  1. To all those that think their insurance will cover them in some way because the ports have changed? Not a chance.

Not unless there is some specific clause in your insurance contract that says they'll cover port changes or something somehow.

Your vacation is not cancelled. Your destination is the ship is still leaving on time. There is no cancellation or trip interruption.

You can't file a claim until after the fact. If you cancel and insurance decides against you, guess what?

I am aware I would have to cancel the trip. And I still may. I was just asking questions on this board for some clarification.

At least I'm glad it made some aware that their policy would cover a similar situation in that they are covered under the literary change in their Natl. Ins policy.

  2. Wouldn't that be predicated upon the level of insurance you purchased. For instance, Travel Guard has a purchase for any reason insurance that I have purchased before.

Actually I have "cancel for any reason" which I purchased thru my TA however its only for 50%.. Travel Guard said it would come under trip cancellation and trip interruption (if I cancel) "the insured 's destination being made uninhabitable" etc. which San Juan and St Martin is.

The invoice states it was a Eastern Caribbean cruise Now with the port changes to Jamaica Nassau & labadee (their port) Its a Western . and 3 small ports at that.

  3. There is no chance. Your vacation has not been cancelled

No it hasn't but the ports were. and I didn't purchase a trip for the whole Caribbean just the Eastern.

TRIP CANCELLATION AND INTERRUPTIONThe Company will reimburse the Insured a benefit, up to theMaximum Limit shown in the Schedule or Declarations Page, ifan Insured cancels his/her Trip or is unable to continue onhis/her Trip due to any of the following Unforeseen events:

    (f) the Insured’s Destination being made Uninhabitable orinaccessible by flood, tornado, earthquake, volcaniceruption, fire, wildfire or blizzard that is due to naturalcauses, vandalism or burglary;

  4. Has anyone experienced filing a claim (trip Cancellation) due to insured's Destination being made Uninhabitable. When the destination being the change of ports from Eastern Caribbean to the Western Caribbean.

My carrier is Travel Guard and I proposed this to their CS who simply suggested I file the claim she did mention my destination was the Caribbean, however I do feel I purchased tickets for the E. Caribbean and not just the Caribbean. Any helpful info out there is welcomed.

  5. We were in E405--great room and large size balcony, no obstruction or smells, very central location, we loved this area and everything about this cruise! :D:D

  6. Yes, this is doable. Just be sure to be off the ship as soon as she is cleared, grab a cab at the port, and you're golden! You can take the public bus back to the port for a buck or two...

Trixiee, thanks for your reply. We are really looking forward to the trikes. Must have to be on line to get off the ship by 7:30 or so.... Joya

  7. My husband and I did a tour with Trikes Aruba Nov 2013 and had a blast.

Trikes are a 2 or 3 seat, 3 wheeled motorcycle with a trunk. They are stick shift and shifting is much like that of a car.

If you are rusty or never driven a stick no problem. Staff board the Trike with every driver providing live drivers training. They make sure every driver is capable of driving the Trike safely. My husband knew how to drive a stick and it took him only 1 lap around the business to get the thumbs up from his instructor. While another guest in our tour group took about 15 minutes to get the go ahead. They will work with you until you get it.

We had a 2 seat Trike. I was the passenger and really enjoyed the comfort and visibility that the rear elevated passenger seat provided.

Our tour lasted 3 - 4 hours. We drove nearly the entire island on the paved roads, making many scenic photo stops. Our ever watchful guide Michaelangelo was friendly, informative and patient.

It was amazing to see guests on Bus Tours, ATV Tours and people we drove by taking pictures of US! You know they wanted to be on OUR Trikes tour.

For this tour I would recommend bringing the following:

    • Sunscreen (do not forget this)

    • Baseball hat (might blow off while driving but useful at stops)

    • Bottled water

    • Towel (useful for wiping off excess dirt and sweat)

    • Camera

    • Driver’s License

    • Money (for souvenirs and food purchases)

Aruba Trikes staff are true professionals. They beam with pride and love their product. Safety and fun go hand and hand. I have no doubt that if cruise ship guests catch wind of this fantastic tour, Trikes Aruba would be booked solid and have a standby list. It's just that much fun. :)

Hi we made a reservation with them for next week we'll be on the Crown Princess arriving at 8am. At first they said we needed to be there by 9am and last Fri. the emailed and said we needed to be their by 8:30 as by 9am they will start the training. Is this doable for us to get there by 8:30. Has anyone else done this before.

  8. I am in this same situation except Aruba Trikes they only charge when we sign up at the office. we received a email saying we need to arrive by 8:30 am yet they know our ship arrives at 8. I looked on line at a cruise port terminal schedule it says our ship will arrive at 7 am. Could there be a difference in local time. Yet I read Aruba is an hour ahead of us in Fl. I'm confused too.
