  1. - I read somewhere that drinks not included, has a special mark in the menu, is that correct?Yes, they are marked with a red asterisk; *

    - Are ill cappuccino included in the drinks package? Cappucinos and other speciality coffess are included including 'coreto' which is a shot of coffee with liquer in it.

    - Are the sports and bowling diner included or do we have to pay extra for that? Food in the sports bar is extra except on Divina in Caribbean.

    Thanks 😁

  2. When we sailed on the Seaside, we never registered a credit card for either of our two cabins. On the last night, we went to Guest Services and paid our balance in cash. We did have on board credit from MSC and our TA for each cabin so I don’t know if that is the reason we didn’t have to register a card earlier or not?

    Thanks

  3. I also sometimes used a MasterCard Debit due to no foreign country fee, and it just worked as above.

If your card is capable of holds, it should work the same. No need to collect a refund.

I'm not really sure of that, maybe I should call our TA and ask for their recommendation 😊 thanks for all the info

  4. You don’t register a specific amount.

In your first few days on the ship, you will need do register your card on one of the card terminals

MSC will then put a hold for an amount (I think 150€ or 250€) if your card is a credit-card (also the MasterCard/Visa Debit ones).

After the end of the cruise, the amount is then changed to the full amount of your bill. You do not have to spend all of the blocked amount.

If your onboard spendings sum up to over the originally blocked amount, MSC will do another block of 150€ or 250€

(be aware that due to technical limitations, the first block is mostly automatic changed to the sum of the final bill, any further blocks are normally released, but this will take some days, so for some days the amount of the final bill plus the pending holds will reduce your credit limit, so you will need to have nearly two times the amount of your spending as credit limit)

(Maestro is maybe accepted but does not support blocking an amount, with a maestro you will have to prepay an amount and you will get it refunded at guest services on the last day)

Thank you for your answer :):):)

We only have VISA-card which is a debet card and I believe it then is the same condition as a Maestro card and then we will end up getting a refund in EURO which is what we would like to avoid.

  5. Hi

We have the all inclusive drinks package and don´t expect to use any more money on board. What is minimum amount we can register on our credit card, so that we don´t end up with a handful Euros on the last day, we can´t use at home?

    Thank you

  6. Yes you need your passport to exit the customs in the cruise terminal. I don't think you can get Russian currency onboard but everywhere we went in St Petersburg accepted US $ and English pounds and Euro. We did a tour with a guide so didnt go off the beaten track and all our entrance fees were paid up front by the guide. Yes there are souvenir shops in the cruise terminal. They are a little bit dearer than the ones in town or at the sights but cheaper than the one the tour guide will take you to ;)

Thanks. We are planning on doing an excursion and don´t know if we have time on our own to shop, so was hoping to pick up some souvenirs in the terminal :-)

  7. When you go through Passport Control in St. Petersburg, you should be given a two-part paper form. My wife went through a different line than I did. I was given the form by my line's officer but her officer did not give her one. When we returned from our day long tour, the officer collected mine but because she didn't have the form she was detained for about ten minutes. After demanding that she surrender her form multiple times, he checked with his superior as to what to do. He finally did let her through.

Thank you for the tip. we will make sure we get the paper then. Thought they would be very strict there in customs so better be safe than sorry :)

  8. We were supposed to dock at 09.00am but actually docked round about 07.00am we did self disembarkation at 10.00am were in a taxi by 10.30am after a few minutes wait there were literally dozens of taxis waiting in line and we were at the airport less than thirty minutes later.

    €39 flat rate.

Really easy and cheaper than a cruise ship transfer.

Thank you for the info :)

  9. There is a café just behind Terminal B. I've never used it, so don't know what they serve.

When we were waiting to embark in June, MSC crew were offering water and juice at a table about half-way up in the terminal waiting area.

We always bring breakfast bars and snacks just in case. You never know if embarkation is going to be delayed for any reason. Best come prepared.

Thank you for the info. We will stock up on food and drinks then :-)

  10. Hi

Our embarkation time is 3.15 in the afternoon but will arrive just after 11. How are the facitilies in the terminal and is it possible to get something to eat/drink in the terminal or should buy somthing in the airport to bring?

    Btw we are not YC

    Thank you

  11. Hi

We are trying to deside if it will be a good idea to buy coupons for coffe/latte/hot chocolate etc. from home.

We are not sure we can use 15 coupons during the cruise, so does anyone know the prices for hot beverages in general?

    Thanks

  12. HI

We will be on a 3 night cruise and since the ad libitum drinks packages is too much for us and as we only drink soft drinks we were wondering if it´s possible to buy coupons to save some money on that?

    Thanks:cool:

  13. HI

We will be checking out of our hotel a noon and our cruise is at 8,00 in the evening.

When will the earliest check in embarkation be according to your experience?

If we go straight to the cruise terminal will there be a place to get some lunch while waiting?

    Thanks :)
