Isn’t there a floss app on your phone?

The Hyatt Regency in Jersey City has a phenomenal view of the New York skyline , the Statue of Liberty and is a stones throw from Ellis island. Great hotel!

I liked the parade, but we never waved our napkins, I would clap and cheer, but twirling the napkins was so unsanitary, I never understood why people would do that after eating.:eek:
Doesn't clapping shed dead skin from the hands and launch it into the air ?And cheering ,think about the oral microbes being expelled.
I'm fearful that both do permanent irreversible damage to the ear drums.
It's a downright dangerous world in which we live.
I suggest that Celebrity provide us with a virgin second set of twirling napkins to keep us healthy and safe. Better yet,
I may never cruise again in favor of staying in my bubble.

Previously squeezed fresh orange juice. Anyone disagree?

That cracks me up.

I think it was named for the Michael who rowed the boat ashore, allelujah !

Please don't let this thread become serious. It was started in the spirit of stupidity and I would hope it could rain as such. This is neither the time nor the place for legitimate complaints. Please if you are serious or sober take your comments elsewhere.

What is that word" Rolle" in my last post. Am I being hacked by Celebrity for voicing my legitimate concerns ?
-
Whatever drfun48 is smoking, I want some.
Are you in the premium or classic package ?one additional demonstration of lack of attention to detail.
On my recent cruise on the Equinox when my stateroom attendant changed my toilet paper he placed the roll backwards so I had to reach in back rather than over the top in front. Who trains these Rolle anyway ?

If we're doing away with the French, shall we change the french fries to freedom fries? :D
That too as well as freedom toast freedom cruelers freedom doors and freedom kissing.
-
When is celebrity going to get over itself and abandon the archaic port, starboard, aft stern thing ? How about front rear left and right ?and what's with "butler" why not man-slave? And what of all this French stuff like maître d'? Why can we get past all the pretense and call him dining room boss guy ?
Finally I'm tired of all that walking fr the dining room to the theater at the end of the ship. Why don't they put them on top of each other or at least put in those horizontal elevators they have been promising for years.
I'm mad as hell and I'm not gonna take it anymore

Are the moderators conservatives? I thought they were moderates.
Based on past experience I believe that lean just to the left of of Eric Holder. If so I apologize to them.
I also apologize sincerely for digressing from the thread that I started which was addressing the most pressing issues of cruise service.
-
Sorry for the error in the last post . I'm just so upset at the diminished services,It should have read what's next removing your own lobster tail from its shell or placing your own napkin in your lap ?
-
I have been waging a crusade,if I can use that word without offending someone or have a moderator delete my post on the grounds of political incorrectness, against the placement of mini pepper mill grinders on the tables.
I long for the days gone by when the waiter would mill my pepper for me
Last cruise I suffered a sprained wrist milling and found it difficult to lift my martinis
What's next, removing your pie lobster tail from its shell,

You are stating the obvious about why I give it "enough" and blow off cruise critic except when I've got a cruise coming. Most people in here are crazy, worrying about piddly things.
Hilarious post...spoofing the spoofers with mock indignation...I hope.
-
Phew...Am I relieved. When I read the title of the thread ,I thought the Equinox had gone rogue, military fashion and had wiped out the ancient city.
Having friends living there,I am relieved to learn that was not the case.
-
When you say sprinkles you mean Jimmies, right.
Only if you're from certain parts of the northeast.
-
There is more fresh air on the starboard side as smoking is allowed outside on the port side.
-
Please tell me why they give you a tablespoon in the dining room to eat your ice-cream. This is a crazy world we live in.
I think they want you to eat your ice cream quickly in case a flash mob waving napkins breaks out.
-
Oh yes, I counted them. I referred to my diary, & on my Summit cruise, I received 320 sprinkles, & on Silhouette, I received only 256. I must admit that I did get 257 on the 4th day of the cruise though.
drfun48, I want to sail with you, you are a breath of fresh air.
I did check with customer relations about the same issue and they assured me that while we were in fact receiving fewer sprinkles, that they were longer in length and the nice young lady assured me that lenght does matter.
When I asked her if width was also important, she just smiled and said of course.
Addressing another issue,it's no wonder the ice cream appears to melt so quickly. How are you expected to finish it before it melts when they give you those silly little plastic spoons intended for Lilliputians .I demand a man-side spoon---wake up and listen ,Celebrity.

What really showed me the decline was that instead of m&ms was gven w&ws. How tacky.
Agreed! And I suspect a number were counterfeit as the lacked their customary printed logos.
-
Now that the threads about fresh oj, napkin waving, and therapy animals have been pretty much exhausted and put to bed,I think it time to address another important issue.
Has anyone else noticed the decline of the quality of candy dispensed at the ice cream station?
On my January cruise on the Equinox ,not only were an unacceptable number(20-30%) of my M&M peanuts served to me with chipped outer coatings ,but the Sour Patch Kids were dispensed with deformed torsos as if they had been mutilated in some manner.
This must be addressed or all too soon the the chocolate sprinkles will be a thing of the past.
We watchful passengers must not let this indifference to our legitimate concerns continue.

I really thought it was the most disgusting comical thing ever. On a formal night people are normaly dressed in their finest, probably had lobster and now are twirling their soiled napkin over their head flinging the remains of their dinner thru the air.
Always reminded me of that food fight scene in "Animal House"
happy crusing
It's because of reminding one of the food fight in Animal House that we should have the napkin extravaganza, great movie, classic scene. Maybe we should start a food fight in replacement of the waving. Nothing wrong with being a little silly once in a while.
It's ironic that the increasingly large number of cruisers who refuse to dress up on formal nights object to a bit of fun.
I think it's more a function of increasing fuddy-duddiness as the cruise population on Celebrity becomes the "Depends" generation of cruisers.
To let a napkin swirl for two minutes on one night of a cruise draw such ire is in itself enough to make me laugh out loud, and for that I thank you ,you old sticks in the mud.
Will the Edge respond to criticisms ?

Just finishing first week of b2b and have very mixed feelings.
Ship is drop dead beautiful ,comfortable and elegant from the rooftop gardens to the spa and pool areas to the elegant 4 main dining rooms . The speacialty restaurants are superb with my favorites being Eden-quite innovative food and the Fine cuts steakhouse couldn’t be better . The food in the main dining areas was also better than in the last 25 years.
Now for the problems some of which I hope can be addressed.
The canned music almost everywhere too loud and not suited to the demographics lots of hip hop ,and club fare not suited to the prevalent age group.
Lack of paper - give me back crosswords and news of the day.
Trivia multiple choice on phones doesn’t cut it.
At least some should be written in groups for a more social atmosphere.
The production shows in the theater were imo horrible, bizzare and unwatchable for most.
the shops - virtually all high end , Tiffany ,Cartier etc very littlein the moderate price range .
Phone service Having paid AT and T $100 for unlimited phone and text for Cellular at Sea . I found it did not function 90-95 % of the time.
i hope these are mostly growing pains and will be addressed in the next few weeks before I return next year and on the Apex in 2021
