Did you book on the app once on board?

No, I was able to book as  soon as I downloaded the app at home. I was able to book every show except the comedy show (as that one was full on every time slot).

I booked my cruise and downloaded the app on September 4 2023,  and sailed October 1, 2023.

  2. I booked my cruise on the oasis 4 weeks before it sailed and was able to book all shows except the adult comedy club.  I was told to go early and wait in the standby line, by a follow cc'er.

I went to the comedy club a few minutes after it started and just stood along with others.  I am glad I did as I found them to be very funny.

As mentioned on here the cruise line has open seats if you go the first day you should be able to get yours.  I met a fellow passenger who had done this,  so it will work.  Or at least it did for them.

  3. I am surprised that they sailed full.  As the itinery was nothing to write home about.

Pt Canaveral,  coco cay, and Nassau.  I notice the same itinery on many of their ships.

Also they had a kids sail free promo.  Maybe that helped them book out the cabins.

The assistant entertainment director told me they had 1000 children on board my sailing.

Also I looked for the tribute bands on my sailing and did not see any.

  4. On the Oasis last month.  I noticed the portion size of the entrée' in the mdr was small. And the dishes contained the cheaper cuts of meat.   However, I did find all the food tasty and served hot.

My waiter and assistant were outstanding.

I do miss the old menu's and selections.  and the chilled soup.  But will have to get use to the new way.  And will I am sure.

Had dinner one night in the Windjammer.  I enjoyed what I choose.  It was hot and tasty.

  5. I would vote on any of Royal Caribbean's Voyager class ships.  The Explorer, Voyager, Mainer, or Adventurer. Great size  Plenty to do.  lively pool deck.  good shows.  I would not suggest an Oasis class for a first cruise.  Just got off one, it was nice, shows outstanding  but  so crowded, always standing in a line and so hard to find a seat.    Of course it was sold out.

I agree with the others.  At least 7 days.  Shorter and its a totally different experience.

  6. There maybe times you would like to escape the crowds.  If so deck 7, next to the rock climbing wall, both port and starboard  side is a section  with chairs and tables.  Like a private balcony.

On deck 5 is the track.  Follow that to the stern of the ship and they have the wooden ocean liner chairs set up there.  Such a great place to relax and read overlooking the ship wake.  Behind you there will be windows.  One afternoon the curtains were open and we watch them practice for the aqua show.

  7. Just back from having the new menu for the first time.  Our waiter and assistant provided outstanding service.  I was so happy with them.

As for  the new menu.   Usually one entrée would appeal to me. Served hot and tasty. But wow was the portion small.  You can't help but notice that.  The New York strip steak that was mentioned previously in this thread is very accurate.    That was the only thing I was served all week that was impossible to eat.  So I can not really complain.  Everything else I enjoyed very much.

I did not roll out of the dinning room,  but left satisfied.   I lost 2 lbs.   I am happy about that

Honestly,   I think I can contribute that to all the walking I did on the Oasis.

this will be the first time I will be at Coco Cay and I am really looking forward to it... I do live in Florida and have the beach and pool but I expect this to be a different type of beach...We may only stay there a short while but I just don't want to miss it. We don't have the drink package but do have the refresher package so I am guessing we can have water or soda. Is the walk far from the ship?

No,  There is a shuttle.  Then you can take the tram (that's what I call it) once on the island.  He or she  will announce which area as they stop. You can get back to the ship the same way.  So walk as much or as little as you want.  Plenty of free non acholic drinks and food on the island.

  9. Just came back from a cruise that included Coco Cay.  I always enjoy a private island.

Particularly, on a heavy port itinery.  Its relaxing.  clean,  just a great beach day with out panhandlers.

On Coco Cay.  we went to south beach and it was quiet.   Even with two ships in port we had water front loungers with umbrella.  We swam, laid out to dry off,  Did the nature trail,  and lunch at snack shack.  Burger, fries and a strawberry kiwi juice.  I found it to be very enjoyable,  and hope to return someday.  Cost Zero.

I would expect it to get congested with up to 6,000 plus cruisers. I have never had an issue waiting to turn left from CFW, then again I do not arrive at peak traffic time expecting to breeze directly to the terminal without having to wait.

Use 440 to avoid the congestion avoiding CFW completely. You have choices.

    Thank You

7 night cruise is charged at $30 for 7 days. Multiple ships still cruising from CL on October 1, most likely you will park in a lot not the garage. Some cruisers in the lots have reported being charged for parking upon arrival at CL. Standard practice is being charged on disembarking. Bring the parking ticket with you on the ship. You can pay by cash or credit card at the machines located by the parking garage.

Some of the lots are far enough from the terminal that a shuttle was implemented last year. I have not read of shuttle service on disembarking, only arrival day.

So we can't use two separate credit cards.  Sounds like cash would be the only way to split the parking.

  12. Hi,  I am traveling this time with a friend, we are splitting all expenses.  That is why I am asking.

We are arriving at parking lot on   Oct 1st  about 11:30am  Leaving the  8th at 9 am. .  Its a 7 night cruise.

Will be be charged For 8 days of parking  or 7?

How will we pay?  Before or after the cruise.

Can we each put half on our respective credit cards?  Or will we or can we pay cash?

  13. Years ago we did an excursion just to " the Dig" at Atlantis.  Our cruise is leaving beginning Oct and I would love to do that again.

Does anyone know if you can do the dig separately or must you have an Atlantis day pass to do it.?
