  1. We were just on the regal and we got a free bottle of champagne....bubbly or sparkling wine whatever you want to call it, I didn’t inspect label.  You don’t get a lot of perks but the bigger room , huge couch instead of love seat and the shower tub area are all fantastic.  We had 3 in our room so any extra room I will take.  Another advantage if you just have a 3rd person is the couch is so big that it makes a bed of its own so you don’t have to wait till bed is made up for easier access to balcony.  Our tv had 2 separate remotes so our son could watch his own thing , not whatever we had on

We will keep our eye on the Platinum Internet situation for the next few weeks.  If it is still unsure, or they take away the free perk, we will def. pre-purchase, if that is cheaper.  I wouldn't want to count on being an easy no-brainer to cancel if we do find out we have the free internet.

PS:  is it possible that that free bottle of sparkling wine was from some other source, some other perk, and not simply because it was a mini-suite???

I had read that in mini suite they only get free glass of bubbly as welcome aboard where as the full suite rooms get a mini bar set up.  I assume in our case or maybe on that ship they do bottle instead of 2 glasses, I’m  not positive

We are boarding her on Sat and have a quick question. We are in a mini suite and I had read a review from CC that mini suites get a complimentary one time mini bar setup. I know it’s included in full suites.  I didn’t see this as an inclusion on the Princess site. Is this true or not?  Inquiring minds want to know.

On our regal princess sailing a week ago we were in a mini suit and we got a free bottle of champagne that was in our fridge when we arrived in our room

  4. We were just on the regal week and our first time on princess in many years.  I ... me was very disappointed in the food in the buffet area.  Now we did have friend from the Thailand who loves  seafood and various Asian food options and he was in heaven.  I love a good omelette in the morning, when I’m on vacation is about the only time I eat breakfast but I wasn’t impressed with the omelette either so only ate it once , I tried the roasted potatoes but must have gotten bad batch because they tasted like they hadn’t been washed so didn’t eat  more than a couple bites.   My favorite meals came from Alfredo’s , the main dining room and some items from the international coffee cafe, (I think that’s what it’s called I didn’t look it up ). You can get any of the sandwiches, danishes or croissants heated there , so yummy

  5. We are booked on Regal leaving New York in October, we booked about the time final payment was due so we had to pay in full . A week or two later I noticed a price decrease and because it never hurts to ask I called our TA and brought the decrease to her attention and even she said probably not much we can do but she would call. We not only got money or credit back but also moved up to balcony deluxe so cheaper than our original price. Then alittle later we were contacted with an up sell offer to move us to a mini suite which we took since we were going to have 3 in cabin. The adults at that since our son is 22 we wanted any extra space.

  6. We are sailing in early October and are booked in E202 cabin. We are now wondering if we want to switch to higher floor and in the same category there are 2 cabins available on marina deck 15. Neither of us have motion sickness issues. Is deck 15 level with bridge or below? We are so excited, haven’t been on princess in many years and have never been to the northeast and up to Canada so looking forward to our trip in the fall.

  7. We still love cruising and find its still an an awesome vacation. You can do as little and relaxing as you want or be as active and involved as you want. Your room , entertainment , and food is right there for you to pick from. Yep drink prices are more now but when we live in Vegas $10-12 drinks wasn't uncommon at all.

  8. I was pretty sure that baileys and coffee was for sure included last time we went and used drink package but at that time there was only the one not an ultimate. Probably coffee works the same as red bull.... You can get coffee drinks that have alcohol in but not just coffee (espresso latte or mocha) when we went I could have all the red bull and vodka drinks I wanted but could not get just a red bull ...not included.

  9. I chose to do the replenish for port intensive cruises-- it's much less expensive (obviously) with no alcohol and I can get a virgin piña colada, as well as coffees, waters, and sodas. I figured 1 alcoholic drink per day would be also figured in, but with so many port intensive days, I didn't think it was worth it to pay over $400.

Thank you ...I hadn't thought of that but was just reading somebody else's review of that package ..I just looked it up and for our cruise it's $154 pp for the week.

  10. If you you plan on having more than 5-6 drinks a day then you are better off with the package. 5-6 drinks is a very easy number when your on vacation for anybody that drinks. You might have a fruity drink or beer early in the day or in the mood for a Bloody Mary. Then a drink or 2 before dinner...glass of wine at dinner then probably a drink or 2 at the show or casino whatever you do to spend your evening. Our last 2 cruises we had the package but really debating on our upcoming Alaska cruise if we will do it. Alaska is different cruising ...no laying out by the pool having beers ...it's port intensive so this trip it may not be worth it us but I love the idea of the ultimate which includes the good coffees and fresh orange juice because I don't normally spend the money on those things.
