have read that there the AO staff will do dinner with kids in the WJ and then they go back for evening activities. Can anyone confirm this and if it is available every night. Can we just go and pick him up when we are done with dinner? Any other advice? Thanks!!
