  1. This is all such good news.  Yes I am on Aer Lingus through to Rome so I should have my boarding pass. It sounds as if I will be a lot more comfortable with my new timeline.
Will having a small carryon affect any of these plans?

Can someone please tell me how to apply for the “Fast Track”?

Thanks again for all of the wonderful advice.

  2. Thank you so much for all the prompt replies and great suggestions.

I don’t know what I was thinking.  I was definitely not figuring customs and immigration into the equation since it is a layover.  I honestly never gave it a thought. I guess I’ve never done a layover in Europe before.  I do have Global Entry but I don’t think that will help me on that end either.

Thank you also to VMax for the Malahide Castle suggestion. That is a great idea.  I have been there myself. It will be perfect.
By the way…Yes my luggage will be checked on to the flight to Rome thank God.
    Safe travels

  3. Traveling with my sisters.  One has never been out of the U.S.  We planned a 6 hour layover in Dublin on the way to Rome.  Logistically, will it be possible to get a cab at the airport and possibly do lunch and maybe Temple Bar area or downtown, Jameson Factory?
Any thoughts please would be greatly appreciated.
She is In her 70s and doubtful she will have the opportunity to go abroad again.  I would just like for her to see a bit of Ireland.

  4. We have done Old Town Trolly Tours twice and just booked again for October. On-line price for 2 seniors was $71.74 This is a wonderful 19 stop HOHO. There is nothing you won't get to see. I highly recommend them. I actually phoned them and the price is better than what showed online.

The Old Town Trolly picks up at the pier, so no transportation needed to get to the stop. They emailed me my ticket and said print it or just show driver your phone.

  5. I also disembarked on Monday. One of my best experiences on Princess so far. I agree with

Previous poster. Beds were super comfy, Food was exceptional. I also ate at the Salty Dog Pub and it was excellent. The maitre' d, Sammir made the experience especially pleasant. We also ate in The CROWNE Grill. No surprise here, excellent food and service as always.

Yes there was Gelato at the IC

The fire incident was super scary to me as I was traveling alone, but Captain Forteze did an awesome job keeping us all informed and calm.

  6. Just off her this morning. Never noticed any vibrations. Occasional public restroom outage but there were a lot of young people on board so maybe?? There were notices to please not flush the brown paper towels.

We really had a very pleasant cruise I would not hesitate to sail again tomorrow.

In Princess's defense they were constantly working on her. Varnishing, painting, chipping paint etc. Someone told me that they replaced the night stands and bedside lamps in their cabin.

On a side note, the children on this cruise were extremely well behaved. We never had an issue with them at all. Totally different from a Spring Break cruise.

  7. Good for you! Great location. If you are curious as to just how "obstructed" your view will be, you can do a search here on CC to find out. One of the members has nicely created a website with pics looking from the inside out the windows showing the views from many Princess obstructed cabins. I don't think we are supposed to post links, or I would have done it.

    OK to post the link.

Only links to travel agents are not permitted.

would love to have that link. Thanks to you both.

  8. UPDATE So yesterday at 4 days til sailing we received our cabin assignment. We booked lowest caregory inside gty and received a mid grade inside. I was perfectly happy with the cabin we got.

Then today, I went on the Personalizer and we were upgraded to OV midship cat. OV right at the Panoramic elevators. Couldn't be happier. We took a chance and this time it really worked out.

  9. Well, don't get me wrong.....we love a balcony but this is my 3rd cruise this year. I am booked in a Balcony on a TA in October. Don't think I could do 15 days with no daylight.

We are going to try it. We always booked a balcony so DH could enjoy an after dinner cigar in the evenings but since that is no longer possible. We will give an inside a try.

I agree the OV isn't typically that much more but we booked this last minute, two weeks ago and the way the price was structured and with FCCs it was VERY affordable. I'll let you all know what we end up with. Happy to be sailing.

  10. Thanks for all the well wishes. We are platinum but we have always booked a GTY Balcony in the past and just as you said, have always been upgraded in that same type but in a better category.

It is all good and any day at sea is a happy day for me. Just thinking if I could live with an inside cabin I might be able to do a few more each year.

  11. Sailing Saturday on the CB, no cabin assignment yet. Checking the Personalizer often, no.... very often. We usually do book a guarantee to take advantage of the great offers, but we never got an assignment this late.

The worst that could happen is we get the category we booked, so we hope for the best.

  12. Wineaux, just to let you know that after looking over your SP Restaurant suggestions I emailed SPBC regarding a CC pre-cruise dinner. I recieved a lovely email from them saying they would put out appetizers for us to start off and that they would also give us a tour. What a very nice gesture. Thanks for all of your wonderful info & suggestions.

By the way, any info on Sunseeker Tours? I have booked them post cruise.
