You can ask them to open it, but now you have allowed your neighbors to come look in your windows whenever they want. If you're good with that, just ask the room steward. They will get it done for you.

It’s just our 5 year old daughter and my mother in law. The door between the rooms will be open all the time anyways🤷🏻‍♀️

Yup!  Every passenger can set up their own credit card for their charges.  When we did my daughter's girl scout cruise many years ago, each person set up their own online account.  No need to worry about Grandma running up a casino or booze debt on your dime!

YES! thank you! we were planning on doing ours (my husband, mine, and our daughters) with cash because we also have $100 obc...(which we had to scour the shops the last day to use it all on our alaskan cruise) so doing cash will not be a huge deal for us as we don't drink alcohol or soda and would rather not get off the ship on land days in south america

Yes, you can do this at the port or online during check-in. It will ask how you want each cabin/guests accounts to be set up, Credit Card or Cash.  DO NOT USE A DEBIT CARD.

we are prepaying our gratuities and we always stick to a budget. The kids (6 & 3) will not be holding onto their cards. MIL is an avid gambler and I don't want to be paying for her habits (if she discovers the casino) and spending. we are paying for her cruise but I refuse to pay for her spending onboard.

It didn't work out too well for me when we took the grand kids.ymmv.i went to guest services 3 times and still got stuck with a bill to pay before I could disembark.even though each time I told them not to let them charge anything.I would do it on my card.

they are little enough where they wont have their cards. myself and my husband will hold onto their cards

  5. Myself, My husband, our children and my mother in law are cruising in summer of 2020 and I was curious can my mother in law register her credit card under her room key so that my husband and I aren’t charged for her purchases?

Hello sea lovers! I have an upcoming cruise and I would like to buy my wife and daughter some goodies to be in the room when we board. How do I keep that a secret??? My wife is on our account more than  I am which is a lot. I need some tips or tricks to get some strawberries and cookies in my room without old eagle eyes knowing about it.

Buy them when you get on the ship

  7. I noticed a lot of cruise ships only have stand up showers. I will be travelling with small children who take baths. is there enough room to put a blow up tub in the bathroom for a bath for a 3 year old? i already booked a balcony cruise ship onboard the carnival magic, and it does have a stand up shower and no bath. i know we will get through it but if i can bring a blow up bathtub meant for babies that would work for a bath.

    Also, a little clarification:

Adjoining - rooms next door to each other or across the hall from each other with no interior connecting door.

Connecting - rooms next door to each other with an interior connecting door.

There aren't many verandah/oceanview connecting or adjoining rooms on cruise ships (certainly no verandah/interior ones).

Sorry, I was corrected by someone else in multiple places when I said connecting and they told me adjoining is the door in between. Guess I was right in the first place😂

  9. Is there a possibility to have adjoining rooms that one is a balcony and the other is either a ocean view or an inside?  Or ocean view and inside? Looking to travel with my family (my husband, our two small children and my husbands mother) and if we have adjoining rooms and one isn’t a balcony that is fine with us as that room would be my mother in laws and our oldests room.

  11. My family and I are planning on going on a cruise in a few years. My question is if we are booking adjoining rooms does it book as one room or two? I know they have kids sail free at times and we want the extra room for my mother in law and one of our kids but we want to see if we can get the best deal if we book when they have a special.

  12. i love:

-the fact that all the stress of "the real life" gets put on hold while on a cruise.

    -the check in

    -the first step on board

-the hallways and how neverending they look

-the crew and how friendly they are, the servers in the dining room especially.

-the horn blow when heading off to sea. even those life vests we have to wear during the drill.

    basicly everything;):)
