We are on a cruise right now. My phone is still logged in, my wife's phone logged out over night. Won't let her log back in. Pulled out the laptop, and won't let me log into either of our accounts via the website.

    Never had any issue before.

So I did the "forgot password" and for my wife's account, for the new password, I just used the old password, and it accepted that. On my account, it told me I can't reuse passwords, so I had to change it. Go figure. At least we can log back in now

Yup. I’ve been had this happen multiple times over the last couple months as I try to plan for my upcoming cruise. I’ve changed my password about 7 or 8 times in that time period. It’s frustrating.

  2. Over the past couple months I’ve had to reset my password several times to get into the app. I knew my password was correct but it wouldn’t allow me access. Each time I changed my password I’d gain access but it might have been for a few hours it days, then change it again. I went a couple weeks without having to change password just to see the app logged me out overnight and again won’t accept my valid passsord…. Here I go again changing it again.

On my 3/17 Anthem sailing suites showed as sold out for months prior to sailing.  I was notified about 4 days prior to sail date that my RU from JS to GS was accepted.  Several others on my group page also received RU acceptance emails the same day I did.  I guess between any travel agent holds and/or cancellations, it IS possible.

Interestingly, the concierge's welcome letter was in our suite on check in--with the previous guests' name on it.

So I can hold out a little hope 😉

  4. I've done this itinerary many times and I think you'll really like the Catalina excursion you are considering. It's something very unique and you get to see different parts of the island. The main part can get very busy with tourists but still fun to walk around maybe after your excursion.

Ensenada has really been working hard on improving their town and port area. It's MUCH nicer than it once was. I did the La Bufadora excursion once and it was ok, you see the blowhole (which is cool) and then you shop around at outdoor markets and stands. If it's hot, it's miserable, though. The bus ride feels very long and kind of makes the whole tour long and drug out.

However, I would not discount hanging around the touristy parts of Ensenada for a few hours and shopping/eating/drinking around town. We had AMAZING smoked marlin tacos at the fish market, sometimes we saw them listed as "El Presidente" tacos on some menus. We still talk about those tacos. It's a type of taco found mainly on the west coast of Mexico, we have not seen them on the east/Caribbean part of Mexico.

There will also sometimes be live entertainment like dancers near the port. I used to dread the Ensenada stop and not get off the ship but last time we ported there (October 2022) we got off and had one of the nicests days of the cruise (it was a 7-day Mex Riv and Ensenada was the last day).

  5. Oooooo good to know. I haven't packed my own toiletries in ages and I NEED conditioner even when there is no salt water, sun or wind. LOL We are in a junior suite, though, so I need to see if that might come with it. And we usually said Celebrity and I think their balcony cabins had it. I'm glad I know to pack conditioner on RC, though... in addition to all the other darn hari stuff I need to keep the hair in line. LOL

  6. I don't have a dining package but have been trying to book one or two specialty restaurants for our late April sailing. I've been checking for three weeks now and unable to find Izumi and Wonderland with any availability, they were listed but just showed "filled up" without ability to select dates. As of today, Wonderland doesn't even show on the Specialty Dining lineup and neither does Izumi Hibachi. Izumi (sushi) shows up but there is zero availability. I was able to snag a Chops for 8pm one night. Giovanni's shows up but no times available. Chef's Table even no longer shows up. Park 150 had some slots but that one doesn't really appeal to me. I'm really bummed that Wonderland doesn't even show up. We will try to check for Wonderland reservations as soon as we board, as well as for Izumi (sushi), but just disappointed. I really was looking forward to trying Wonderland.

Wow! You were not able to even do a few specialty dining reservations of any type before boarding?

They used to say "We will do first day reservations for you (as a courtesy) and you can do the rest when on board."

Do you think this is another way of reducing cruisers who try to use the unlimited dining package for every lunch and dinner onboard?  If so, I almost thinks this smells like a switch-n-bait sales trick.

Offer unlimited dining for a certain price but limit the dining opportunities which means each cruiser does not get an unlimited opportunity to enjoy unlimited dining options.

There should be no "limits" on an "unlimited" plan (Unless you are on a future Royal Cruise).

Seems a bit devious to me.

    🤔😉

I was wondering the same thing. I don't have UDP, I was booking a couple individual restaurants. I was able to book Mason Jar for brunch on the last sea day but none of my other options, even our back ups were available. There were a few spots for things like Chef's Table and Hooked open, and Izumu for lunch the same day we are doing Mason but we didn't want any of those. Otherwise, everything "booked" as far as online says.

  8. I tried all last week to make Wonder specialty dining reservations for my late April sailing and almost all venues showed sold out or error when trying to select what appeared to be an available time slot. I even called Royal to try to make some res and they said no availability for anything I was interested in. I asked if res were held back for passengers to make res onboard and she said no, which I know has got to be wrong. I've just resolved to having to rush to a dining room to try to make res right after boarding the ship.

You can definitely use the standby line for shows.

They also hold back a % of reservations for booking onboard. We booked Allure maybe a month out for a late October cruise and booked a few things that were still available but once onboard there were plenty of additional time slots available. We also had to move both of our specialty dinner reservations once onboard b/c our itinerary was changed 2 days before the cruise due to weather and that was no problem whatsoever either.

I'm so glad to hear this. I'm over 2 months out for our Wonder sailing and have been trying (for the past week) to book Izumi and Wonderland for this sailing. Online shows no availability at all and I even called and they said no availability. I did ask if they hold back reservations for those booking onboard and she didn't directly answer but said to check once we board. I guess we'll have to rush over to a restaurant and do that after boarding, which I hate doing, just sets a wrong tone for a vacation for me, but I have to try. I really want to check out Wonderland and my husband really wants sushi, so we'll check once on board.

I like to think it’s passengers who prefer a real balcony. That’s the reason I booked Odessey for two recent transatlantics.

I can vouch for that. We wanted to try X Beyond but the infinite balcony looks terrible to us. We like to be out on our balcony, not just have a sunroom. The X sailings I looked at already had the few non-infinite balcony rooms sold out, and we can't afford a suite with the actual balcony/verandah. We've done several other X ships and wanted to try a new ship so we're back to RC (Wonder) for our next sailing.

Celebrity has the MAST GRILL and BAR overlooking the pool. GREAT fries and burgers

Awwww, bummer. We've been sailing X the last many years and LOVE the Mast Grill. And, yes, grab quick beer there, too. Those burgers and fries are SO GOOD. I'm sad to hear that RC doesn't have anything like that to grab a quick burger near the pool. We'll be on Wonder in April, it's our first RC sailing since 2010 maybe (I think). But I think we'll have lots of other food options to explore and save poolside burgers for our next X sailing.

  12. I'm seeing a Labor Day Early Access Sale for DBV for "Buy One Get One Free" for my Wonder April sailing. On home page of my cruise planner it said "Up to 40% off Beverage Packages" but when I price out DBV it's the BOGO offer. I'll probably buy it to be safe since it seems prices are continually increasing.

  13. I’ve not sailed RC in a while (we’ve been sailing X), but we are eyeing up a sailing on Wonder. I know there is no way to know what upcoming sakes might be or when they may occur. I see the current sale on RC sailings is “up to $650 off plus 30% off all fares and kids sail free”. We have no kids so that part of the sale offer is of no concern to me. This sale ends tonite.

Not having priced out RC sailings for quite a while, does this sale offer look good compared to what they’ve been offering? Or pretty run of the mill?. I was really hoping to find pricing or sale like X offers with everything included but I’m gathering RC just doesn’t do that kind of sale or fare bundle offer.
