Did you eat in Cucina at all? It was open for breakfast and lunch on certain days when we cruised in October. The Ass't Maitre'd Simona was a sweetheart. Any chance she still there? We are cruising
again in April on Mardi Gras.

By chance do you remember if they still do Tea Time (3PM) on Sea Days in the Dining Room? Enjoyed your review. We sail this coming week. Our 3rd time on Horizon.

Great review. We are going soon on Horizon (3rd time). On Sea Days do they still have Tea Time at 3pm in the Dining Room?

The Carnival Panorama left Long Beach on Saturday and is headed to Philippines, Indonesia and India. This was confirmed by
a crew member on board who I correspond with through emails.

Got the cross body bag on the Horizon last week and traded them for the night lights thanks to the Guest Services person.

Anyone have the letters for Horizon?

Was on the VISTA in March and ate a dinner (FEE$$) and a lunch (Mongolian BBQ) on this ship. Both were very good. Really did enjoy the dinner and it was worth the extra fee. Highly recommend the Duck and the Kung Pao Chicken... Enjoy!

13 days and a wake-up. Finally the Vista.......:D:D

Nice video. We were on this same cruise. Next up for us is the Carnival Vista in March. :):)

Going on Vista Mar 5th. How was the JiJi Asian? What is the upcharge for eating there and how hard to get reservations? Thank you in advance for your reply.

Not to give away our secret, but Riviera deck mid ship is the best location on a ship. Smoothest ride and less foot traffic. Elevators are close by and let's face it, most people use the elevators no matter what deck they are on. From our 25+ cruises, we have been on the Riviera deck mid ship 90% of the time. And the Deluxe Ocean View cabin on Magic are our favorite as they have the 2nd washroom w/mini tub. Also price is better as the higher you go up so does the cost. We are booked on Magic for October.:):)

Plenty of time. Might depend on how you are getting to airport. If Carnival transfer - no problem. Same with other shuttles. Should have plenty of time. If you do not do self assist for getting off ship, then go to Guest Services and request early flight luggage tags. I would not worry though as 2 pm seems fine.

old style , 21, and smoke FILLED
So Sorry. I stand corrected. Per Carnival web: Put your skills and a little luck to the test in Carnival's casinos! Guests must be 18 years of age or older to play the tables and the slot machines; guests under 18 years of age are not permitted... Age Restrictions On Board Drinking Alcoholic Beverages Guests must be 21 years of age or older to be served alcohol onboard.
However the casino's are the smoker's haven. So few places for them to light up these days.
-
Are the roulette wheels the old style with people spinning the wheel or the new style with electronic betting?
Is the casino open to 18 year olds or do you need to be 21?
Is it smoke-free?

Thanks for the review. We are sailing in 34 days on the Paradise. It was our very first cruise back in 2000. This is now our 24th Carnival cruise. Just interested to see how the ship has held up over the years. :):)
-
Looking forward to your review. Paradise was our 1st cruise back in 2000. Now 16 years later it will be our 26th cruise. I guess we enjoy cruising.:):)
-
Just a guess, but Day 3 HMC as it is basically a beach day. Usually the day with earliest departure time. Yes, normally a sea day ,but not on the last day as everyone needs to pack. By hte way we get on for our 8 day cruise when your get back:D:D

Glory - 3 times
Breeze - 2 times
Paradise - 2 times
Celebration - 2 times
Conquest - will be 2 times after October
Different itinerary each time and in some cases different port city

FTTF is per cabin, not per family.

Prices & itinerary the same! NOLA is attractive but super-big ship worries me.
Dream is 130,000 tons and Freedom is 110,000 tons. Dream has 1 more deck and decks 14,15 really do not count as there is very little up there. And usually too windy up there anyways. These are both super-big ships. Dream is 2 years newer. :):):)

Have been on both ships and have sailed from both ports. We we do New Orleans. Especially if you can spend a day or two before or after the cruise. A lot more to do and see than Galveston. Also transportation to/from airport less for New Orleans as it is a ways from Houston (Hobby closest) to Galveston. As for ship, either is fine. Dream does have the old style shows with more dancers and 2 lead singers. (it may be last ship for this). Either way you will have a great time...enjoy!

We always do our own research and even select our own cabin and then I call our PVP and let her do the booking so she gets the credit. Sometimes she has saved us a little bit more money and she also see's more cabin availability then the web site shows. She has been our PVP for 15 years. We really do not need a PVP, but hey everyone has to make a living:):):):)

Only 1 is booked but as you can see from our signature we are not sad. We have taken our fair share of cruises and will continue to book one at a time.:rolleyes:

No need to renew passport yet. Went on a cruise the end of October 2014 and passport expired March 2015. Not an issue at all and eve spoke with a customs agent in New Orleans.

We will also be on this cruise. Have done many Carnival cruises. Wanted to see the Costa ship. Same class as the Horizon, Vista and Panorama.
