Looking to book at a beach bar and enjoy the day with swimming and shopping.
I have read posts that say there is run-off sewage if there is a lot of rain.
Does anyone know if it is ok or should we look for another beach?

Thank you for the good information. Looks like it may have the best snorkeling opportunities in St. Maarten??

We are looking for a beach day with snorkeling on our own, we have our own equipment.
Been looking at Great Bay Beach but read snorkeling not very good and possibility of sewage run-off if it has rained recently??
Any other beaches that may have a bar offering chairs/umbrella pkg with good snorkeling that is easy access?

We use
http://www.sugarmillhotel.com/mobile-i.html
Contact them directly for a day pass, and make a booking with the Concierge.
A great day will be had by all
No Cruise Herds or sales people.
What does the day pass include and how far is it from the port?
What is approx taxi cost??

We are a party of 3 and would like to go to Spice Beach Club. Anyone know approx. taxi cost?

They do a great job. They have a Cruise 'N Park pkg and shuttle is reliable.
Good people working there and great pool area.

we have stayed numerous times. Very good hospitality, nice pool area and at times will be a guitarist playing music by Tiki-Bar. Great Park'N Cruise deal and shuttles have never let us down in the 4-5 times we have stayed. Good People.

I read one post that stated if you walk across the bridge it was $10 less. We plan to walk around downtown a little. Also taxi rates I have read anywhere from $50 Roundtrip up to 4ppl. to $45 each way per person.

Is it close to shore? Where is the bus pick up point from the pier??

Looking to take water taxi over and back. I am asking about the drift snorkeling from point A to B. Is it close to shore, easily accessable to the shore, how deep ...etc. many thanks if anyone has the answer.

We would strongly recommend booking the private drift snorkel tour on the Woodwind. This boat is operated by a lovely young lady (Dee) who does a terrific job...and she normally books-up quite quickly when a ship is in port. They meet you at the cruise ship pier and walk you over to their boat. Their web site is at:http://www.woodwindbonaire.com/ and Dee Is tie lady in the upper left picture.

I'm still interested if anyone has any answers to whether it is far from shore, how deep and if you have access to shore? I know Dee does a fabulous job however we will probably do the water taxi over and drift back.

Which "Klein"? Curaçao? Bonaire.

We are looking at drift snorkeling at Klein Bonaire

Looking to go to Klein and do the drift snorkel. I want to take the water taxi, any idea on directions to go from the port? Also how deep are you in while drift snorkeling. Some in our party prefer to stay close to shore as they are not strong swimmers. Are the waves choppy?

looking to go there and do some snorkeling. Have read that it has all facilities. Anyone know cost of taxi for 3 adults. Is the snorkeling close to shore? What the cost is for chairs/umbrellas. Any info or would be helpful.

I am looking at going to Arashi Beach and doing a little snorkeling. I have read it is pretty good. I have read that you can grab a bus (10) at the port. Does anyone know where to go to get the bus and that the fare is like 2.30 pp. helpful to bring exact change. How deep do you have to go to get good snorkeling? We have some in our party that are not real strong swimmers and prefer to stay close to shore. I also have read of no facilities but have read also of chair/umbrella rentals and a food truck. Anyone have any idea if something has changed?

We stayed the end of September and had a Pkg that included room, valet parking while cruising and shuttle to port. Had a great time and a nice hotel. Concierge was great!!!

Just returned from a cruise and stayed pre-cruise at the Hilton Downtown. They have a stay and cruise pkg. that includes your room, parking for your cruise(safe) and shuttle to the terminal. You catch a taxi when you return. Had a great time. Magnificent port views and had a Checkers, Burger King and an amazing publix supermarket across the street. Highly recommended. Also recommend Versailles Restaurant in Little Havana. Just make sure you go very hungry.

Will be going to Freeport in September. Does anyone know the transportation options to Lucaya? What the cost is? Does anyone have any idea if there is good snorkeling around there? Thinking of just going there and doing the Beach, Hopefully snorkeling and visiting the shopping area.

I noticed they offer small and large cabanas. Anyone familiar with the difference, what is included and is one closer to the snorkel area? Any info would be helpful

Has anyone been here and does it have any beach snorkeling? We are doing a tubing excursion that includes a beach stop here. Is there a good place nearby to get a Red Stripe and Jerk Chicken?
