  1. We are booked on cabin 1593 Aqua Class on the Reflection. I am trying to find out where is the couch positioned in this cabin. We like it to be by the window. AT this point we cab switch to cabin 1625, if this one, and not 1593 has the couch by the window. If anyone has been in either one of these cabins, or has knowledge of the furniture position, please let me know.  This will be a transatlantic, and we much prefer to watch the ocean from the couch rather than from the bed. Thank you.

Help. What am I  doing wrong. I can't  post I roll call.

I have the same problem. I want to post a new post on my Roll Call, but it never shows. I never had any problems with the old CC site. Why did anyone feel the need to change something that was working fine?  I do not like this new format, and probably be using CC less frequently if at all.

  3. It's been a while, but we almost always use EastSideForHire/FlatRateForHire for any longer trips in Seattle - no need to give credit card in advance, fixed rates, and a bit less evil than Uber;-)

IIRC you can also get fixed rate car service from the airport provider, STILA, on a walkup basis. Bigger comfier cars, $40 instead of $29 if I'm remembering pricing correctly to downtown. Hopefully a local or recent user of the services can confirm the pricing for you.

Thank you for your answer. Yes, I checked STILA which seems reasonable. Also, Quality Town Car. Flat rate $50 if paying cash, and has good reviews.

  4. Need some recommendations about transportation from the airport to the Sheraton downtown. Will be there overnight before boarding Celebrity Solstice to Alaska. Considering one of the companies which offer flat rates. Think it might be better than a taxi, particularly if we hit heavy traffic. Has anyone here had a recent experience with any of these companies? Some require a credit card to make a reservation. Any advice will be much appreciated.

  5. We like Blu very much. We love the fact that we can always get a table for two, no matter what time we show up. Yes, the tables are rather close to each other, but that does not bother us. The dining room is small and quiet. There is not the noise and the crowds like in the MDR, and then, most important of all, the food and service are great. On the other hand, although we do not use the Persian Room very much. we do use the small area where there are comfortable lounge chairs to relax and look at the ocean behind large windows. Do I think AC is worth it? Most definitely.

  6. Might not eat in Blu very often as I hate the smell of lamb no matter how it has been cooked :(

Do you mean that Blu always smell of lamb? I have never felt that smell, and I have a good sense of smell! Do you mean you always smell lamb at Blu?

  7. We are sailing in Aqua class on the Equinox on the 28th of July. I have been following menus on the Celebrity App. We sailed in a regular cabin last summer and I loved the food in the MDR and we got our Aqua cabin for an amazing price this summer. Anyway I do not eat pork, tuna, lamb or duck. And I only eat most fish in moderation. I also have to limit my corn intake. I am noticing a very limited selection of food I will am able to eat , or choose to eat. I typically live off of chicken and beef at home with the occasional seafood or salmon and a pasta dish. However I am seeing that the chicken and salmon dishes are all roasted and not the kind of flavored dishes I am used to, and the steak appears to be the very basic steak. Worried I am going to be disappointed by blu and end up eating in the buffet the whole trip. I usually get a cesar salad, shrimp cocktail and a seafood or beef/chicken entree every night and use pasta with marinara as a backup. I have to be very careful about what I eat due to a chronic pain condition, I unfortunately have a lot of food triggers which will cause pain flares. Should I be worried about food? I have cruised successfully many times on many lines and this is the first time I am worried.

We have been in Aqua Class twice, and will be going to Alaska next month, also on Aqua Class. Keep in mind, that you can always go to the MDR if you prefer what they offer on a given day. Also, you can ask the Blu waiter to bring you a particular dish you would like from the MDR. The Blu staff is wonderful, and try to please. Love the fact that you can show up anytime you like, and there is no wait. We can always get a table for two, the dining room is small and quiet, and the service excellent.

  8. We took this tour a couple of years ago and it was a nice boat ride into the wilderness but the trip didn't have any WOW factor for us. The boat was nice and wasn't very crowded but after a while the trip just seemed long. It was a very nice day and there was plenty of opportunity to move around on the inside and outside. For us there was lots of scenery but not much wildlife. I'm not sure if it would have been as good if the weather was cloudy or rainy. Remember there's a reason they call it Misty Fjord.

This trip was the second choice for us. Originally we were scheduled to take a float plane trip but one of the float planes from tour company used by Celebrity crashed into a hill along Misty Fjord the day before we left Seattle. As you would expect all float plane trips from the company were shutdown until the investigation was completed. Timing is everything.

For us. a beautiful scenery will probably be enough to enjoy the ride. On the other hand, there is no way we will get in one of those float planes. Better a little bored with too much scenery than....well!

  9. Assuming you are talking about the catamaran tour.

My wife and I did. Best excursion we’ve ever taken. The tour guide was great and this can be a big difference between wonderful and disappointing.

We got up close to the glacier and saw some wonderful wildlife, including a period where whales were breeching all around us.

Thank you SetU2. Celebrity site does not describe the vessel as a catamaran. It is described as "one of the fastest and more luxurious sightseeing vessels in Alaska" However, I am aware catamaran refers to the structure of the boat, so I guess it is possible. It is good to know you really liked it so much. This will be our first time in Alaska.

  10. Hi there! We had the same decision to make last year and chose Celebrity as well. The dates, timing, pricing, added value of “perks”, etc, made it the right choice for us. We had a fabulous trip, with many glacier experiences and, while I don’t know what we missed at Glacier Bay, I wouldn’t have changed a thing about our adventure. Have fun!!

Thank you very much for your comments. Yes, it was not an easy decision to make. I am glad you enjoyed your trip so much. We use Celebrity a lot, and never had a bad experience. For this trip, we got a really good deal, with a great cabin located very close to the aft elevators (which we love). The pricing was right, and we got three perks. Moreover, with this trip we will have enough points to become Elite. This will be great, since we will be going with Celebrity again to South America on January 2019.

  11. Thank you all for your replies. Your opinions and advice are much appreciated. After further discussion with my wife, we came to two conclusions. First, as it is true with most places in the world, one single trip is never enough to see all the places of interest. Second, that nothing prevents us from going back to Alaska, next year or the following one. This time, it is really to our advantage for several reasons to go with Celebrity. Unfortunately, this particular cruise does not include Glacier Bay. However, I am sure that we will still have a great trip, and we will see beautiful scenery and wild life. Again, many thanks to all and happy travelings!

  12. This will be our first trip to Alaska. Not sure if we will be back there. We have two options with two different cruise lines. One includes Glacier Bay, and the other does not. The one that does not include Glacier Bay is more convenient to us in terms of departure port, added perks, and points towards future cruises. We are wondering whether Glacier Bay is a most see? Should it be a major determinant in choosing one or the other cruise line? Thanks in advance for your opinions.

  13. I want to thank all of those who replied to my post. We just got back from the New Year's Eve cruise. We found the location of cabin 5148 to be most convenient to the elevators, and also for its the proximity to the MDR. There was absolutely no noise. The fellow passengers were generally all nice. Even at the Lido, at peak times, we did not see the rush and push we have seen on other ships. The service was excellent and the food very good. The cabin is small compared to the ones we have had on Celebrity and RC. We were so pleased, we booked an Alaska cruise on the sister ship Nieuw Amsterdam this August!

  14. I have no experience with this stateroom or HAL as a cruise line, but regarding your question on noise, our experience with RCI and Celebrity is that proximity to the elevator banks is not a noise issue at all and, in fact, is a very desirable location for convenience to the elevators and stairwells. The staterooms nearby are in hallways behind the elevators and they are not noisy in their operation. I would have to believe that would be the same with most other cruise lines as well, including HAL.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, we thought it to be a very convenient location. We have cruise on HAL several times years ago, and we always had a good experience. Hope this time will be the same.

  15. Has anyone stayed in cabin 5148 on Holland America's Eurodam? We just booked this cabin for the New Year's sailing. We like the fact that it is close to the aft elevators, very convenient to the MDR, but we are concerned about possible noise from the elevators traffic. Also, someone posted a review of the cabin complaining of mildew in the bathroom (that was in March of this year) Apparently, HAL did not take care of the problem during their time on board. Any comments will be appreciated. We still have time to change cabins before final payment. Thanks

  16. Sorry to ask, but with regard to the Marriott, is this the Copenhagen Marriott or the AC Sky Marriott? We're staying at the AC Sky with points and had enough to do the two nights there but not at the "Copenhagen Marriott". I thought the AC Sky wasn't as centrally located. (Although was happy to see it has a cruise/airport shuttle! [emoji5])

This is the Copenhagen Marriott (the one by the canal). You are referring to the Bella Sky Copenhagen by Marriott.

  17. We stayed at The Square Copenhagen (Rådhuspladsen 14) last month. It has a walking score of 99 and is one block from Tivoli Gardens. Numerous restaurants and bars on the same block as the hotel. We chose this hotel because of mobility issues and we couldn't walk very far. Needless to say, it's right in the middle of things.

Thank you for your reply. Good to know about the many restaurants around The Square Copenhagen hotel. We will keep that in mind at dinner time!
