  1. I just received that darling little e-mail as well. So nasty...I wonder how many people got it this time?? I also said the same thing--I wonder if the crew is passing it to each other? I just read some info about preventing Noro, and besides the obvious (handwashing, isolation after exposure, etc) there were a few sites that spoke a lot about the laundry. I wonder if the virus is within the pillows? Eww. I went on to find an article that talked about one of HAL's boats being taken out of commission for a super deep clean after it had 4 cruises w/back to back Noro.....They did some crazy cleaning--for example--they cleaned each of the poker chips in the casino, and threw away every single pillow onboard and had them replaced! Anyway, i'm still going, hope to not catch it, but it will def be on my mind--maybe that's not a bad thing either....might be good to be aware and extra vigilant about our hygiene. It is flu season after all, and being in a crowd is already high risk. Cheers to smooth sailing! Maybe alcohol kills Noro? I'll have to sign up for the top notch beverage package just to be sure:D

  2. I'm going in April on Oasis w my son who will be 18 mo old. We are also a family of 3 and in our thirties, we will have my parents, my sister and her husband, and my uncle. That makes me feel safe! Love the pics of the royal tots play area, just seeing that I know my kid will love it! I planned to have him watched briefly some evenings, but who knows- with family there it might not be necessary. I've been to all of these ports so we plan to take it slow, eat well, enjoy our balcony, drink cocktails, and enjoy a vacation. I know people say having a toddler isn't a vacation, but I'd miss him too much! No way would I leave him. I've traveled the world, this is just how we have to roll now. It will get easier as they grow, but I'm enjoying this change. I'm so glad you reviewed, I'm getting excited! Following.....

  3. So, I understand everyone has their own vaca budget and I respect that. I think the appropriate thing to do would be to find a place on the ship that you find beautiful, and have a passenger take your photo there. There's no need to get all wrapped up in pro photos if you can't or don't want to pay, and I wouldn't risk the staff's jobs.

Myself, I don't care for the fake backdrops in the pro pics, I never look good. It's my opinion. I'm going on a cruise in April for the first time with my son. I def want a family pic, but good luck with a toddler (thank god for royal tots :D). Anyway- my ideal pic would be the three of us in front of the ship at port. It's not formal night, but it shows we are somewhere tropical, the ship, etc. I just like that. Start looking at pics of the ship and pic a spot....hell, if I'm on your cruise I'll take your pic :). Happy Sails!
