We are considering a Transatlantic cruise on Odyssey of the Seas in 2024. While it appears to have many activities for younger travelers and families, would there be a variety of activities for those over 60? We were disappointed in the new menus on a sailing in March, 2023. How is the food on Odyssey of the Seas.

Cruise Kay,
Thank you so much for your reply. The information is helpful to us and our My Time Dining time of 7:00 PM. The 9:15 Show Time should work out just fine. I hope that you continue to enjoy your cruise. It was great seeing all of your photos including Hogwarts! I'm afraid you will be coming home to a very cold weekend.

Thank you so much for posting. It has been so nice following along with your adventures. Almost like being there. We will be onboard Enchantment for the 12 night cruise on March 11th. Can you tell me the starting time of the late show? Have you had any lunches in the Safe in the Solarium?

Yes! You log in on your device and play around for an hour, log out, your SO or friend logs in after you on his/her device using the same log-in name/email address and password as you just used. Not a problem, at all.
Thank you so much for your reply and explanation. This really helps!

Unless you absolutely have to use the internet at the same time with others, I'd just get the single package. I shared my Internet package with my family, total of 6 of us, all having their own devices. We just didn't do it at the same time. That's when our internet package wasn't included in the fare. To be open about it, my family isn't Internet hooked, like I am. So, I missed nothing or next to nothing. On a cruise, I generally just up load photos/video to the cloud. On a cruise, I don't visit social media much.
I will be sailing in March with a friend. We are trying to figure out if we both need to purchase internet packages. If I understand your post correctly, we could purchase one package and as long as we aren't connected on two separate devices at the same time we would only need a single package. Is the package linked to a single device? Thank you for your help.

Thank you for the information from Cruise Industry News. Like you, I have been following Enchantment since she left St. Maarten in August after RCI postponed her return to sailing until Dec. 23, 2021. I also noticed that she has moved to another location in the shipyard. She looks like she needs some TLC. We are booked on her March 5, 2022 sailing.
After the ship left Baltimore a few years ago she was doing 3 and 4 night sailings which certainly takes a toll on a ship. We are hoping that all works out so that it is safe to resume cruising again.

Is St. Kitts back on the itinerary?
The listing I saw was posted by someone on Allure, but my guess is that it applies to the various islands RCI is currently visiting.

Thank you for the reply! I just saw a posting from those on Allure that showed that fully vaccinated passengers are able to freely go ashore in St. Kitts, St. Thomas, Costa Maya, Cozumel, Nassau, Coco Cay, St. Maarten, and Roatan. I appreciate your reply.

Enchantment of the Seas is currently on her way to the shipyard in Cadiz, Spain, scheduled to arrive on August 18, 2021. Her first revenue sailing is now scheduled for December 23, 2021. We are booked for a 12 night Caribbean sailing on March 5, 2022. Hopefully she will get maintenance, painting, etc. so that she is all set to resume sailing out of Baltimore as planned. Enchantment had been doing 3 and 4 night sailings from Florida when Grandeur of the Seas replaced her in Baltimore. Grandeur was to have been sold to Pulmantur, but the company filed for Bankruptcy soon after Covid hit. Grandeur is currently scheduled to sail out of Nassau. We sailed Enchantment previously from Baltimore during the winter months which is why keeping the glass enclosure over the solarium is essential.

A quick question about St. Maarten. Were passengers able to disembark on their own or did you have to be on a ship sponsored excursion?
-
Thank you for the reply! I hope you had a great cruise. Can you tell me the Show Times?
-
We will be sailing on Grandeur of the Seas in October. We would like to make our My Time Dining dinner reservations. It would help us to know the timing of Traditional Dining and Show Times. Can anyone help us with those questions?
Thanks,

Thank you for your kind reply. We have used the service in the past and found it to be wonderful. We are flying Southwest which I believe is a carrier out of Fort Lauderdale that participates in the program. If my memory serves me correctly, we can use the Luggage Valet service on a flight departing after 11:30 AM.
Thanks again!

We will be sailing on Serenade of the Seas in February. Can anyone tell me if this ship offers Luggage Valet Service to the Fort Lauderdale Airport?
Thanks!

Thanks, everyone, for your help with the Luggage Valet question. We will check once onboard. We have used the service in the past and found it very helpful!

We will be sailing on Silhouette on February 10th. We are interested in knowing if Luggage Valet is being offered to the Fort Lauderdale Airport. Am I correct in assuming there are 2 Evening Chic evenings? Any other info or thoughts would be appreciated.

Thank you, everyone, for you replies. We are sailing in February, 2019, so I assume Silhouette will be back to Fort Lauderdale at that time. From our past experiences, we would need to have a flight from FLL departing around noon. Is my thinking accurate?
My companion will be flying back to Scotland through Newark. Is Luggage Valet available to her?
Thanks again,
Sandie

Can anyone who has recently sailed on Silhouette tell me whether the Luggage Valet service is offered ?
Thanks!

If possible, would someone share information about your humanitarian stop in St.Maarten? We have friends there and we are very concerned about them as well as everyone on the island. Thank you.

Thank you for your wonderful posts! We will be onboard Feb. 19th, so your postings are very helpful to us. Keep having fun!

Hi Sandie
We're on your cruise.
Early in the cruise (around day 4 or 5) I would go down to Guest Services and ask. If they say no ask really nicely to speak to a supervisor.
I would certainly hope they could make an accommodation for 5 minutes.
I know that once we were 15 minutes early (11:15 flight) and I couldn't get them to budge but 5 minutes .............
Hi!
Thanks for your reply. We hope that 5 minutes will not be a problem. See you onboard!

We sail on Eclipse on Feb. 19th and return on March 5th. Our flight is from Fort Lauderdale at 1:55 PM. In the past the time for a departure from FLL if your port is Miami was 2:00 PM. I wonder if our 5 minute time difference can be accommodated.

We will be sailing on Eclipse in mid February. We are trying to do some dining and specialty dining plans and would find copies of recent menus and/or the Daily papers really helpful. Looking for someone who might have kept these and can help us out.
Thanks!

You can call customer service and make your reservations for select dining over the phone.
Thank you for your reply. We will definitely call to take care of this prior to sailing.
Is Odyssey of the Seas a good ship for a Transatlantic crossing for over 60 year olds?

My thanks to everyone for your replies. I have enjoyed 3 Transatlantic cruises and one Transpacific on Celebrity and Princess. As several people shared, they are wonderful for relaxing, especially after touring on the days prior to the crossing. Certainly happy to hear that there are a variety of activities as well as guest lecturers. I hope that maybe by October, 2024, the menus will improve over what we experienced on Enchantment in March.
