  1. it is an escorted Sinorama Tour - 2 nights Shanghai , 7 nights on Gold 8, 2 nights in Beijing

    leaving on September 27, 2018

We did a similar trip with sinorama last year. They do include everything they advertise. Generally a good trip. I would advise you there is a LOT of walking! Also, even if you like Asian food, that is all you will get and not very good. Luckily I had read that and had a few snacks packed. We also got sick with respiratory issues. The guide would not help me find a western dr. She offered to take me to eastern pharmacy. I wasn’t comfortable taking eastern meds since I take several meds daily. Next time I would ask my dr for a general antibiotic script to have on hand. Just in case[emoji3]

I can’t say I didn’t think it was a bad trip. Just go prepared.

  2. We will be flying into Vancouver from Japan on a Thursday morning at 11:25 am. Is there time to catch a flight home in the USA at 3:00? I'm not sure how long customs ect will take. Thinking we may stay at the hotel and fly home the next morning, but if 3.5 hours is doable we would be tempted to try it. Thanks for any information you may share.

  3. We did not see any mosquitos on our recent cruise while on the ship, BUT we did have many at the hotel pre and post cruise in San Juan. They seemed to be coming through the window screens. If a hotel stay is in your plan, keep that in mind.

  4. My husband and I are flying from LAX to Aukland in a few weeks. We haven't flown with air NZ before and have a couple of questions. Do they provide blankets and pillows? And does anyone know if they provide ear buds or over the ear listening sets? Just wondering if we need to bring our own. We do know about the luggage restrictions but do they care how big my purse is :) We have no choice about flying in economy since it is with a group so trying to think a bit about making it somewhat comfortable anyway. Thanks!

  5. Several years ago on a Celebrity ship we spent some time visiting with the MD. He was from Turkey and we had many interesting conversations with him. One day while in port we stopped for a quick bite in a fast food place. It was very crowded so there we stood with our tray and no place to sit. We soon saw someone waving to us from the corner, and it was the MD in street clothes! He offered to share his table with us! (actually he was going to get up to give us his table, but we insisted he stay) Nothing like sharing a little McDonald's!!
