  1. I bid on an Aurea upgrade and was countered with  Yacht Club. I accepted the upgrade to YC and called to cancel the Easy drink package I had purchased. The lady I spoke with said she would cancel the package and it would be refunded after the cruise if the credit wasn't used to purchase other things before or during the cruise. I sure hope they do refund it. That was the reason I upgraded at that price.

wow, that is a lot of soda.  Does he ever get kidney stones?  One summer, I drank a coke zero every single day and had a kidney stone attack at the end of the summer.  I thought it might have happened because of the soda.

Yes, he does.  He is not in good health.

WOW!!! 6 TWO LITERS a day=12 liters a day (12 quarts=3 gallons).  Does the man have a high flow umbilical IV hooked up to him??? 😮

No, but he takes a cooler with him everywhere he goes filled with Diet Coke.  When we returned from our cruise in May, (he didn’t go on that one), he had placed a cooler beside his recliner to make it more convenient for him.  My sister told him that wasn’t going to happen.  She made him empty it.

  4. My brother in law is sailing with us in May next year. He drinks at least 6 TWO LITERS of Diet Coke every day. He does not drink alcohol at all and my sister drinks very little. I told her if he paid by the glass/can on board it would be almost $120 per day.  The zero package is a no brainer for them. To carry them on board, he would need almost 20 12 packs!!

  5. I have two cards because our office manager laminated all of our original ones.  I got my booster at Walgreens and the lady there didn't even put my name on the card! It's handwritten in a weird blue ink, like a marker so it's going to not match when I write my name in.

  6. We were actually charged a fuel surcharge after we were paid in full for our first cruise in 2008.  After we returned from the cruise, we got a refund of $140 I believe for that surcharge.  I don't remember the exact reason but I think as someone said above, it wasn't legal at the time.

  7. We rented a car while in Freeport on a short 4 day cruise 4 years ago.  The rental place was right at the port.  Although we had to wait in line to get it, it was well worth it.  We drove out to Lucayan National Park and paid the entrance fee and walked out to Gold Rock  beach. While we didn't do the caves, we enjoyed a quiet day on an almost deserted beach.  One of the most beautiful ones I've been to in the Caribbean/Atlantic to be honest.  There was nothing there as far as chair rentals, facilities, or things to do.  We just took towels and a small cooler and relaxed.

  8. We just used dayuse.com a couple of weeks ago for a later flight out of FLL.  We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express for $85 with tax from 9 am to 3 pm.  They had a shuttle that took us to the airport for free.  There wasn't much to walk to but we just chilled in the room and ordered lunch to be delivered.

DH gave up dress shirts on cruises...polos every night...he, too, lives in golf shirts & shorts. ESPECIALLY since he retired in May.

Our fairly new luggage sets have locks & I'm afraid to use them for fear I couldn't get them open--not even sure I know how to set them!! (I'm sure Google could help me with that...)

Google can definitely help with that.  I locked the combination in my daughter’s new luggage. Google saved me.  She was not amused.

I understand I can use the app.. My dh not so much....

I wonder if the app will allow me to check-in for both of us.. I kinda doubt it

I have the app and started the checkin for our 7/17 cruise.  It did allow me to check in for my husband.  I scanned in his  passport and will add his “selfie”  at some point. He will add the app to his phone before we go.

  11. I have not yet spoken to my MIL  about the possibility of cancelling.  I'm afraid she will not want to cancel and go ahead with the cruise as planned.  She is very stubborn and it may take getting the other siblings and even her doctor involved.  I have done the math and if they reprice our rates to the current ones after cancelling her, it is going to cost us a lot more. I paid for almost the entire cruise(except the $50 pp deposit) with gift cards so I'll be giving her $900 cash.  I spoke with a travel agent today(different cruise) who told me it might be best to let her be a no show.  I'll give it another week or so before making a decision.  Thanks for the input, I'll post back when I have made a decision about what to do.

  12. We have three booked in our balcony cabin currently.   My mother in law is 83 and may cancel due to the current Corona virus situation.  Does anyone know how this would be handled?  She is the third person and her rate is only $169 plus taxes/port charges for a total of around $300. I assume she would be refunded/given a FCC for this amount.  Would we be able to keep our original rates or would we be rebooked at the current rate for two in a cabin which is now higher?   We divided the total 3 ways and she paid $900, so we feel it would only be fair to give her $600 cash.  If we do this and are charged more for the cabin, it's more than we budgeted for.

Has anyone had any experience with this?   I know I'll have to call at some point, just wondered what other people may have done.   Never in a million years would I have thought we'd be dealing with a situation like this.

This is when the SW change policies are so very helpful. I wish the others were just half as accommodating. Given the current situation, I hope the change fees are at least waived by other airlines bc it’s a huge hit to the consumer who purchased their tickets before March 1 and need to change/cancel.

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

I just received an email today from Allegiant saying they will wave fees.  I  did not want to pay the extra $58 change fee for my $75 round trip flight.  Glad I have the option of cancelling now. I don't plan on it but one in our group may.

Has anyone had UPS lose their package? UPS supposedly delivered it to my local UPS store today, but the store says they have no record of a package.

Trying to figure out how this is ultimately getting resolved and how long it will take.

I have gone to pick them up at the UPS store and was told they couldn’t find it.  Then they gave me someone else’s package. They finally found it,  they were looking for a package and not an envelope.

  15. I was getting nervous that the cards may not be available again  before my final payment first of March, so when I saw they were there Sunday morning I ordered eight of the $500 ones. They came today, Wednesday, at lunchtime and luckily my husband was home to sign for them. Such an easy way to save $400!

  16. We took two cruises earlier this year before my daughter turned 20, one on Carnival and the other on Royal Caribbean. On both lines, she was asked by several waiters if she wanted a drink. She gave them her order, they put it on my husbands sign and sail card with no mention of her age. On Royal Caribbean, we were offered free champagne three different times in the dining room, again with no one questioning her age. Maybe it was because we were with her, I don't know. She would never try to get anything on her own. We are not naive and know that she drinks while she is at college and was definitely not trying to get drunk while on the cruise.

  17. I just watched the TV movie "Love at Sea" that was filmed on this ship during this cruise. The ship looked great on TV and in your review! Thus far, I have only been on CCL but your review makes me want to book RCCL, specifically this ship. Thanks for this great "LIVE" review, pics and other attachments.

I just watched Like Father on Netflix and it was also filmed on this ship. It sure is popular!

  18. Does Random Winds stop near a beach or do you hang in the middle of ocean. I saw the tour was 5 hours. Are there any shady areas on boat for those who need some shelter from the sun? What was served for lunch?

    Thank you!

We did stop in a bay near a beach but not on the beach. I believe it was Mullet Beach but I could be wrong. It was very pretty there. There is an area where you can get out of the sun if you wish in the little dining and seating area. The rest of the boat is open. There is also a bathroom on board. Honestly, we never got hot, we were either moving or in the water. They have noodles to float with and it’s easy to get on and off of the catamaran.
