I see that S3 staterooms, at the Magic Carpet, link to lower category rooms. For instance on deck 9 S3 room 9200 links to Cat 12 inside stateroom 9202. S3 comes with suite class acess to THE RETREAT. Cat. 12 does not. If I book the S3 with DW and book my 20 something daughters in the connecting 9202, do we have to separate when I use THE RETREAT (Lounge,Luminae,Sundeck)? Seems to defeat the family connecting rooms concept.
If you are in connecting cabins and the reservations are linked, you can all enjoy the perks of The Retreat. The following was in a press release:
As an extension of the suite design, Kelly Hoppen MBE was at the forefront of creating The Retreat, an exclusive area for Suite Class guests which includes a private restaurant, pool area and exclusive lounge. There are few (if any) onboard spaces at sea that are as stylish, sophisticated and that rival any high-end resort.
What’s more, for the first time ever, guests in a non-Suite stateroom that are connected with a Suite will also enjoy all the benefits from The Retreat’s luxurious amenities...
-
That only applies to Retreat access. Suite guests can still invite guests to Luminae regardless of their cabin. :)
Yes, that is true. They can invite other guest who would pay for Luminae.

Thanks for your input, I keep hearing similar comments. I think we spoke before on another roll call perhaps, you were taking your folks on a cruise I believe. Hope you had a great time, and thanks again.

You have a GREAT memory! I have taken my folks on a few cruises. :D
We have been long time Royal cruisers but we really like the value/perks we get from Celebrity. If you like the JS on Royal, you will love the Sky Suite on Celebrity. We are going on the Edge Jan 27, 2019. I don't think we've ever planned a cruise so far in advance!
-
Would friends also be able to eat in the suite dining room?
Do their cabins have to connect or the reservations?
Their cabins must connect.
-
Hmmm, so if I were to try to book one of those adjoining cabins would they sell it to me even if I wasn't sailing with friends in the suite? I suppose they might rather than letting it go empty.

You could certainly book one of the adjoining/connecting cabins but if you don't know the people who are in the connecting suite, you wouldn't have access to The Retreat. The connecting door could be kept closed/locked. I believe the reservations have to be linked.

I need help. We are Royal cruises for the most part, diamond plus members, but really want to try Celebrity. We generally get a junior suite, what is a comparable room with Celebrity. The choices seem confusing, thanks.

We are D+ on Royal too but now find Celebrity SO much better. A Sky Suite is very similar to a JS, however....the Sky Suite comes with a Butler and suite perks, which is really nice.
We concluded the JS on Royal really didn't have any great perks with it, other than the size of the cabin.

Thanks for finding it :halo:. As I stated, anyone in a connecting cabin to the suite has access.
When I referred to 'Tom, Dick or Harry', I meant anyone else you knew on the ship that wasn't in a connecting cabin :D .
I knew what you meant. ;p
I am excited about the new feature. It will be nice to be in a suite and have our friends/family in the connecting cabin be able to enjoy the suite amenities with us.
-
I think they have, Don. I recall reading on one of the press releases about them having access to The Retreat if they are in connecting cabins to a suite or are kids of the suite occupants. Don't think it means any Tom, Dick or Harry that you may know though :D. I'll see if I can locate it ;).
If you are friends/family with any "Tom, Dick or Harry" and they are staying in a connected room (and you are in a suite), everyone will have access. This was in a press release:
What’s more, for the first time ever, guests in a non-Suite stateroom that are connected with a Suite will also enjoy all the benefits from The Retreat’s luxurious amenities.

Thank you! It really was a beautiful wedding on a gorgeous island! There isn't anything about the day (or planning up to it) that I would change. Edwina and Diamond Orchid Weddings did an outstanding job! :D

We went on the Liberty of the Seas (RCCL) last week and got married while in port on Cozumel (on March 8th). It was an amazing day and wedding.
We booked through Diamond Orchid Weddings and from the very first contact I had with Meliza and then Edwina, it was perfect. Corresponding via email about the details was so easy and the outcome was fabulous.
We (bride/groom along with friends and family) were picked up at the port and driven to the other side of Cozumel (about a 45-60 min drive). Once there, we boarded a small boat to take us over the lagoon and to the island (Isla Pasion, aka Passion Island). Edwina was there waiting with everything ready to go. We changed and the wedding ceremony began.
It was absolutely gorgeous....from the flowers to the music (they helped me find a guitar player/singer on the island and he was perfect....everyone loved the music). After the ceremony and photos, we were seated at a gorgeously outfitted table where we ate delicious food and was served the yummiest cocktails and beer.
When we were ready, we were taken back to the ship. All and all, I would absolutely, hands down, recommend this island and company if you are wanting destination wedding. It isn't a well known island yet so it was like we had our own private island!!
I am attaching a couple of pics from our blessed day. :)

I definitely think it is worth it for us....mainly because we aren't tied down to having to go to the CL or Diamond Lounge for cocktails at a certain time. Since we travel with others who are not D+, we don't have to worry about leaving them for the lounge. We can enjoy our beverages with them, anyplace on the ship. :D

Premium coffee, premium tea, bottled sparking water, and fresh squeezed OJ
Thanks for answering! Doesn't quite seem worth $10 a day more.
-
Forgive me if this has been addressed before but what is the main difference between the Ultimate and Premium drink package?? For $10 more per day, what more are you getting that you wouldn't be getting in the Premium package?

Thanks for posting your review. I'll be on the March 6th Liberty sailing.
I'll be on the March 6th Liberty sailing too!! :D

We are getting married on Isla de Pasion (Passion Island) right off of Cozumel. I have been working with the coordinator there and so far, it has been fabulous. The pictures of the island are incredible. They have even used the island to film Corona commercials. :D
We are arriving to Cozumel via Royal Caribbean's Liberty of the Seas. The wedding coordinator is taking care of everything, including our transportation to/from the island. I am so very excited! We just got engaged this past New Year's Eve and are pulling this together very quickly.

We recently visited Falmouth, Jamaica (via RCCL) and we booked Courtney Taylor to take our group around Montego Bay. We have previously booked with him when we visited Ocho Rios in the past so I knew, without a doubt, that it would be another fantastic day. I wouldn't book with anyone else when going to Jamaica.
We arrived at the Falmouth pier and Courtney was waiting for us with a smile and a "hey mon"! We had a group of 10 and Courtney really showed us a great day.....going to Rose Hall (for a quick stop....it was beautiful) and then to Montego Bay for some beach time and Margaritaville time. Yum! On the way back to the ship, we stopped for some of the best Jerk food I have ever had (at Scotchies restaurant).
Our entire group had a fabulous fun-filled day and that was thanks to Courtney! We were happy and IRIE....and felt safe the entire day. I would not hesitate to book with Courtney in the future and I ALWAYS recommend him to other people who will be visiting Jamaica!! From the pre-cruise communication with Courtney to the day in Jamaica, Courtney Taylor is absolutely the best!! :D

On multiple occasions, I have used Courtney Taylor for tours in Jamaica. The last time was when we docked (Freedom of the Seas) in Ocho Rios. He took my group to Dunn's River Falls and provided excellent information along the way. He then took us to do some river tubing (that was fun!) and when we got finished with that, there was Courtney...waiting for us!
We all felt completely safe and it seemed as though Courtney was not only our tour guide/driver, he was our friend...showing us his island and making sure we were enjoying ourselves.
I am also a travel concierge and have recommended Courtney Taylor to many people. They all came back with great things to say.
My group has booked Courtney again for our visit in Feb 2012. This time, we are docking in Falmouth and will venture out to Negril. We can't wait!
Courtney Taylor is fabulous! The prices are very reasonable and the tours are enjoyable. Having Courtney Taylor as our guide/driver/friend for the day is the ONLY way I would tour Jamaica!! :)

The Zip Line in St. Maarten is an experience...that is for sure. Like lgonquin said, it has multiple zip lines and an "obstacle course" in between.
It is at the Loterie Farm in St. Maarten. The website addy is loteriefarm dot com.
Have fun!

Oh I believe it. It is just not enforceable. Once the reservation is made and the money paid, a contract exists. It is too late for the cruise line to now change the terms of the contract. As you will recall, the cruise lines tried to do this with the fuel supplement and the Florida AG said refund it or face criminal prosecution.
The reservation is made in advance and can be cancelled with at least 24 hours notice. There isn't a contract.....no money is paid until you are on the ship. The $75 fee is charged to your SeaPass card ON THE SHIP.

Okay, back to this "rule". Where is it written that there is an age limit. So far all I have seen is a reference to having to be over 21 to drink. But there has been no such limit on joining the Chef's Table.
I just checked my confirmation from RCCL....the email they sent me to confirm my Chef's Table reservation on the Oasis. I didn't recall if it had an age restriction...but it sure does. I highlighted it in pink. Here is part of the email confirmation:
Reservations are for 7:30 PM and dinner is approximately 2 ½ hours long. Dress is smart casual except on formal nights where formal attire is also appropriate. Charges will be made to your Seapass Account once you are onboard. Cost is $75.00 per person and includes gratuities, guests must be 21, and penalty for cancellations within 24 hours is $25.00 per person.

In exactly 2 WEEKS from this very moment, I will be boarding the Oasis of the Seas!! Whoo-Hoo!! :D

Hello! We are sailing on the Oasis on January 29th and are very interested in knowing what the new menu for 150 Central Park is - can you let us know? We plan to eat at all the Specialty restaurants including the Chef's Table but I would like to know what they are serving at 150 before we commit. Thanks! Barbara

Thanks so much! We are in 8240; same cabin port side.
One week to go and I'm buried in Michigan snow! Hope it all settles down as this is the first time I have ever had to fly down the day of sailing:eek:
What did you think of 8240? How were the views sailing and docked?

We booked an S3 for the 1/27 sailing and we have the connecting E4 too so we will all have access to The Retreat, which is fabulous!
We are curious about the Magic Carpet but we aren't concerned. It is my understanding that we will be given a schedule as to when it will move by our cabin and when it does, there won't be any people or crew on it. I was a bit bummed to learn that as I was hoping I could have a standing drink order and they would drop it off at my balcony on their way by. Talk about room service! ;-)
