I was speaking with Costa and it's is suspected that it will be cancelled and are going to be given options for a full refund or a Future cruise certificate , etc.....Maybe it will just sail the Caribbean ? Call them next Monday. They are right now working on the cruise leaving on the 17th .....
We will go next year !
What cruise is leaving on the 17th?

You should be fine. Just tell the cab driver exactly what you want to see in Puerto Plata.
In addition to the umbrella street the Amber museum is interesting and you can buy
both Amber and Larimar there. I would negotiate a rate for the day or 4 hours.
Puerto Plata is not huge so could see all you want in 4 hours. Puerto Plata
is safe. Think maybe $60 for the 4 hours. You could do the chocolate factory and
rum along with it. El Bergantin Caribbean Grill is a nice restaurant right in the main square.

We are thinking of doing this excursion. After spending time at Ocean World and doing the dolphin swim, is there time to hang out at the port, maybe do the zip line? Not the zip line excursion, just the one at the port that's like$20.00.
I did the Dolphin swim will vacationing in the area. Don't have any advice on the time at port.

We are on Favolosa coming off a Transatlantic cruise arriving at Barcelona Port at 8AM.
Would we be able to catch a 10:15 train at Barcelona Sants station? We will only have carry on luggage.

Just off Costa Pacifica from Rome to Buenos Aires.
US folk got free water at lunch and dinner in the dining rooms - flat or sparkling and others with drink packages also got water. At breakfast there were water dispensers in the buffet but had a sign asking people not to fill bottles, many did though. In the dining room at breakfast there were jugs of iced water along side the jugs of juice. I would take an empty bottle with me, fill a few glasses with water and then pour into my bottle at my table.
Some of the waiters let people take the balance of the large water bottles at the end of dinner, others did not.
Thank you very much for the information. How was the cruise? We are doing a reverse transatlantic first time on Costa in March.

On Transatlantic cruises do Americans get free water at meals in dining room or just buffet?
Is the free water only for breakfast and lunch and not dinner?

Can you bring water onboard on embarkation port?
What size water do you bring and how many?
Does it have to be cans or are bottles okay?

Take a cab. Make a deal with a cab driver to take you there and back.
Usually a cab in the area for a day is around $60 but not sure if the cabs at the port charge more.

Sosua beach is about an hour away by cab.
Very nice calm beach in a bay where you can buy a lounge chair for $2 and umbrella for same price.
If you snorkel can take a boat out or swim out 15 minutes. There are 2 reefs.
Souvenir stalls and restaurants line the beach.
On way back can stop in supermarket to buy coffee, rum etc.

If you can't find a tour you can take a cab. The Chocolate Factory is across from the Brugal factory.
Both offer things to buy. From there you also aren't far from the Amber museum. Best place to
buy liquor etc. is La Sirena, supermarket Tropical or Jose Luis near there too. Can't imagine a cab for the day costing more the $65. Depending on time you have might also be able to fit in the cable car.

There are lockers there. Was a once in a lifetime experience.
If you have someone not doing the swim have them take pictures.
You can buy them but I liked ours better.
There is also a small snorkel tank that is fun too.
The bird rooms are cool too but know before you know it they are climbing all over you.
Any take Holland's "ULTIMATE CURACAO, BEACH & TURTLE SNORKEL WITH LUNCH"?

Great pictures. What camera did you use?
