First thing I would do is see if their is a Roll Call for your sailing. You just might be able to find some other singles there. Good for you for getting out on a cruise. Hope you have a great time!

    Thanks Laszlo! Love your name!

  2. I am a widow and I'm cruising for the first time in almost 5 years, and first time with Oceania.  I will be cruising as a single, I'm a little nervous, and I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips/ideas as to general onboard atmosphere, dining, etc. Thanks for any help and encouragement!

  3. I enjoyed the escargot, the sushi, and the alligator fritters - whatever was in them, they were good, tasted like a good crab cake. Also liked the bitter and blanc, but should have asked for a little more vanilla sauce. And the caramelized apples and puff pastry was outstanding.

I also tried a couple of the vegetarian entrees including the herbed polenta with wild mushroom ragout, and the spanikopita with the couscous-stuffed pepper - both were excellent!

    WCMC - goes without saying!

  4. I'm going on my first Alaska cruise next May....should i take my Jamaican bird with me, or should i get something that is more in tune with "Alaska"...maybe a moose or something?:D:confused::D

Nah, don't worry about it, my penguins love St. Croix, I'm sure your Jamaican bird would enjoy Alaska. (Gotta find last year's photo of Skipper with Santa Flamingo). ;)

  5. We are ALWAYS accompanied by some sort of stuffed mascot. Last time we cruised we took along "Mort" from the Penguins of Madagascar,, and every evening when we returned to our cabin the steward had posed him with our towel animal of the day!

This year Skipper and Rico (also Penguins of Madagascar) will be coming with us! In fact one of the first things the DH said after we booked was "Well, whose turn is it?" I knew just what he meant! :D

  6. I've only sailed twice (so far) but I have to say San Juan. We came in a day early and stayed at the Sheraton OSJ, walked all around, had a nice meal at a sidewalk cafe, and a couple drinks at Senor Frog's  Then when we got up the next morning and opened the blinds - there was the Victory, practically across the street. A quick, pleasant walk and we were set to cruise.

  7. Thank you, kind sir! :D Sounds a lot nicer than sitting at my desk fending off the tag-ends of a case of bronchitis! (No, NOT Swine flu - or since we are not to slander the poor piggies, I've begun referring to it as the R2D2 flu).
  8. I LOVE the green atrium, it looks like the "Mother Ship" landing!:D

Seven months from today we'll be out there somewhere (went to CCL website to see WHERE exactly, but got an error message...) but exactly where doesn't matter, just that we WILL be onboard!
