We are flying into Venice Marco Polo airport the night before our cruise and would like to spend a few hours the next morning sightseeing before heading to the port to board our ship.
Any recommendations for a hotel or specific areas to look for hotels which would be convenient in traveling from airport to hotel to sightseeing to port?

Just off this cruise and we loved it! Pack a raincoat. It was chilly some days but the balcony was used everyday - to dry our bathing suits, to view the sail in/out, to enjoy coffee before the kids woke up. We always get a balcony. Just makes the room feel larger and I like to watch the ocean.
I also recommend booking a private tour in SPB. We passed large shore excursion groups and we were thrilled that it was just our family of four and our guide. We saved a lot of time and were able to move at our own pace. Have fun on your trip!

We just got off a Vision cruise a few days ago. My kids are 10 and 11 and LOVED the kids activities!! We've previously sailed on Disney and they liked this cruise the best! This being said, they were not in the Adventure Ocean for hours upon hours. Maybe an hour or two after dinner and on Sea days, a couple hours after breakfast and then again after dinner. There was a lot for them to do in the club and they always returned happy and smiling, and often with prizes they've won.

Any recommendations on bike tours for Helsinki, Riga, Stockholm, Copenhagen or Gdansk?

Thanks trosebery. That's the one I was looking at and I wasn't sure if it would work. I also looked into Best Guides but my husband wasn't thrilled with their suggestions. I'm just trying to make everyone happy!!

I'm not sure one of the preset tours would work for my kids. While I love the itinerary set up by SPb tours, I feel it may be too many museum visits for my kids. On the other hand, a private tour is so much more expensive!
Any advice? I'd love some ideas from people who visited this port with their kids.

We took a bike tour on our first day to get the lay of the land - Fat Tire Bike Tours.
I also recommend the Tower of London and take one of the tours. It was our favorite part of our visit.

The only good thing about the privacy curtain in a Disney stateroom is the fact that when my young kids go to bed early and I want to stay up and read, the curtain shields some light from them. That's about it.

I guess since we try to get off the boat quickly on port days we eat at the buffet. I need to try the MDR for breakfast at least once. Or even the cafe.

Yes on the Vision! Thanks your advice is great. Ten nights on the Vision and we will definitely need to mix up our dining options.

This is our first time sailing with RCI. Any tips on the best places for breakfast or lunch? In the past we've usually eaten both at the buffet. Is the MDR better?

Found our old ones from Disney. Going to bring those along. Once off the boat they get stuffed into my bag.

Lanyards make it easy for me to keep track of them. Thanks everyone.

This is our first time on RCI. Previously sailed on Disney and upon check-in they gave us a lanyard for our sea pass. Does RCI issue a lanyard? Would like to know so that if they don't I can plan ahead to bring something for our cards.
Thanks.

I am leaving July 28th on Rhapsody and have the same itinerary as you. How many formal nights were there?
