  1. Thank you CC family! I just received this email for our trip that we booked yesterday, that leaves in 23 days... and I was pretty sure that we were OK, but came here to check. I knew the answer and research was already done, and I knew it would be here! So, THANK YOU, good people of CC for already having this cleared up so I didn't have to look any further! Now I can focus on the important things, like what to pack and how much money we're gonna want to bring!

  2. What ever you choose really. If you have FTTF or another "perk" that gets you to your cabin right away then carrying them is the safest and not too inconvenient. If you are hoping to board early but do not have the perk of being able to get to your cabin immediately, you may want to send them, it can be cumbersome and annoying hauling that all around whenever you can get into your cabin.

  3. If I remember correctly, and there have been no changes, then the priority/platinum lines are marked by red "tape" between the poles used to differentiate the lines and the regular line "tape" is black. There is also usually a sign at the beginning of the line that says Platinim, Diamond, Etc... I have not sailed from Miami since FTTF was implemented so I don't know what changes/impact that may have made, but I don't believe that would make too huge of a difference. Happy Sailing!!

  4. You guys are all making me laugh! It is a little weird that this seems to happen relatively often. In the past, I have booked myself online; I've booked with a PVP, and the last few cruises with this TA. There are pros and cons to each scenario, but I've always been a woman until now... :DLOL. I'm sure it will get worked out or at the very least we will get it straight at the pier if there is even an issue at all... I don't plan on bringing it up if they don't.:p I will be boarding that ship come next Saturday!!! (Even if I have to "grow a pair" so to speak!;))

  5. Are you qualified to make such a decision on gender? LOL.

As long as they have the correct passport info should not be a problem but to ease your mind would call Carnival to fix this.

Dont think they would object to you call direct in this case.

I haven't called yet because usually they want people who book via a TA to go through the TA, as well they should. But maybe you're right. If I don't have a resolution my tomorrow I will try to call myself. I'll tell them golfadj said it was OK!:p

Oh, and I'm an RN so I am pretty sure I know which gender is which!

  6. That's weird.

On mine under account info you can change your title via a drop down menu. Under my cruises there is no title listed at all.

In my general profile I am listed as Mrs. It is just in the Guest Information profile for THIS CRUISE that I am listed as Male and in the boarding docs that I am listed as Mr. I do see where I can edit it in the general profile, but it will not let me edit gender in the Guest Information section of the Manage my Booking portion of the site. My TA did call CCL and was assured all was well... He informed me that it should have changed in the docs, but it did not. He is on the case, but I will be a little apprehensive until it is fixed online or until I am safely onboard ship... even if my room steward does call me Mr. Jenni all week !

  7. We leave in 7 days! A couple of days ago while reviewing our boarding docs I noticed that both my husband and I are listed as "Mr.", now, I realize that in some cases this would expected... However, I am not a Mr. I am a Mrs. I went to edit it online and it would not let me edit my gender in the booking where it has me listed as a MALE. I sent a message to my TA who called CCL and messaged me back that he had called and it should be fixed... but it's not. I just checked again and I'm still listed as Mr. and as a Male in my profile.

Now, I really don't care how it's listed as long as I don't have any issues boarding the ship! I wouldn't mind being listed online as Mr. Mordecai Ali Van Allen O'Shea as long as I don't have any issues at boarding time.

My name is spelled correctly in the booking and matches my passport. I have sailed over a dozen times with CCL and my VIFP number is correct also. I just want to be SURE that we don't have any issues! What do you all think?

  8. What is the one weird/random thing you've discovered you can't cruise without? For me, it's a small bottle of distilled water to fill the reservoir of my steam buddy. It keeps it in perfect working order cruise after cruise... Even when I forget to empty/clean it between trips. What is your weird one thing?

  9. Oh absolutely! They are great for both. I'm sure that it depends a little on the CD or whomever is running it, but we had a LOT of fun! And they even got younger kids on stage to participate when we saw it! It is definitely something I would recommend to families or anyone else that has ever enjoyed playing games!

  10. The shower curtains are not on rods like you have at home. The curtain hooks attach into a thing attached to the ceiling. How can you put the shower organizer over the curtain?

You can't! :) but you can use the loops that are meant to go over the bar and hook them over power suction cups. These are not little suction cups with tiny metal hooks, but larger in diameter (think 3 inches across) and have a levered suctioning system. They have worked on the last several cruises across multiple ship classes (Dream, Fantasy, Conquest classes) and have never fallen down even when fully loaded for the entire week. Here is a link to the style I have on Amazon. I bought 3 large ones at either Walmart or Lowe's for less than $10. I keep them stored in the pocket of the caddy in an empty suitcase when I'm not traveling so they are always ready when I am ready to pack!

  11. I know it always seems like one of the "formal" or "elegant" nights is more "formal" or "elegant" than the others. It seems like more people go all out on one night more than the other. I'm trying to make my "what to wear when" list for our cruise in 2 weeks and I can't remember which night is which... You'd think after 13 cruises I would have these details memorized, but alas, I do not!

    Thanks!!

  12. I also have one from AVON that is AMAZING! It is designed to be hung over the shower bar, but most ships don't have bars. I just use 3 POWER SUCTION CUPS from Lowes or Walmart or somewhere. IT works SO GOOD and there is really room for more than just the two of us, would probably be enough for a family of 4. Here is a link to the reviews on AVON's site. I don't think they are still selling it,http://reviews.avon.com/5588/44568/reviews.htm, but you could probably find one on ebay or something!

  13. Does anyone have a current Carnival Shore Excursion Discount code? The one I've been successful with in the past is no longer valid :( I would really appreciate it! I just don't enjoy booking outside excursions since I am always thinking about all of the 'what ifs' that could happen and keep us from making it to the ship on time. Yes, I know I'm a chicken, but if we're going to spend the money I'd rather be able to relax and enjoy the excursion... That said, I'm all about a better deal if I can get one... So if anyone has any current codes send them my way please and THANK YOU!!!:)

  14. Geeze, she absolutely did not do damage to the ship. You guys are such conspiracy theorists some times! ;) It's much easier to get banned than you think- trust me!

This made me laugh because I am "banned for life" from the Walmart in Elmira, NY for throwing a pack of gum. Well, actually I caught the pack of gum that was thrown at me. Next thing I know, we were escorted out and asked to never return. We were told that they had taken out photos with their security cameras and that if they ever saw us in there again we would be prosecuted for trespassing.

It still makes me laugh, it was all so ridiculous. Just a smallish man with the title of night manager on a power trip, who couldn't stand it that some people were having fun on a random Tuesday. We weren't even drunk or loud. Just throwing a pack of gum, that we intended to buy, as part of a running joke.

It really is easier to get "banned for life" than you'd think

  15. Thanks guys! I'll be sure to try all of your suggestions. I know my DH is looking especially forward to checking out the new EASports bar and Guys Burgers. I am more interested in the cantina's Mexican food offerings!! Does anyone know if there is still the fish n chips place on the upper deck of the restaurant? (I'm hoping they replaced it with something better!!)I would also be curious to know what shows/entertainers we may look forward to seeing or skipping... :-)

    Thanks again!!

  16. I definitely don't think so! Our best stewards were taking care of us when we were sailing on an lower deck in an interior or PT cabin. We had a ninja steward that was adequate but we NEVER saw him in 8 days while staying in a balcony on a top deck. When we've had balconies it is the same steward that is taking care of the Interior cabins across the hall. It's like anything else, some are excellent and other are mediocre. You may get someone on the best week they've had in a while or on their last cruise before long overdue vacation. I've never had a BAD experience, but some have definitely shined brighter, and cabin type or location seemed to have nothing to do with it. :-)

  17. My DH and I are heading out on the Liberty in 3 weeks!!! We last sailed on Liberty 5 years ago, and this will be our first time sailing on an upgraded 2.0 ship.

So, what's new and must do on-board the Liberty? What are the best/must try aspects of the 2.0 upgrades regardless of ship? And what can you all tell me about "Big Sexy?" as a CD?

Thanks in advance! Oh, and when is it considered "OK" to start packing? LOL!~

  18. I did a 7-day with my mom and DH stayed home... He was totally OK with it and only minimally jealous, but that was probably because he and I were booked on the exact same trip/ship 3 months later.

It was actually harder for ME! I hated being away from him and not being able to call/text a hundred times a day like we do now (DH is a firefighter that works 48 hour shifts... texting is our lifeline!) Our phone bill was INSANE even though we added international calling and kept it short (5 mins a night... except the night I had a mini meltdown... then it was like 15)

I don't think I'd do it again, at least not a 7 day. If mom wants to sail with me she will be in her own cabin and the DH and I will be in ours! I just missed him too much, but we have to spend 6/14 nights apart on a regular basis so I guess I am more jealous of our time together than some would be.

I do take a every even year girls trip to Disney with my BFF and we stay about a week, but I think that is easier because our phones work so we can both text our husbands and call them when we want too :p
